Uh, you can go now. Okay. Okay. Sorry. Sorry. Okay. Here we go. Here we go. Okay.
So it's, uh, it's good to be back.
Hey everyone, we want to welcome you to today's podcast. I'm your host, Don Boyer.
And I'm Melinda Boyer. And we've got a show for you today. It's going to be a good one.
Hey, have you ever thought about money? Well, I think everybody has that on their mind. And today
we're going to take a deep dive on that particular subject. We'll be right back.
Okay. Well, this is going to be a great show today. We're really excited. I'm really excited
to ask Don a question about prosperity. There's a lot of confusion about prosperity and what is it
that it says in the Bible or what is the truth about prosperity? You know, I don't think there's
a hotter topic, uh, about the Bible among Christians than money and prosperity. So
there's two camps or trains of thought, but what we're really interested in is what does the Bible
really say? So we have one group over here that says that there are anti-prosperity. They don't
believe that God prospers people. Um, there's a lot of critics in that area. There has been a lot
of mismanagement with funds throughout history, even in the Old Testament, uh, when it comes to
money. And then you have the camp or the believers that believe in prosperity, that God tells us that
he's going to prosper us and that he is going to, uh, take our finances and expand them in our life.
Right. What we want to find out with this, what does the Bible really say? Right. We can go on
for 10 shows and talking about prosperity and, and what's the truth about it. But it goes down
to simply this. If you really want the answer, it is so simple. In John 10, 10, Jesus said the thief
came not to but to kill, steal, and destroy. He said, but I've come to give you life and life
more abundantly. Right. Right. So we cannot say that poverty, we cannot say that lack of funds
is a, an abundant life. And when we talk about lack of funding or lack of funds, it robs us. It steals
us. It, it causes us to want things that we can't have that God wants us to do. So the bottom line
is this. When we look at God's word, he told us this, he said, seek ye first the kingdom of God
and all these things shall be added unto you. Now, where is the kingdom of God? The Bible says
the kingdom of God is on the inside of us. Right. You know, Bob Proctor, he, um, he wrote a book
called You Were Born Rich. And for those of you who don't know who Bob Proctor was, he was a
motivational, um, trainer and leader and taught about different laws of business. And he wrote
a book called, uh, You Were Born Rich. Well, I've had a lot of Christians that tell me,
hey, I don't want God to make me wealthy. I said, it's too late. We were born again wealthy.
So it's, it's not a matter if you don't want God to make you rich. When you got born again,
because the kingdom of God is inside of you, you were born rich. Now, go ahead. Well, one,
I just want to stop you there for just a minute because, you know, I think people have it wrong
when it comes to, this is just my perspective. I think people have it wrong when they, when it
comes to being rich or being wealthy. Does it really mean that you have a lot of money? I don't
know that that's what it really means by you having a lot of money. I mean, we should be
happy with what we have. We should be, to me, that's prosperity. That's part of prosperity,
but take a gentleman like, um, President Trump. If he only made in his business a million dollars
a year, he would feel like he was completely broke. But you take most Americans and you drop
them with a million dollar income, they'll feel rich. So it's a matter of perspective. But here's
the truth of the matter is there's only so much that we need. There's only so much that we can
consume, but it takes a lot of money to reach the world with the gospel. Absolutely. So when we talk
about prosperity, it's just not about us. It's about advancing the kingdom of God. How many
are funding the homeless? How many are feeding the children around the world that are starving?
There's not very many. Right. Exactly. Why not? Because they don't have the money. Right.
Right. They don't have the finances. But is it, but I mean, think about it. Is it,
is it really that you don't have the money or that, I mean, there's resources, there's,
there's people, I mean, you can make food for them, you know, and give it to them.
Yeah. It doesn't necessarily have to be money. Right. It's a perspective. It is absolutely
perspective. Right. Here's the thing. If we believe that prosperity is on the outside of us,
we're going to lose the financial game every single time because the kingdom of God is on
the inside. The wealth is on the inside of us, not on the outside. I think Apostle Leroy Thompson
wrote a book. Yes. You know, and he did. So let's talk about this. Apostle Leroy Thompson wrote,
never go after money and money will come after you, which I find very interesting because
I think people chase money all the time. And this is something that he talks about is
stop chasing it because it's there. It's called the hustle. Right. Hard work, hard work. And,
you know, and we've talked about this quite a few times, I think in the past,
or that, you know, you're working so hard for money because you got to pay your bills. You
got to pay your mortgage. You got, you know, you got to take care of your kids.
