#housedesign#concretehouse#tropicalhouse Aguá House, designed by BOLO Arquitetos, is a modern summer home located on a 100m² plot in Praia do Capricórnio, Caraguatatuba, Brazil. The project aimed to create a comfortable and low-maintenance weekend retreat for a family, utilizing reinforced concrete to minimize structural interference with the layout. The house showcases exposed concrete, raw brick, and strategic glass openings, embracing the beauty of the materials themselves. The design inverts conventional spatial logic by placing intimate areas on the ground floor and common areas on the upper floor, optimizing natural light, ventilation, and views of the sea, mountains, and treetops. The ground floor features four suites around a landscaped central courtyard, enhancing the connection with nature. This innovative approach results in a bright, airy, and functional home that blends brutalist and modernist touches.

Welcome to the beautiful Agua House House Tour,
an exceptional project by Bolo Arquitetos
located in Praia do Capricornio, Caraguatachaba, Brazil.
In this video, we will explore every detail
of the design of this house,
designed for comfort and practicality of maintenance
as a vacation home for families.
The construction of this house
began with an in-depth site analysis.
Located on a 100 square meters plot,
this house is part of a subdivision
dating back to the 1970s.
The land has been owned by the client's family for decades,
and they wanted to create a new summer house
that could be a gathering place for the whole family.
The challenge for the architects
was to overcome preexisting features
to create a comfortable and easy to maintain weekend house.
The choice of materials focused heavily
on the authenticity and beauty of the materials themselves.
The perimeter walls and facade are made of concrete
with an in-situ curtain system.
Additionally, raw brick is prominently featured
in the cabogos and the spiral staircase
leading to the upper floor.
These elements,
combined with common masonry internal partitions,
strategic glass openings, and wooden window frames,
give the house a strong brutalist and modernist touch.
One of the most striking features of this house
is its innovative use of reinforced concrete.
The structure of the house was designed
to minimally interfere with the layout of the spaces,
with many parts of the structure left exposed.
An inverted beam system is used only on the upper floor
to maintain the broad visual span desired for the project.
Here, we find a pleasant, airy, and bright space.
From here, you can enjoy views of the sea,
mountains, and treetops,
creating a strong connection with nature.
There is a large living room integrated with the kitchen,
a bathroom with a walk-in shower,
and an uncovered outdoor space
that receives constant sunlight.
On the ground floor, a comfortable and spacious area
is created with plenty of natural light and ventilation.
The architects designed strategic openings and pathways
so that the initially enclosed space on three sides
now feels pleasant, comfortable, and spacious.
Here, we find four suites, two of them with shared bathrooms,
facing a central landscaped courtyard
that brings a touch of nature into the building.
Additionally, there is a wide main circulation area
from the entrance door to the staircase
leading to the upper floor,
and a technical area next to the entrance
with cabogos that allow for privacy
and the entry of light and ventilation.
The design of this house was based on an analysis
of site constraints and the client's needs.
The clients requested a large recreational area
with plenty of natural light and ventilation,
as well as four comfortable suites.
The main challenge was the neighboring buildings
and the limited land space.
The architects' innovative solution
was to invert the usual logic
by placing the intimate areas on the ground floor
and the common areas on the upper floor.
This inversion of spatial configuration
works well for a weekend house.
So, this is Agua House by Bolo Arquitetos.
The house successfully combines the beauty of its structure
with high comfort and functionality.
