Ennis Cantor is taking the Chicago Sky and the city of Chicago to court because the former NBA player has filed a lawsuit in federal court against both of those two groups.
Welcome to TMZ Sports. I'm Babcock here with Lucas Dillon and Tawanda.
because they don't like a lot of the stuff that he's been saying about men in women's sports. Now Cantor announced the lawsuit on his social media page. He actually put up a screen grab of the first sheet of the lawsuit.
Go to the TMZ Sports website if you want to read more about the suit. We've got the entire thing along with the screen grab. He said this seeing court just filed a federal complaint.
I'm taking legal action over my ejection from the Chicago Sky game while peacefully exercising my First Amendment rights. My T-shirt did what the whole WNBA apparently couldn't define a woman.
I spoke to somebody who would be in a position to know what the WNBA is thinking was. And I asked that day after he got kicked out are you guys going to ban him. And they said no because one we don't think he did anything wrong.
And that's telling. But two and most importantly that they didn't want him then to turn around and file a lawsuit and then give more attention to a topic that they desperately want to go away. And well what do you know what happens.
Yeah they don't ban him but the team does. And now yeah lawsuit. And this again not going away now you're gonna be talking about this for months if not years at this point.
They they cross some sort of line and what we've heard from from Cantor is that he was shouted at first according to his story. But now now Chicago Sky might have to come out with some sort of evidence to show that maybe he was causing issues.
Because otherwise like all we know is his story because they've refused to really speak on it and what he was doing. And now some of that evidence probably becomes public.
At this point you're filing a lawsuit like you're the whole point of your message was you made your point. Yeah. And you did it well you did it good. But like now you're going above and beyond suing the city of Chicago like come on.
Well I think that's it's a lot like people still I think agree with his message at its core that I mean I agree with that you know let's go let's figure it out so that way you don't have to deal with. Yeah.
But I think yeah like when it comes to going to the WME Games wearing the logos saying that I'm doing all this this that and the other and then you know going on calling out the commissioner saying I want to have a court a talk.
But now you're trying to get legal with it like my guy at the end of the case. Yeah he might. He genuinely might have a case. But at the end of the day like we've we've said it on this couch we've never talked about this man this much. Right.
Yeah. I mean he's never been taught. Yeah. It's a fact. He's never been talked about this much. Like Cantor was a good an NBA good NBA player solid NBA player played for 11 seasons. He would dominate.
Which means that he wasn't that good if he played for 11 years. We never talk about him. Yeah. Right. Right. Definitely won the Superstar. Yeah. He's a he's a good role player a guy that I think could help a team win.
We don't know exactly what he's looking for here but there is some money potentially at stake. I don't think that's why he's doing this but he could potentially stand to actually earn some money based off of this.
It's going to be interesting to see now. Lawsuits take a long time. The process is is slow moving in courtrooms. You're going to be talking about this like it or not.
Before you end the segment really quick question. Do you think like let's say the WNBA comes back and they change the rules and they identify what a woman is. Do we think he drops a lawsuit.
I think he would. I think he would at that point because that would that would undoubtedly make him the winner without question here. So I think he would. We'll see if they do that.
