Houston weather: Scattered rain Friday; Labor Day weekend storms

We got to talk to Mike about Labor Day weekend. It's a big weekend for college football. Oh my gosh. Officially kicks off and oh it's gonna be exciting. Oh we had a whole big thing going on in the Iskovitz household because you know it's my daughter's turning 15 but it's also the first game at Kyle Field up you know Aggieland. So my one daughter was like very torn and she didn't want to miss the first game. So what did she choose? We kind of we convinced her to come home and like your poor sister. You guys are such a close family. I love it. Well yeah thanks. They don't always want me around but you know. Sometimes too close. Yeah sometimes yeah. Okay well let's get into it. So you know we got a nice weekend. Look like you we want to be outside this weekend. I'm not gonna be cooking up like that but I'll be around maybe some people who will and it's going to be a day in which you'll want to pack you know some some patience I would say for actually all three days. Make sure you have a place to scurry in when some of these scattered storms move overhead because we had a chance for storms each of the next three days will taking us into saturday sunday and monday. The highest chance looks to be tomorrow for getting in on some of the heavier downpours. We still have the slight risk for flooding for tomorrow. This is an area that was getting in on some rain recently right here in the Galleria. Most of that has passed by but there are still some slick streets out there. So be careful. Calm winds and 81 degrees. Now here's a look at some of that rain that did make its way through the Galleria area. It's now over here to see Meadows place and mission bend and heading up to around um bunker hill. That's where we have some of the rain coming down right now. We have, we did have a big flare up of storms over here that seems to have sort of calmed down over by Anahuac but still a little rain over there. Temperatures are near 80. It's really humid out there for this morning. So make sure that you're prepared for that. Morning showers give way to, here we go. Some scattered afternoon storms. The chances are a little higher today that some of you that have missed out on some of the recent rain like south of I-10 might get a little bit more today, at least the scattered variety. And here's the outlook for tomorrow. You're going to see these storms blossoming there once again as we head into tomorrow afternoon. So don't let your guard down for the Labor Day weekend. It's not going to be a washout but the chances are pretty good especially in the afternoons on saturday and then even heading into sunday monday that you'll have to dodge a few showers and storms.
