China’s Population Under 1 Billion? Visible Collapse: Births Halved, Big City Maternity Wards Empty

China’s National Bureau of Statistics recently released data showing that the country recorded only 7.92 million births in 2025, a drop of 1.62 million from the previous year, down about 17%. Meanwhile, the number of deaths reached 11.31 million.
