Battle of Marathon Explained in Hindi: Greeks vs Persians
The Battle of Marathon, fought in 490 BCE, was a pivotal conflict during the Greco-Persian Wars between the city-state of Athens and the invading Persian Empire. The Athenians, outnumbered and led by General Miltiades, utilized superior tactics and the terrain to their advantage, launching a surprise attack that routed the Persian forces. This Greek victory not only boosted Athenian morale but also demonstrated the effectiveness of the hoplite phalanx, a tight formation of heavily armed foot soldiers.
