Foreign Man Witnesses Major Explosion Near Beijing, Fireball Erupts, Entire Building Collapses
On March 13th, at 7:55 AM, a massive explosion occurred in Yanjiao, Hebei, separated from Beijing's Tongzhou district by only a river. A four-story building in Yanjiao town was completely destroyed by the explosion, leaving only its frame standing. On the day of the explosion in Yanjiao, a foreigner speaking fluent Chinese was surrounded by dozens of people while filming with his mobile phone on the street. A man in black, suspected to be in police in plainclothes, demanded the foreigner show his identification and even attempted to snatch the foreigner's phone. This raises questions: Is this a public effort to catch spies and agents, or is it an attempt by Chinese authorities to tightly control information and deploy suppression forces to prevent the truth from leaking?
