AI GeneratedThe Pittsburgh Steelers are actively refining their roster and practice squad with several new signings. The team is focusing on adding depth across multiple positions while managing ongoing contract negotiations with key players and addressing performance issues during practice.
Some big news to go over today is the Pittsburgh Steelers have made more moves.
It has been a very eventful past few days, past few weeks for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
They continue to make moves, including a very interesting wide receiver.
They have signed a familiar face.
So to break down exactly who that is, discuss what it means going forward.
But not only that, we have some more updates surrounding Joey Porter Jr.
We have Mike Tomlin speaking out about the current Steelers team,
how he views them and a ton more on this episode.
You're going to want to stay tuned to the very end
because there is a lot to go over today, including some injury updates
from today's practice.
But before we get into it, very quick, thank you for all your support.
You guys have been you guys have been unbelievable.
Now, ladies and gentlemen, we do have a lot to discuss today.
And the Steelers continue to make signings as they fill out their roster,
their practice squad, and let's dive into it here.
So the Steelers have signed three more players to the practice squad.
Now, over the past few past few days and past week or two,
there's been a lot of signings.
Obviously, we covered a lot of them on the channel.
We're still waiting for Mr.
Joey Porter Jr. to hopefully extend with the team.
But you could see this here.
They have made multiple signings.
They officially added 16 players to a squad, one short of its maximum
due to Julius Welshof's international exception.
And the Steelers reported
rather the Steelers are signing safety, Juwan Thomas as well.
But they have now made three other signings.
And I want to start with the first name of their signings,
which is a very interesting one.
Now they've signed both.
I mean, we think about this offseason.
They've signed a ton of the players.
They've released some guys, Alain Roberts.
Let's start with Swinson.
So they recently signed Mr.
Swinson.
Brayden Swinson was a fifth round pick in 2025 by the New England Patriots.
He appeared in three games as a rookie,
reporting one solo tackle in limited snaps on defense and special teams.
And that is pro day weighed in at two hundred and fifty five pounds.
So this is interesting.
So they're they're clearly we can kind of dive into them here.
They're clearly doing a lot of their, you know, depth work now.
And you can see they signed defensive back and we'll dive into each one.
Carlin Biggers, linebacker Brayden Swinson and wide receiver Brandon Johnson.
So we'll dive into the one notable name as well here.
And Brandon Johnson in a sec.
But again, Brayden Swinson, he is a linebacker.
And they did need a little bit of depth at that linebacker position.
Here's the scouting report of Brayden Swinson.
One of their I actually like Brayden a lot.
I think it's a sneaky move.
Swinson is an intriguing prospect.
He didn't produce at a high level until his past season
because all the tools and measurables you want in an edge rusher.
He needs to play with better spatial awareness and technique as he fatigues.
But his hand usage as a pass rusher and his play strength as a run defender
makes him a tantalizing prospect.
So getting prospects, you know, formerly fairly highly touted prospects
in the practice squad, or at least guys who have some upside is very interesting,
especially for a team that needs the depth if they want to, you know,
ultimately make the playoffs, which is something that I'm sure
they are trying to push for.
And speaking of making the playoffs, ladies and gentlemen,
you can trade right now on the Steelers making the playoffs.
If you trade $25, you win over $65.
Yes.
$65.
And yes, this video is brought to you by Cal sheet and on Cal sheet.

not the house you're buying.
Yes or no contracts on the outcome of events, sports, politics, or even the
weather, and you can see the example on your screen right now, you can trade.
Yes.
On the Steelers making the playoffs.
It's not just that you can trade.
Yes.
On a variety of things, ladies and gentlemen.

description, trade $25 with code digest and a bell and get $25 added
instantly to your account.
So make sure to check out calcium.
Thank you.
Once again, calcium response video.
Let's dive right back into it and let's move on to the next time.
And I'm again, Braden Swinson, an interesting prospect comments down
below what your thoughts are.
Let's dive into the next name, which is one that we're familiar
with and it is Mr.
Brandon Johnson.
Now you can see here, this is actually not Brandon Johnson.
This is a vigorous, but we'll dive into Brandon Johnson as well.
Johnson is a name that I actually really, really liked.
And he is obviously a wide receiver.
You can see here.
He is the most well-known of the three and returns for a fourth
stint with the Steelers.
He appeared in three games with Pittsburgh in 2024, catching one pass for nine yards.