But I think, I think there's something there. There's a gap in the middle that will stop you
because you're, you're, you're working so hard. When I think it comes down to having faith in God
to know that he's going to take care of things for us. But I, I think people don't believe that
because it's, I think it's too easy. Well, exactly. So here we go back to Proverbs 10, 22.
He said, the blessing of the Lord makes us rich and he adds no toil. If you look up the Hebrew
word toil, it means hard work or labor or sorrow. So the fact of the matter is we don't chase money.
The world is chasing money, but we were never designed to chase money. If you go back to the
book of Deuteronomy, it says that if we obey his voice, that money will chase us down and
overtake us. So when we're talking about with, with the Apostle Leroy Thompson's book, what he's
really talking about is that, again, if we think money, we believe that money's out there, it's in
the customer, it's in the client, it's in the partners. So if we have to believe that it's out
there, we got to go get it. We got to go hustle. We got to go work. We got to, we got to find out
marketing strategies. And, and you look at all the businesses in the world, that's what they do in
their boardroom. Got to figure out how we're going to get more clients, how are we going to get more
business, how are we going to make more profit? Because they believe that wealth is on the outside
of them. But the fact of the matter is the kingdom of God is on the inside of us. So everyone is
looking to receive. Yeah. But the real key is you release it. If wealth is inside of you, then you're
going to release that wealth out into your physical domain. Let me ask you this. When you say
release it, are you visually seeing it being released and coming back to you? That's part of it.
Of course, yeah. We're using our imagination. Right. We're seeing it by our eyes of faith. We're speaking
it with our words. When you realize that all prosperity and wealth is on the inside of you,
you'll begin to realize that you are wealthy right now. You're not going to get wealthy.
Yeah. God's not going to, going to make you wealthy. He already did. We were born rich when
the kingdom of God came on the inside. So now it is all responsibility to walk like Jesus did.
When he was there with feeding 5,000 plus people, he had five loaves, two fishes, right? He wasn't
going out. The disciples said, where are we going to go get all this food to feed these people?
Right. He didn't do that. He released the wealth that was inside of him that multiplied the
manifestation. At the wedding, when they ran out of wine, he multiplied it because the wealth was
already inside him and he just released it. So that's why Mary, his mother, told the servants,
do whatever he says. He doesn't even do whatever he does. He says, do whatever he says to do.
So Jesus had to release that money that was inside of him, that wealth, that abundance,
that prosperity. That's how it's done. When you realize that, you'll never chase money again.
Yeah. And I think we go back to the fact of people think that it's so easy that it's almost
unbelievable, right? But it's really that easy. When I was younger, I remember having all these
great jobs and my friends used to tell me, how do you get it? I go, I didn't think that I couldn't.
If you're thinking that you can't do it, you won't.
Yeah, exactly. And there's a difference between labor and work. Work consists of doing things
that we're called to do, our passion, something that we would love to do, something that we don't
even need to get paid for because we love it so much. It's like being on vacation. That's kingdom
work. Labor is what we see every day when we go to the gym and the freeway is jam-packed on the
other side. People are going to a job that they hate, working with people they can't stand,
or are paid that doesn't meet all their bills. Now that's labor. That's called the Babylonian
system. And in fact, in our next show, we'll cover that area because that's where a lot of
So if we're waiting for God to prosper us, then we're going to be waiting a long time because
he already has prospered us. It's like somebody, and we're coming to the end of our show here,
but I'll end it with this. A lot of people have the idea that money's on the outside,
but if somebody came in and dropped a million dollars in somebody's bank account,
whether they use it or not is irrelevant. The depository has been made. That's how God does
with us. The kingdom of God is on the inside of us. So that wealth is there, but you and I have to
release it. I like the fact that you said the kingdom's work, right? The kingdom's work,
exactly. Yeah. So that's, I think that's something that we need to remind everybody
is go find your kingdom's work. Look for what it is that you are really meant to do. You know,
what do you, what are you really, really meant to do? And I think that's something that we've
talked about too, and we'll have to go into that deeper on our next show. Absolutely. So make sure
you join us next podcast, where we go into a deeper dive and understanding the real fact
about money and the Bible. We'll see you next time. Bye for now.
