Fall plants are now available at area garden centers

Meteorological fall began Sept. 1, with the official arrival of fall scheduled for Sept. 22. As cooler weather approaches, local gardening experts recommend starting seasonal maintenance and planting tasks now.
It's now September, and while it might not feel like it's a day, the weather has been getting a little cooler recently.
That's right. 22 News Storm Team Meteorologist Adam Stremko is working for you with a sign that fall is not that far away.
Well, Ciara and Christina, we're now starting to see some fall plants and decorations showing up at area garden centers.
While fall doesn't officially arrive until September 22nd, meteorological fall began on September 1st.
And with cooler weather on the way, there are some things you can be doing in your garden right now.
You can work in your vegetable gardens and replant a fall crop.
That'll take the cool weather.
You can also get into your perennial gardens.
Anything that's dying back, you can cut back and prune.
And with cooler temperatures just around the corner, there are plenty of fall plants available right now.
This time of year, people are more interested in fall decorating.
So there's hearty mums.
There's grasses.
There's, you know, pumpkins.
You know, anything to say fall is here.
Steve Bordenuck from 16 Acres Garden Center says this is a good time of year to reseed any dead areas in your lawn.
And this is also a good time to plant trees as well as shrubs.
