Things just got UGLY for the Steelers...
2 Video Views·Sep 13, 2026
It's obvious now as we just got multiple huge updates surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers
ahead of the big game tomorrow, both on the injury front, but more importantly, Joey Porter
Jr. as there is now less than 24 hours for the Steelers to get the deal done with JPJ.
We have some comments from Joey Porter Jr. himself revealing how he's feeling in a brand
new update that just dropped revealing where things currently stand.
And let me tell you, you're going to want to stay tuned for all of this episode.
There's a lot to go over as well as I can just mention the latest injury reports and
some interesting notes surrounding the rest of the team, Mike McCarthy, the offensive
defense head of the game tomorrow in which Joey Porter Jr. is questionable.
But again, the bigger storyline here is whether he's going to get extended with just hours
remaining until the season starts.
Of course, the Steelers have their classic, classic rule of not extending after.
Before we get into all of it, very quick reminder to hit that subscribe button if you want to
stay up to date the entire year, we're going to have videos every single day, another video
probably coming for you guys tomorrow morning, definitely a video after the game tomorrow,
win or loss.
There's going to be live streams.
Make sure to stay tuned.
Let's dive right into it.
So moments ago here, a report dropped from Jeremy Fowler a couple hours ago talking about
how the clock is ticking on Joey Porter Jr. and the Steelers, and he reports that he's
not optimistic on Joey Porter Jr. getting a new contract, but also went on to say that
basically things are completely status quo right now, and it seems like for JPJ, it is
more so the fact that I think the guarantees seem to be a bit of the problem here.
But it is a little bit concerning when you look at now.
Again, I thought this was going to get done.
There are people speculating that could get done tomorrow morning, which is possible before
the game started, similar to what Christian Gonzalez happened over there in New England
where they got it done the day before the game.
I'm hoping it happens later today.
That being said, we're going to have to wait and see, but the latest report is that they're
not super optimistic, and you can see here, I'm not going to lie, the Steelers are doing
JPJ dirty if this is about guarantees, which appears to be the case.
So the reports kind of and the speculation today is that it's about guarantees, meaning
that the number that might be close in the number, but some of it is not guaranteed.
The Steelers don't want to guarantee him a ton of money.
Now, at the same time, there is a very real possibility that Joey Porter Jr.
is overvaluing himself, right?
And he is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
However, we have some comments from JPJ directly, right?
And the situation is getting a little bit ugly at this point.
But we do have some some comments from JPJ, and I want to dive into him because, again,
he's critical surrounding this team making the playoffs and doing well.
And speaking of making the playoffs, you can trade yes or no.
Whether you think Pittsburgh Steelers are going to make the playoffs, if you trade twenty
five dollars and tell she trade, yes, you can win over sixty five.
And this video is brought to you by Cal.
She were on Cal.
So you're trading directly against other users, not the house like traditional sports books.
You're buying yes or no contracts on the outcomes of events across sports, politics or even
the weather.
They got you covered every step of the way.
And if you want to try out Cal, she use the link in the description, trade twenty five
dollars with Code Digest NFL and get twenty five dollars added to your account instantly.
Yes, that is Code Digest and I'll click the link in the description or the pin comment.
You get twenty five dollars instantly for free.
So, folks, make sure to check out because you think you want to get to Cal for sponsoring
this video.
And let's dive into it a little bit more.
So you can see here from Andrew Filippone again, Filippone take with a grain of salt.
But he said he's not expected to get a contract extension before Sunday.
Take this with a grain of salt.
And Porter is expected to play only a part time role versus Atlanta.
Asante Samuel Jr. will play a lot for up and coming Steelers insider Nick Faribault.
This Joey Porter Jr. situation is ugly.
So that's actually from Nick Faribault.
But again, sometimes, you know, Filippone kind of over exaggerate some things.
But if this is true from Faribault, where he's not expected to get a contract extension,
that is really, really bad news.
Right.
And it means that, OK, let's hypothetically assume that he doesn't get a contract the
rest of the next 24 hours.
Where do the Steelers go from here?
You just play this season out and then there's a good chance that he leaves.
Right.
I don't think he's going to sit out the season.
I think there's actually a very real and strong possibility that he plays in tomorrow's game
against the Falcons.
It's just going to be in a limited role because of his injury.
And as long as he plays out the season, I'm kind of fine with it.
Maybe they revisit it after the season.
But the worry, worrisome part would be, OK, JPJ, it's a great season.