His best season came in 2023 with the Broncos calling in 19 passes for
nearly 300 yards and four touchdowns.
And we've covered Johnson on the channel for a while.
They've signed him to the practice squad.
Didn't let him go.
Had a very solid season back in 2023 with the Denver Broncos.
The question remains, do they need, you know, depth wide receiving position?
Everybody does, but they do have a lot of, they do have a lot of wide receivers.
At this point, you have DK, you have Pittman, you have Bernard.
You have, uh, you know, some other guys as well.
So I don't know.
It is, you have Roman Wilson.
Of course, Max Herman was brought back.
Will Brandon Johnson see playing time and actually start games?
No.
Could he be used as a special teamer?
Maybe.
Um, but I think he's the most, you know, the option was the most NFL experience.
And yeah, I think he has the potential to come out and continue to fight for spots.
None of these signings are of course game breaking or game changing, but it is
interesting to see them continue to make signings and their third signing of the
day was a, um, was an interesting one.
And it is Mr.
Carlin.
Now, if you're unfamiliar with him, he is a defensive back.
You can see here's an undrafted free agent out of Monroe.
He fits the profile of the tall, long cornerbacks that Pittsburgh
likes to collect at his pro day.
He stood at 188 pounds as he 4.5 50 yard dash was decent in college.
Scouting report for him.
He's an intriguing prospect.
Thanks to his size and length.
He played up against competition and can cover in man to man and always
attracted freight for the position.
His tackling is messy and his production is light while a
lack of long speed is a problem.
So for a DB, for a cornerback, you know, those weaknesses are not ones
you really want to have considering the fact that you're going up against
extremely talented wide receivers in this day and age, we know in order to
be a very decent, you know, cornerback, you kind of have to, uh, kind of
have to be quick on your feet and not have, you know, a lack of long speed.
So comment down below, or any of these intriguing to you, for me, it's
Brandon Johnson and you know, I'm getting to continue to make moves.
Pretty excited by a potential couple of these guys.
I think Brayden Swenson as well has the potential to be solid, especially
with defense and how the depth or lack thereof continues to occur.
But speaking of, we had a lot of updates from practice today, and I
want to start with this right here.
As you can see, Joey Porter jr.
Out there at practice and in today's practice, they are in pads.
And, you know, we've heard a lot of funny comments over the past couple
of days from Aaron Rogers, calling out Roman Wilson and a lot of guys.
We'll probably have a video on that later today, but they are practicing in
pads, Joey Porter jr.
Is out there, still remains, remains, sorry, uh, still remains at an impasse
right now surrounding the front office and him for his contract, it seems like
he's asking for a ton of money and the Steelers aren't necessarily wanting
to give him that right now, but again, we'll kind of see where it goes
surrounding that conclusion, but I want to dive into some comments from Mike
Tomlin that came out today and he spoke about whether or not he's still
going to root for the Steelers.
I'm going to root for those guys because that's just who I am.
I spent 19 years there.
I had a hand in selecting most of those guys.
And so when you have those intimate relationships, certainly that's going
to be a component of viewing for me.
So shout out Mike Tomlin, obviously going to be on TV this year.
I'm excited to hear him on TV.
I'm excited to see what he can actually come out with.
And, um, you know, some insight that he gives when he's not directly on the
field, still a genius football mind.
Did it work out with the Steelers?
I mean, you could argue, I mean, no, in the sense of the, you know, over the
past couple of seasons, but of course they did have some success under him, obviously.
So it's going to be, uh, going to be interesting.
There are a couple of other things as well.
Um, Aaron Rogers called out.
I want to just briefly cover it now.
We'll probably have another video on it later, but Steelers.
So it's not a Samuel jr.
The, uh, of course the cornerback picked off a throw from Aaron Rogers
that was targeted at Roman Wilson.
And another day, another Aaron Rogers calling out somebody this time it is Roman
Wilson, and he confirmed that it was a repeat mistake, but that it's a good
learning experience because I don't think he's going to do that again.
Do you think Aaron Rogers is too harsh on Roman Wilson?
I don't think so.
Roman Wilson, clearly both in the preseason games and practice now have
caused multiple interceptions running the wrong route and stopping early.
So are you upset?
Do you think Roman Wilson should be given another chance, you
know, to actually play a bunch of games?
Where do you guys stand on that?
Thank you guys for watching.
See you later.
