Alex Armstrong urges King Charles to convince AI leaders to slow the pace of frontier AI, following the disclosures of unreleased models passing secret instructions to override human control.
The King has warned of the "existential dangers" AI technology poses while hosting a summit at Dumfries House this afternoon.
His Majesty welcomed executives of industry leaders such as Nvidia, Anthropic, Google DeepMind and OpenAI in Ayrshire, Scotland, today to "convene, listen and encourage" an open discussion on AI.
The King told guests, which also included Paolo Benanti, who advises the Pope on technology ethics, AI will "shape the world inherited by future generations", but issued a stark warning.
He explained, while the technology is "intriguing", it is also "deeply concerning in equal measure."
