He describes his rebellious nature at Apple, where he gave unauthorized discounts to customers, eventually leading to a corporate investigation and his decision to quit before being fired.
I was working at the Apple store. I worked retail for like 10 years and uh
I worked at the container store for three years. I don't know if you know what that is.
That's a store that sells containers.
And I did customer service. I answer people's
phone calls about containers and ----. People will call in and be like
hey can I put this in that? It's like yes you can.
I'm serious. I'm serious. Those are the questions that came to me.
I would have people call in ask about a product and they'd be like
what can I put in this? Whatever the **** you want. Sky's the limit.
That's right. Y'all missed that. Y'all missed the part of the show where I was threatening people.
What do you want? You want this bro?
Shit's so goofy dude.
Yeah I worked there for three years. Then I worked at the Apple store for like
six. No no no no no no I can't. I don't know what's in that.
Oh ---- no no no no no. You weren't lying bro. That's good.
And then I worked at the Apple store for uh
I worked there for six years and back in 2017 I quit. So I do this full-time now and
that's where I quit. I quit because they were gonna fire me. They were gonna fire me.
They were gonna fire me. Yeah I was gonna get fired. I really was because I was giving
everybody discounts at the Apple store. This is in Santa Monica. I gave everybody.
Did you give people discounts? You never did? Bro I gave. I'm serious. For three years I gave
people discounts before I quit. For three years I was giving discounts. I was like Oprah if you
came in and asked for a discount I'd be like you get a discount. You get a discount. You get a
discount. Si se puede. You know? And I remember I was working. I had this co-worker named Lisa
and you know you know who I'm talking about. You know who I'm talking about.
I'll use her by her first name. I don't give a ---- because Lisa Lisa there's two types of people
at a job that doesn't mean anything. You know like uh when you gotta clock in and clock. Is
anybody here at a bullshit job? We're gonna clock in and clock out. They're like working at Starbucks
and what do you do bro? And I'm not here and I'm not I'm not here to talk ---- about it. I'm just
I'm being real like you know what kind of work you do? Raising canes. Raising canes? The chicken
place? All right for sure. Okay so you'd be clocking in clocking out and you know can you get discounts
there? Can you get discounts? Do you get discounts? Do you? Good man. Give it up for this guy.
Because because I'll tell you what there's two types of people at a job right? There's two
there's the person that drinks the Kool-Aid and there's the person that makes the Kool-Aid. You
know what I'm saying? And Lisa was a maker for sure. She'd be making the Kool-Aid you know.
And I and I does anybody here work at Apple? Any? You still work there? You don't work there right?
And so like Lisa came up to me after the shift and she was like Morgan did you give those people
a discount? And I was like yeah I did yeah I did Lisa. I didn't do that. I didn't do that. I was like
and then uh she was like why? And I was like because Lisa this ---- is expensive like why else?
She couldn't she was so befuddled and she couldn't wrap her brain around that like I was
a rule breaker you know like oh what do you mean he just gave a discount to these people for no
reason? What are you talking about? And I was like Lisa if you're mad about this I have been stealing
for years. What did you steal? You didn't steal? Kool-Aid making ad? I was kidding.
No I and I stole for sure. I stole for sure. I don't know I remember this part isn't even
funny. This has really happened. I walk next time I clock in one of the managers was like
there's no joke here. Like this really they call me into the office and they're like uh
hey Morgan can you walk us through that last transaction of the day? Like what's going on
you know? And I was like you know uh I was just trying to delight and surprise customers you know
like you like using the jargon that they they throw at you you know. I was like I didn't want
to bother you with this so I was like you know you seem to be really busy. We were like launching a
new iPhone and some ---- so you're like okay uh well next time you're gonna have to like really
you know talk to us. And then a week later I had a meeting with another manager like a higher-up
manager and she was really cool because she really liked me. I was like a pretty you know for the
most part like I speak three languages. I helped everybody out. I was like I took care of all the
Brazilian customers asking for Wi-Fi you know what I'm saying like. Hey 32 giga Wi-Fi. So I was
good um you know and uh she was like again there's no joke here that she was like trying to coach me
like through the questions because they're like Morgan they're gonna ask you some certain
questions because they are gonna do a deep dive in all your transactions. I was like okay so then
I walked out of her office and I typed an email I said I'm out you know. I'm out of here. I ain't
going out like that. You know what's funny about that job is that when you quit or you leave they
clap for you. They clap on your last day. Nobody clapped for me. They didn't like me. They didn't
like me. I was like Robin Hood you know what I'm saying. Thank you. Thank you. He still don't clap.
Thank you bro. All I'm saying is ow. All I'm saying is we just connected here. All I'm saying is give
the discount. It doesn't matter. Sea levels are rising. All right give the discount wherever you
work bro. Just give it. What do you do bro? Yeah what do you do? You work in finance. **** you bro.
------- 1% ass over here. No I'm just messing with you dude. What does that mean? Are you like uh
what does that mean? What does that mean? Are you like trading or what are you doing?
I help sell companies. Investment banking. Investment banking. Are you like an Eastern
European basketball player? Why do you sound like that? Where are you from? Italy.
Are you Italian too? Nah you just plain American person.
You get the citizenship? I can get mine too. I've been meaning to get mine because my dad was born
in Sicily you know. But everything moves hella slow in Italy. They're always drinking wine and
doing nothing over there. They ain't doing nothing there. Yeah man I'm trying to get like I remember
I did all right in the physical. Remember the physical fitness tests growing up? You guys still
do that? The president like the you ever did that with the national award of the presidential
fitness award? Like anybody who did that? I thought that ---- was so stupid. It was like
as if the president's in his office like how many push-ups can Mike Grabowski in eighth grade do?
Remember those people that couldn't do a pull-up they just vibrated on the bar?
It's like Shane relax you're gonna burst into a thousand butterflies.
People hate it and the mile run was the worst thing of all time.
Remember the mile run? You would find a way to not be there. You'd go to a you literally would
you'd rather take a whole day to go to a doctor get a note so you couldn't do the mile run.
Some of you guys shouldn't be. Oh autotune right? I'm the guy you just figured it out. I'm the
autotune guy on tiktok right? What's your name bro? Ethan.
