Hey, everyone. Welcome back. Happy Thursday. Here's our gorgeous live cameras across the state.
Flagstaff, Sedona, Tempe, Downtown Phoenix looking pretty calm for the most part.
We do have some active weather, though, to highlight for you as you join us this evening,
and that's impacting some parts of the state, mainly south and east of us.
Before we get to that, though, let's talk about the temperatures, shall we?
103, that was the high that we hit for today. That is just one degree below average.
The norm sitting at 104 this morning, a doable 86 degrees.
Not too bad with temperatures continuously dropping as we head into this Labor Day weekend.
And we do have some changes as we head into this holiday weekend as far as moisture is concerned.
But on the topic of those temperatures, 101, as you join us here in Phoenix,
we do have 88 degrees for our friends out in Kingman, 70s out in Flagstaff, 84 in Sedona,
and for our folks out in Globe and Upper 80s at 86 degrees towards Winslow.
Those dew points, we're starting to feel it in the air.
The moisture is quite tropical as we head towards the valley.
60 is our dew point the further south we go.
You can see areas such as Tucson sitting at a very tropical 67 dew point.
And you can see it with Fox Vision showing off a lot of that precipitation has been mainly centered across the south,
southeast of the state, pushing further east into New Mexico.
As we zoom in a little bit closer here across the Phoenix metro, things are pretty quiet.
We can't rule out the possibility for some passing showers later on tonight.
But we are starting to see some shower activity developing across parts of Maricopa County near Gila Bend.
That was earlier this evening, but mainly now centered towards Pinal County.
You can see some organized cells producing some brief and heavy downpours of rain.
The potential for some lightning heading near Casa Grande.
That's going to continue to push further northeast we go.
But as you can see, just zooming in closer, we do have pockets of precipitation that will continue on.
And that will continue to push further northeast as we head into the nighttime hours.
And again, you can see shower activity is still going to continue on.
This mainly in the outskirts of the valley.
And that's going to be for 7 o'clock in the morning for your Friday forecast along the Gila Bend.
Near Globe is where we are looking at some pretty heavy rain, especially further east we go.
So as far as this weekend, you can see the start of it Saturday looking pretty calm for the most part.
We'll have some high clouds forming, but it looks as though our better chances for receiving activity will be for today and tomorrow.
Here in the valley, better chances of seeing some lightning, gusty winds and blowing dust.
But overall, it does look as though chances could be minimal for tonight.
Speaking of tonight, 83 just about here in Phoenix, 68 in Sedona, 53 in Flagstaff.
Tomorrow's temperatures dropping down even more.
102 just about is our forecasted high in Phoenix.
10-day Foxcast, there you have it.
20% chance for some rain for your Friday and beautiful holiday weekend.
Take a look at that.
We're going to be either slightly below or near average with next week also bringing in some possible rain chances.
