Good morning, welcome to your Friday.
Meteorologist Cody Mansfield.
Look at that forecast is the heat is
building across the area once again today.
Heat advisory for the seven
county Twin Cities Metro.
Heat index 95 plus this afternoon,
but with storms passing
through northern Minnesota,
there is a weak little cold
front actually rolling southward.
It's actually a shove that
boundary southward and so.
Dew points will get trimmed
back just a little bit,
at least in the metro through the day today.
So wake up dew points in the tropical
low to mid 70s Category 60s across
northern Minnesota.
But as we go work through the day,
some of that drier air will
start to filter southward,
so we'll go from low 70s dew
points to the middle 60s.
Still plenty humid,
but just not as quite as tropical
feeling southern Minnesota look
mid to borderline upper 70s.
In terms of dew points will stay
that way as we head into Saturday.
The Metro probably hold somewhere
in the mid to upper 60s with far
more comfortable air across
portions of the north.
Check out future cast.
There comes the little bit of
cloud cover will start with that
on her Friday, but breaking in
plenty of midday and afternoon.
Sunshine is going to be hot.
It's going to be steamy.
It's going to feel a lot like July
as opposed to early September.
Clouds will roll back in this
evening and tonight with some
patchy overnight fog as well.
A little bit of a northeasterly breeze,
maybe a scattered shower or storm
across extreme southwestern Minnesota.
We break through all that once again.
Saturday afternoon,
maybe not quite as hot,
not quite as steamy,
but pretty close and then we'll
trim that back a little more as
southeasterly breezes kick in on Sunday.
Maybe a little added cloud cover as well.
Hold back temperatures just a little bit
and maybe give us some storm chances
by Sunday evening Sunday night as
they roll out of portions of the
eastern Dakotas for your Friday though.
It's going to be hot 92 feeling like
97 here in the Twin Cities without
heat advisory in place.
Plenty of low 90s.
The 94 corridor sections of
southwestern Minnesota.
Much cooler to the north,
so a much different feel for that
North Shore in areas north of Lake Superior.
That's where they'll be in the 50s tonight.
Plenty of upper 60s and low 70s
for the rest of us.
Some cloud cover arriving in the
overnight hours will start with a
bit of that on Saturday but break
into plenty of midday and afternoon.
Sunshine will trim temperatures
back ever so slightly.
Going for a high of 90s,
some 90s in southwestern Minnesota.
Cooler 70s once again across
portions of the north.
Check out that 70 forecast.
There's trimming back the heat a little bit.
Will be a little more comfortable on
Sunday with a high of 85 chances.
Storms return Sunday evening,
Sunday night and we may hang on to
isolated storm chances through Labor Day
and into Tuesday, but still plenty warm.
The humidity will last in a lot of
80s through much of next week.
