Building A Secret House Under A Massive Rock | 90-Day Solo Build | Full Process

I found a giant rock deep in the forest and built a secret house underneath it — the rock itself is the roof.

The overhang does what no timber or metal sheet can replicate — solid, permanent, and already there. I built the walls from wood and fieldstone directly into the space beneath it, closing off the open sides and turning a natural shelter into a real structure. Every wall fitted tight to the rock face above, every gap sealed against wind and rain. The stone overhead isn't just cover — it's the reason the whole build is possible, and the reason it will outlast anything built above ground.

Inside: furnished and set up for long stays. Outside: invisible unless you know exactly where to look.
