Pro Skimboarders Take on Brazil’s Powerful Shorebreak Waves

What time is it Blair? 6.16am Still very early. First day of the swim. It's getting better all the way here. It's probably the most crowded we've ever seen it. I know it's getting bigger all day. It's getting bigger and bigger. By the end of the day it should be pretty solid. Some of the best locals are skimming. This kid Pedrinho with the blonde hair. Easily one of the best. It's literally survival of the fittest. Everyone runs. People are dropping off like flies. You can get into it from like the first peak, the second peak, the third peak. You're on the side and boards are shooting at you. I think I might call it quits before I die. There's so many skimboarders on the beach right now. Is that you here? Yeah. How crazy was his last one? I can't see anything from way over there. He got all the way down there. See if he just held on to that one. Kind of a tube. A death tube. Sometimes here you just make it through every barrel. Other times it's like clampy, two waves coming together and you're just in the middle of it all. The one right here that you pulled into was just like a detonator. My ears did things I'd never felt my ears do before. I thought I had a problem. The pressure of the water changed so fast. Oh my, please go. This guy is a barrel hound. Nocturno. He's sick. Go, Dane. Get in there, Dane. Yeah, Dane! In the final inning. You made it to the end. This is Leandro, a local boy. He has a little green band on his trunks. My personal favorite skimboarder here. He's incredible to watch. He has taught me a lot over the years just by watching him. I think we're in for a bunch of really good days ahead.
