The recommendations emphasize health, resistance to diseases, and specific growth habits to help gardeners choose the best plants for their space.
These are exactly the roses for your garden. What varieties are they? In this episode, you'll see seven rose varieties from my garden that will delight you from spring through autumn. I invite you!
The first rose from today's selection is the English rose David Austin Charles Austin, probably one of the best English roses in my garden, if not the best. Why? It has enormous blooms, measuring 12 cm, and emits a pleasant, fruity fragrance.
They hold their heads upright, unlike most garden roses that droop. They remain on the bush for a very long time. While hanging flowers look good on large, tall bushes, we are seeking the perfect rose—perhaps nearly perfect.
It has few thorns. I can even work with it without gloves. I greatly appreciate roses that have widely spaced thorns, so that you can grip the stem between the thorns without immediately pricking yourself.
Working with roses, often without gloves or with very thin ones, I know what to watch out for. And it's good that we now have a choice, that there are so many rose varieties that aren't intimidating with their heavily thorny stems and can be touched safely.
And this rose beside the dark pink flowers is my fourth suggestion—this is the Pink Panther rose, also known by another name, Achmer Dome. It is probably the best variety among those older large-flowered types that are no longer planted in gardens.
The plant is nevertheless worth showing, because to me it's almost an ideal rose. It has very large, beautiful, salmon-pink flowers. The color is rarely seen, the blooms are slightly fragrant, and it's highly resistant to sun and rain—something not often found in these old varieties.
Moreover, the rose grows nicely as a bush. It's quite a broad shrub with even growth, doesn't send out long canes in autumn, and doesn't require pruning. It's so well-behaved, as if it has a built-in code saying it should grow only up to 1.4 meters and no higher.
The flowers remain fresh on stiff stems. Why did I choose it for the group of seven nearly perfect roses? Primarily because of its health. It has attractive, large leaves, with no signs of black spot throughout the entire season.
And as I glance around the flowerbeds, I see my favorite. It's the rose that captivates with the color and fragrance of its blossoms. It's a French bush rose, Purple Lodge.
Flowers in small clusters are very densely filled and slightly droop in full sun. Truly violet in color, but turn purple in sunlight. Emit a very strong, fruity fragrance.
It was listed among the seven perfect roses due to its excellent health. This is a very disease-resistant rose, never affected by black spot. It grows very vigorously and will become a large rose.
In the autumn, it produced two long shoots, which I tied to the support, and I believe it should bloom remarkably well this season. And here, on the right side, we have the flowers of the Princesse Astrid de Belgique rose. You can see the entire bush in all its grandeur.
Between the last rose on the list of seven selected roses is a climber. This is a large-flowered, climbing rose that grows quite narrowly, requiring little space, but belongs to the tall roses. Its strong, thick stems can reach up to one and a half meters in height.
This should be taken into account when choosing a location for this rose. It has beautiful, large flowers with a diameter of twelve centimeters, very durable, resistant to sun and rain, and wonderfully, delicately fragrant.
The flowers of the Courage rose have a fascinating color—smoky, aged pink, truly unique. As you can see for yourselves, the flower shape is also very elegant.
But since it has stiff, strong stems, it won't even look very nice. As you can see, it blooms very abundantly. This is already its third blooming in my garden. The flowers are long-lasting, do not change color, and have a delicate fragrance.
I'll always make sure there's some rose as a curiosity in my videos. Today, in the form of this new release from Harkness.
My garden is not a business, it's just my passion, which is why I'm answering the question that appeared in the comments. No, I don't intend to write either an e-book or a book about roses, and I also don't think I pose a threat to anyone's business.
The only thing I ask of you is to subscribe to my channel. Not so that the channel may grow, but so that it may simply survive as long as possible. Warm regards, and see you next time in Garden Landscapes.
