A new study links having just one drink a day to an increased risk of dying from
a number of cancers. So, what do we take from this study? Let's bring in Dr. Mike
this morning. Good morning, good to see you. Good morning, and we need the
specifics on this. Like, what kind of cancers are we talking about? Does this matter by
age? Well, it's more concerning for younger people, 20 to 54 folks, and so the
thing is for women, it's breast cancer, all right, and for men, colon cancer. Now,
here's the thing, all right, it affects estrogen hormone levels in the body, and
I always tell my women who have had a history of breast cancer, look, alcohol is
really not a good thing to do. Look, there's no safe level of alcohol, and
that's why the young people are going more towards mocktails. God bless them.
They're doing a lot better job than prior generations. So, does it
matter? Does it matter if it's a glass of beer? Why do we hear sometimes, you know,
red wine is good for us? Well, yeah, look, everything is about
the amount. The alcohol gets converted into carcinogenic things, so
it gets converted. Alcohol gets converted into acetaldehyde, and that can cause DNA
damage, and like I said, it changes hormonal things in the body, so you got
to be judicious. Is that why you ask us how many drinks a week we have, and I
always lie to you? Well, you're not alone. A lot of people lie to their health care
providers because they don't want to admit, but look, I don't want to be
anybody's personal Oppenheimer, you know, destroyer of worlds, especially on
Labor Day, because a lot of picnics today and stuff. Look, everybody's got to try
to find their way. So, I just want to make sure, because I thought it was, if
you're older, it affects you more. You're saying for the younger people? Right,
right. According to the data, people between 20 and 54 actually were somewhat
at higher risk. Well, there you go. Well, the information, what did you say, Rose? Oh, the
information I saw said it was 55 and older is a higher death rate for
cancer deaths than 20 to 54. We'll have to double-check that, because I thought it
was more risky for younger people, and you're seeing a lot of people with colon
drinking, no matter what. Yeah. No matter what. Alright, everything once again in
moderation. Yeah, everything in moderation. I want to talk about this popular supplement
that's possibly linked to a shorter lifespan. What is that? Yeah, tyrosine. You
see it in a lot of supplements. It's for mental acuity, mental sharpness, all of
that. Bottom line is that it's been linked, only in men, with a year less of
life. Now, what are we doing there? We're looking at, yeah, we're kind of jumping ahead. We're looking at hair loss. Yeah, this is the GLPs. We'll get to it in just a second. Yeah, we're going to get to that in a
minute. The bottom line is... Can we redo this whole adult segment? This is what happens when we labor
on Labor Day. Let's just get it together. Okay. Alright, let's settle down. Now I'm stressed out. No, don't be stressed. Yeah, we don't know what's going on. No, I'll tell you what's going on. Alright, tyrosine supplements.
Alright, they did a big study. They looked, it was a study where they found that
there may be a possible link with shorter lifespan. May have to do with
insulin resistance and all of that. Look, if you're out there and you're taking
In men. Yeah, but that's... Okay. What? No, yes. All right. In men. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, and then he said, I'm looking at you and I wasn't looking, you're sitting right next to me.
much but look at the box. What is your problem? What is this?
You got there? Can we show the graphic? Oh, okay. Can we show
the maybe show that the scary the the thing with today? The
camera was on. Oh my god. Wait, where's the where's the cat? Is
the human mouth supposed to open that large? Here's the
uvula. That's what we're talking about today. Who's
screaming in the background? That's the thing, right? Yeah,
let me take this. Oh god. Let me let me do this. You see that
thing hanging in the back of your throat? Alright, right
there folks. That's the uvula. That's the uvula. Uh huh. What
does it do? Well, it helps you swallow and it doesn't have
when you swallow, food doesn't go up into your nose. Alright,
that's number one. It also produces saliva. Oh. How do you
like that? Why don't you say it so seductively?
I don't know. What the heck? I don't know. Oh my god. Next
Labor Day, no medical segment. No, that's not true. You
deserve it. Take a day off. Take a day off. I'm giving you
I'm not taking any time off. Prescription to take a day off.
We're grateful for you. Oh, I love you guys. Oh, that does
not look good. Yeah, I kind of feel like this. Yeah, wait a
minute here. Here's my
