Hi sweet friends! Today I’m continuing my fall decorating series by transforming our living room into a warm and cozy space for autumn. I’m decorating the bookshelves, fireplace mantel, sofa, coffee table and console while mixing vintage-inspired decor, cozy textures, warm fall colors and seasonal florals.

She emphasizes the use of warm colors, varied textures, and a mix of vintage and modern pieces to bring a seasonal feel to her home while providing practical tips for styling and organizing.
Hi sweet friends! It's Amy and welcome back. I'm so happy that you are joining me today
to hang out and decorate with me. Now we are continuing my fall decorating series. I just
finished up here in the living room and I can't wait for you to see it. I was so excited to bring
in those colors, those textures, and the coziness that we decorated with in the kitchen into this
room as well. So I do hope that you enjoy it and find some type of decorating idea that is
new to you or a decorating tip that you can use for your fall decorating. Now if you are new,
I would love if you would consider subscribing. Fall is my absolute favorite season to decorate
for. I love the colors. I love the coziness. I love the foods, the scents, and the temperatures.
What's not to love? Anyway, I like to bring you along and share all of that with you and so it
should be a fun time. Our community here is the best. We are all like-minded. We love decorating
and I would love to share it with you. As far as today goes, I'll go ahead, turn you around,
let you see what we're working with today before we start adding all of those beautiful fall
touches. All right, well let's go ahead and get to decorating. Today we're going to start our
decorating over here in the bookshelf cabinet. Typically, I just dust around my decor throughout
the season but since everything is completely cleared out today, it's the perfect opportunity
to get in here, give all the shelves a really good dusting, and start with a nice clean slate before
we begin decorating. I like to start at the top of the cabinet and then just work my way down.
As I go, I'll start bringing in some of those warm fall colors and textures, layering in all
sorts of different pieces to give the shelves that full collected look that I love. I also really
like to mix different materials. I'll use glass along ceramics, old books, baskets, and some of my
more vintage inspired pieces. Mixing those different finishes and textures really helps everything
from looking too much the same. I'll also tuck in some smaller fall artwork here and there and bring
in florals and greenery to soften some of those harder edges and add a little movement to the
shelves. Then, of course, we will add a few of those fun seasonal touches. Things like pumpkins, acorns, and cute
little squirrels are really what start to make it feel like fall. I just like to sprinkle those pieces
throughout rather than putting everything in one spot so your eye has little touches of fall to
discover as you move from shelf to shelf. Now we can move over to our mantle and since we have our
TV mounted above the fireplace, I love to display a TV vintage seasonal artwork which you can easily
find on YouTube. There's so many beautiful options to choose from. Some even include relaxing music
like the one that I'm using here. It's such an easy way to add a little more warmth and help finish
off the space. Since our mantle is pretty narrow, I don't have a lot of room to layer in decor so I
love using a garland to give that full fall look. This one is from Hobby Lobby and once I have it
in place, I like to take a few minutes and really work with it separating and shaping all of those
branches and making sure the leaves are facing outward. You can really see the difference here
between the side that I've already fluffed and the side that I haven't. I also ended up switching out
the artwork on the TV for this one. I felt like the muted colors coordinated a little bit better
with the garland and with the overall look that I'm going for here in the living room.
I like to keep this hammered bronze container next to the armchair to hold a cozy blanket,
keeping it close by for those chillier evenings when we want to just curl up by the fire. I'm
still in love with the artwork that I added here during our early fall transition and I think it
coordinates really well with everything that we're bringing in for fall. But I did pick up two new
pieces of artwork from Amazon that I'm going to hang above the sofa right between our two windows.
Moving to our end table, I'm bringing in this new brass and glass cloche from Target. Even though
it's part of their fall collection, I love that I can use it for year round. I'm layering it with
this autumn wreath that I toned down with a little bronze spray paint. That's a great tip to update
older fall pieces that may be a little too bright. Then I'll finish everything off with a seasonal
candle and one of my favorite copper pieces. To our mirror, I'd like to add the matching wreath
to the garland and I also picked up this clear command hook from Hobby Lobby to attach it. But
before I hang it, I want to make sure to give the mirror a good cleaning. Then we'll get the wreath
in place and start styling the console for fall. For the console, I'm starting with this larger
vessel and two of these mustard yellow thistle bushes from Hobby Lobby. With the first one,
I like to spread the stems out almost like I'm creating my own little grid. That gives me some
space to tuck in the second bush and helps to create a much fuller arrangement without having
to use a lot of extra stems. Another new piece that I picked up for fall is this larger faux fur
blanket. I actually have my kiddos, my daughter Elena and her hubby Asher in mind when I found
this one. Whenever they're watching a movie or just hanging out in the living room, they love to
cuddle up together. So I thought this would be perfect for them to share and of course Scott and
I will definitely enjoy cuddling up together with this super soft blanket too. Now for the sofa, you
guys know how much I love my throw pillows, so I definitely had plenty to choose from. Ultimately,
these are the ones that I decided to use. I love mixing different patterns and textures to get that
collected look and these are all so soft and cozy. I also kept the colors fairly neutral so that the
fall florals and other seasonal decor can really stand out. I only picked up two new pillows this
year and I'll just mix those in with some of my favorites that I already had. And just a reminder,
I'll have all the new pieces I'm using today linked in the description box along with some of
my older decor pieces or similar options whenever I can find them. So if you see something you love
or you're wanting to create a similar look in your own home, you can easily find everything there.
For today's coffee table arrangement, I'm grounding everything with this large tray.
I love using a tray here because if we need the entire surface of the coffee table,
we can easily move everything at once. And since we tend to spend more time indoors during the fall,
we love playing cards together as a family. One new piece I picked up is this beautiful decorative
box from the Hearth and Hand line at Target. I love that it almost looks like a book,
but inside you'll find two sets of playing cards and dice, all in the prettiest colors and patterns.
And I'm already looking forward to some fun games of cards around the coffee table this fall.
All right, sweet friends, so that pretty much wraps up the decorating here in our living room
for fall. I hope that you enjoyed it and I'd love to hear what was your favorite area or decor piece
that I decorated with today. I'd have to say for me, I really love just the pillows. I love the
collected look and I only had to purchase two new ones, which is a plus. And then my second favorite,
I think it's the coffee table arrangement. I think it is just super nice. It's easy to remove
if we want to play cards or use the coffee table surface. And I think it's beautiful.
So before we end our time together, I always love to share a daily Bible verse. So today I'll be
sharing from Hebrews chapter 10, verse 23. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess,
for he who promised is faithful. I just love that little reminder of that God's promises
do not change with our circumstances. So I hope that encourages you if you might've needed to
hear that today. Well, I thank you so much for joining me today. And I do hope that you'll be
back next time for more fall decorating, but until then take care and God bless friends.
Bye and happy ball decorating.
