This just hit the breaking point...
Sep 5, 2026
A new update surrounding Jalen Duren and where him and the Detroit Pistons currently stand has
revealed that both sides have hit their breaking point with a shocking new update coming out about
Jalen Duren and his camp. We're gonna break down everything from Brett Siegel revealing
a terrifying reality around the Pistons with Jalen Duren still not signed and the camp around
the corner. We're gonna break down these updates plus so many more in this episode. You're not
gonna want to miss it. Before we get into it, I just want to give a huge shout out to absolutely
everyone watching. To the 86% of you watching this right now, if you want to stay up to date

here on Pistons Digest. So let's just dive straight into it. Now Brett Siegel came out and I know
there's so many reports surrounding Jalen Duren but he goes into safe. The Pistons want to bring
back Jalen Duren and they want to do it on their terms. Go contract somewhere in the 30 to 35
million range. Duren wants more. He wants something north of 40 million annually. Now looking at this,
we've seen a lot of reports surrounding Duren and his camp wanting 40 million dollars but diving
into the second report coming from Brett Siegel saying Duren and his camp don't necessarily want
to be in Detroit long term because they do not feel valued. Now this is the scariest thing that
can happen. Of course both sides, this contract negotiation we've seen reports saying as far as
they've gotten nasty, these negotiations are both sides explaining why Jalen Duren is not worth money,
his side saying why he is and I do understand why Langdon is being hesitant after a poor playoff to
extend Jalen Duren to the 40 plus million dollars he's looking for but now with the reports coming
out that he doesn't feel value and that there's reports that he doesn't necessarily want to be
in Detroit long term, it opens up a terrifying reality for both sides where now you have to
navigate if this is a sign and trade going in with the qualifying offer. There's so many moving parts
within these reports but before we dive into even more reports and how this affects the future,
this video is sponsored to you by Kelshi. On Kelshi, you're trading directly against other
users, not the traditional against sports books. You're buying yes or no contracts on the outcomes
of events across sports, politics, and even the weather. For example, you can look at multiple
different sports like Detroit where you can go in and trade on more or less or looking at the
this season opener coming up very soon in 45 days with this trading on Detroit $25 would net you
$44.85 and even going farther into this if you wanted to look at football the Detroit Lions
versus the Saints coming up in eight days you can trade on this as well $25 get you $32.76.
Kelshi is not only with of course sports but the weather, politics, anything you can think of you
can find right on Kelshi. The best thing is if you're interested in trying out Kelshi use the
link in the description or in the pin comment trade $25 with code DigestNBA that's on your
screen right there and get $25 added to your account instantly. Huge shout out to Kelshi once
again go check them out and if you want to use it the link will be in the description or the pin
comment make sure once again use DigestNBA when signing up and you do get $25 when you trade your
first $25. Now diving farther into this of course there's so many things coming around we know
yesterday Shands announced that Ahmed Thompson signed this $40 million contract extending him
with the rookie scale for five seasons to stay with the Rockets and even looking at Durant reporting
to launch 40 years from the Pistons and has been rejecting offers at 35. Now with players signing
these big deals like Ahmed Thompson that just extended and locked up that $40 million deal
it's hard for this camp to look any different and I don't blame Jalen Durant for wanting the bag
but again Langdon has stretched this out and Jalen Durant's camp has done the same thing
strategic on their side but now with this you have other options and other ways where they
can look and say hey Ahmed Thompson just got $40 million we just uh we just want the exact amount
now the biggest thing with Jalen Durant regular season is looking at this was a player that was
absolutely dominant the 19.5 and 10.5 points that he put up just last year during the regular season
this was a guy that was on par to getting 40 plus million dollars a dominant force in the paint and
of course almost a steal on the block a game the blocks could have been higher a little fun fact
looking at this Reed Shepard just had about five less blocks than Jalen Durant on the season played
a little more games with so Reed Shepard's only six foot two this is a guy that was dominant when
it came to the regular season jumping straight into the playoffs this is where the numbers started
to stretch in the favor of the Pissons getting them for less of course the numbers did drop quite
a bit but the biggest thing with Jalen Durant and the way his camp is now looking at this
this is a guy that's still young and can continue to grow but with the reports coming out from Brett
Siegel saying that they don't necessarily want to be in Detroit long term that the fact that
for 40 million dollars and he is not budging off that dollar amount now when you're Langdon
you're looking at a world of how do you navigate this world where the cap of course is going to
continue to rise Kate Cunningham at 50 million dollars Sarah Thompson can sign an extension
this offseason which would sign him into the following season where maybe you're looking at
Sarah Thompson and Kate Cunningham combined for over 80 million dollars you add in Jalen Durant
you're up to 120 this is where things get terrifying when you're now looking at the first
apron the second apron look at the Denver Nuggets that is stuck in the second apron losing guys like
Peyton Watson for virtually nothing in a window where Jokic is one of the most dominant players
in the NBA and you're losing legitimate talent because of the cap structure this is a team that
again has to worry do you think this contract Jalen Durant even more committed to his 40 million
speaking on a men you have other people talking about Jalen Durant now sits where there's suddenly
a very obvious 2027 free agency fit the Clippers that is obviously motivated to overpay if the
Pitsons can't find a middle ground a team that just got stripped of five first round picks
their owner suspended for a year Kawhi Leonard's gone to the Raptors making the East even harder
but there are teams that are willing to throw money at Jalen Durant this offseason of course not
but with this team and you're starting to look at how things are unfolding it starts to get scary
in the sense of how does Trajan Langdon fully work this out the qualifying offer Jalen Durant
will not sign it'd be idiotic for a guy to take under 10 million dollars risk maybe an injury
maybe a bad season where he makes less money but if he's truly not budging off that 35 million
range and he wants that 40 his camp truly doesn't want him here you need to start looking at the
long term of this team and how to navigate it again looking from Brett Siegel and I understand
the reports are conflicting they constantly keep pushing through but this one in particular if it
is true you need to start looking at maybe a signing trade which is ridiculous to say a once
fan favorite and I'm still a massive fan of Jalen Durant I understand a lot of people are very
upset me to Detroit fans sucked right now Dylan Larkin wants out of the Red Wings and you have
Jalen Durant reportedly wanting out and not necessarily happy things are starting to get
weird but fans let me know your thoughts in the comments would you trade Jalen Durant what is
your thoughts on the situation what is the max dollar amount you would give them let me know
your thoughts down in the comments that's been it for this episode hope you guys enjoy it hit that
subscribe button we're on the goal to 3,000 subscribers go Detroit basketball and I'll see you in the next one