The Steelers, you know, try to pay him and he walks elsewhere because he's a free agent.
Now, you have the franchise tag, which they could use as well to guarantee him another
year.
So there is a lot of situations here.
But it definitely is a little bit ugly, right?
And yeah, I don't know.
It's a little bit interesting.
Now, JPJ, excuse me, spoke out himself.
I hope so, man.
When asked about getting a deal done, that's all I can do is just hope.
He also disputed that he wants to be the highest paid cornerback.
I don't know where that came from.
Whoever made that, I don't really pay too much hype into it.
So he basically confirmed himself that he is not looking to be the highest paid cornerback.
So he's not looking to exceed what Christian Gonzalez got, which is a good sign because
he's not as good as Christian Gonzalez, or at least doesn't deserve to be paid as much
as Christian Gonzalez.
So I'm fine with paying him like top five CB money like he deserves that.
But again, the question will become, what does he mean?
All I can do is hope.
What I think he means is he has an offer on the table to which he would accept from the
front office.
And Omar Khan either doesn't want to give him some of the, you know, I guess guarantees
doesn't want to give him.
Maybe it's the exact amount of money that part we're unfamiliar about.
But man, extensions are happening.
We saw Tucker Kraft literally sign a couple hours ago.
Obviously, Christian Gonzalez, there's a lot of names that continue to get plucked every
single day.
And it's going to be crazy because I mean, it's going to be very important.
And you can see here from Michael Beck, I think the Steelers need to buck up and get
the Joey Porter Jr extension across the finish line.
He was legitimately great last season.
He's young and hasn't battled injury.
If this is truly on all in season like they claim, they must get rid of that contract
talk distraction.
And that's where it becomes interesting.
Do you guys see this as a distraction?
I mean, clearly it is right.
We're all talking about it every single day.
And again, I'm going to bring this up like every video till it happens.
They have been made an offer, right?
They being, you know, Joe Porter's camp, they've been made an offer by the Steelers front office
and it clearly isn't enough.
And as of four days ago, there was an impasse and then reports came out that, you know,
hold your horses.
I think you can get, you know, they think you can get it done.
And then of course, the injury report initially came out last Wednesday about it being, you
know, limited participant.
Like he is still ramping up and then you got to get the deal done.
I think.
And if it's just a matter of, you know, some guarantees, just get it done.
I don't think this is a contract that is going to bite you in the butt.
I just don't think it's going to happen.
I think it's going to be a contract that ages really well.
And we look at some of the matchups, right?
You go up against Atlanta.
Hopefully you can take care of business.
You're going up against Cooper Rush.
But beyond that, not only do you need you have a tough schedule to start the year.
Not only do you need to get the distraction completely, you know, out of the way, but
you play New England, the Patriots, Super Bowl, you know, at Super Bowl team last year,
obviously the loss of Seahawks.
You need hopefully him to be back and not distracted.
After that, you have the Bengals who are prone for a obviously division rival, a very, very
good year.
You want him not to be distracted for that.
If you don't extend them every single time he has a bad game, people are going to be
talking about, oh, is this because of the distraction of the contract, right?
It's the conversation you need to finish.
And this team is in a fantastic spot.
They are fully healthy for the first time in what seems like ages.
Finally, and again, it finished with only J.P.J.
I know this is an older screenshot, but J.P.J.
is the only one who's quote unquote injured.
He is questionable for tomorrow's game.
So we're going to have to wait and see what happens.
It is going to be an absolute burn burner if you want to call it that.
I think it's a game that you need to win.
You're going up against Cooper Rush, the third string quarterback.
That is confirmed.
Have a video on that tomorrow morning, kind of breaking down the latest news.
But kind of got to you got to win.
You got to absolutely win.
Take care of business and and get that rolling.
So I don't know, folks, it's going to be interesting.
One final thing as well.
I do kind of want to want to show this here quickly is from Jay Gruden,
and he has the Steelers beating the Falcons.
I expect Pittsburgh to knock them out first, second round.
This will be a knockout blow.
Pittsburgh can run the ball.
I like the physicality they have running the football.
We go down on Michael Pittman.
I am fired up for tomorrow, folks.
Yes, it's a third string quarterback, but this isn't a Mike Tomlin coach team
anymore, even though he's making some hilarious TV appearances.
Shout out to his Minecraft world.
Comment down below. Your thoughts are.
Are you ready for the game tomorrow?
We'll keep you up to date. More videos coming.
Thank you guys for watching. Go Steelers.
