The Perfect Everyday Carry First Aid Kit

Today I’m building what I consider the perfect everyday carry first aid kit—a compact setup designed to go places where a traditional full-size first aid kit probably won’t.

This little metal tin is small enough to throw in a backpack, glove box, briefcase, purse, lunchbox, EDC bag, tool bag, or just about anywhere else without taking up much space. That matters because the best first aid kit is the one you actually have with you when you need it.

The goal here was not to build a full trauma kit or first-responder setup.

You’re not going to find a tourniquet, splint, trauma shears, chest seals, or a hundred different medical supplies packed into this thing. That requires a completely different size and purpose.

Instead, I wanted to cover the kinds of problems you’re far more likely to deal with during normal everyday life: cuts, scrapes, minor bleeding, burns, cleaning wounds, headaches, congestion, basic medication needs, and a handful of other small problems that can become a giant pain when you have absolutely nothing with you.

Everything inside had to justify the space it occupied.

Small footprint. Useful supplies. No unnecessary bulk.

This is the kind of kit you build once, keep stocked, and forget about until the day you’re really glad you brought it.
