DC weather: Hot, humid Thursday with isolated showers and storms

Tucker Barnes now joins us with the latest look at the forecast. It's my bus buddy. Yeah. We ride the bus together. Long story. Yeah. Folks want to know. But yeah. That was a good trip. Yeah, it was. Yeah. We're metro riders and we saw each other. It was kind of cool. Yeah. I saw the party list that you're going to talk about. My school didn't make it. Oh, really? Yeah. I was kind of disappointed. Well, if you're there. I mean, that was really a party back then. Well, you know, back when I went to college, it was different. People went nonstop. They don't even know how to party right. OK. 82 in Washington. I'm just kidding. Now, with us out here at 6. Guess what? What? Another hot, sweaty day in front of us. Low 90s by late afternoon. And the ever-present threat of a shower or thunderstorm. And we stay in the soup. In fact, we've got midday here. Storms on the radar. And we'll have to track them carefully here. As we'll probably see a couple waves of showers and storms. What's been happening, guys, as they approach our region, we have just enough dry air overhead that we're watching this going on. just some occasional showers or storms coming in from southwest Pennsylvania over the next couple of hours. Overall, the pattern won't change until that front you see up in the Great Lakes, up near Cleveland, can sag into the region. Stationary at the moment. It will become a cold front later today. It will finally, finally squash the heat and humidity to the south by late Friday and early Saturday. And we're still trending towards a beautiful weekend. so we have to get through this afternoon, we have to get through tonight and tomorrow with the possibility of showers and thunderstorms and a lot of heat and humidity and then we should see nicer conditions for the weekend. That's 10 o'clock tonight. Could there be a round of thunderstorms? There sure could, although it's anybody's guess exactly when this takes place because I'll be honest with you, the modeling with small scale showers and thunderstorms isn't doing a great job here and that's tomorrow afternoon. But what I really want to share with you is the possibility of showers and storms in the forecast later this afternoon, tonight and then again tomorrow afternoon. I do think we'll be dry for our zip trip tomorrow morning to come out and see us down at Nashville Harbor, but most importantly, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, you get some pool time in, get some time in with the family for Labor Day. If you're going to D.C. Jazz Fest or any myriad of outdoor activities, it should be a beautiful weekend. Yeah, obviously we kick it all off tomorrow during the zip trip. You will be there, to which I now have to say happy early birthday because I'm not going to see you tomorrow. We're birthday buddies, aren't we? Yeah, he's celebrating Saturday. I'm celebrating, I don't know, two or three weeks later. Okay, well, we'll just keep the party going. Yeah, come out and see us at Nashville Harbor. It should be a fun afternoon or a fun morning.
