Happy Moon Festival! 4 Kinds Of Mooncakes 🥮 中秋节快乐！

Hi everyone, welcome to Cooking with Lin. Did you ever celebrate moon festival? Did you ever have moon cakes? So moon festival, also known as mid-autumn festival in Chinese, zhong qiu jie, it falls on the 15th of the eighth month of Chinese lunar calendar. So this year it falls September 21st and we believe on that day the moon is the brightest and the fullest. Of course because the fullness symbolizes the reunion of the family and the happiness and all the good things and the family get together and have a big dinner and they appreciate the beautiful moon and also enjoy moon cakes. So I got a bunch of moon cakes from Asian market I'm going to show you. Here I have four kinds. This is red bean, this is lotus seeds and with yolk and this is just the red lotus seeds. It's red because it uses brown sugar and this one just lotus seeds. They don't have nuts filling or you know ham like wiener ham. Moon cake is also very popular. This one is lotus seeds. It's opening. So this is made from lotus seeds and blended the seeds into paste and this one is red bean paste. What's your favorite? I think I like red bean paste the best but also lotus is nice. Yeah so we cut it and we can share it. This is a red bean. Let's try one with the yolk. I don't know if I'm a yolk person. You're not. Let's see. Wow. Yolk in the middle. That's pretty cool.
