Hey everyone, we want to welcome you to our podcast today. I am your host Dawn Boyer.
And I'm Linda Boyer.
And do we have a show for them today?
Absolutely. It's going to be continued. I can't wait.
We'll be right back. We finished the last podcast talking about a very deep subject
on the question you asked me is if the Bible talks about healing,
why are so many Christians being sick today? And not just the laity, but some of our most
profound leaders in Christianity that have taught faith healing for decades,
yet they themselves are going through physical issues. And I think this is the first time
that we have as a church come to address these matters on an open platform.
Yes, yes.
Which I think is important because a lot of people have this on their mind.
Why if the Bible teaches divine healing, are people sick?
And then everybody else has their own perception of...
Everyone has their own perception. But the fact of the matter is,
when we're true believers and we believe this word, and we believe that Jesus carried not
only our sins, but our sicknesses and diseases on the cross, we believe that.
Why is it then the physical body breaks down with sickness and disease?
And we covered a lot of topics on the last program. A lot of it, if not most of it,
is the devil doesn't need to make us sick because we do it to our own cells.
We do it through our own lifestyle, by the things that we eat,
the things that we drink, lack of exercise. There's a variety of things that we do ourselves.
Yeah. And when I see my dad, what he was going through, there was just a point where he just
gave up and said, I just want to go home. I don't want to do this anymore.
And I asked you not too long ago, do you think it's like... Is there a book in heaven
where that there's our time, our contract that says, this is the day that you're going to go home?
I mean, what are your thoughts on that? I'd like to know that.
That is a thought line that a lot of people have believed in, that you have a day that's
written in heaven. And once that comes up, that's it. You don't want to be on that plane with that
person whose numbers comes up. So, but I don't believe that that's true. I don't believe that's
scripted true with the word of God. I think that we choose our own time. The Bible tells us that
we have a time span of 120 years. So when we look at that, we start asking ourselves,
what can we do? And why are we dying in like our seventies? And not me, I ain't dying at no 70,
I'll tell you that right now. But that's the average lifespan. Why is that? So no, I don't
think that we have a book in heaven that says, okay, you're going to die on June 10th at X, Y,
Z date. I believe that sometimes when we get so sick and we cannot hold fast our faith in God's
word for divine healing, then a lot of times we just want to go home because we're suffering so
much. Well, yeah, I think our mind is playing with us too, right? I mean, you're in so much pain,
people are in so much pain. I mean, they just want to give up. I know my dad did, right? I know my
mom did. So where is that switch I think in our minds where we have to say, I am going to fight
through this. And there's so many women that I've heard that have beaten breast cancer or even
cancer or men too, prostate cancer, they're believing for that and they're healed. But then
there's those other people who completely give up and their mind just completely takes over
everything and they end up dying. So I think we've been in the self-help industry for so long,
right? And we understand that the fact that our words, what we're saying is strong. And we've
been working on that, right? Of just listening very carefully to how we're saying things.
Life and death is in the power of our words. That's absolutely true. So is that part of what
people need to see is, one, what are we thinking? Two, what are we saying? And three,
what are we believing for? Right. And all of that contributes to the results that we have in life.
Yeah. So when we were really going through this, I began to ask the Lord, I said, Lord, you need to
please show me what and where is the main secret or cause for manifestation of healing in our body.
And he took me, and by the way, this particular book was written by Kenneth Hagin years and years
ago. And this little book, God's Medicine, I've used for 30 years. But he took me back to
the book of Proverbs 4.20 and 22. He says, my son, attend to my words, incline thy ear unto my sayings,
let them not depart from your eyes, keep them in the midst of your heart, for they are life unto
those that find them and health to all their flesh. That word health in a good reference Bible
translate that word as medicine. So God's word is medicine to all our flesh. Are we doing this?
The answer is no. No. Most people are not here. And here's what happens. Because they don't do
this on when they're healthy. When they get sick, they're behind the eight ball. Yeah, they want to
run to this. But the house is already almost burnt down. Yeah, you need to start meditating on this
before the fire even starts, right? So that if a little flicker, or a little smoke comes into
the house, then you know how to fight it, you know how to fight it, and you can take it out
easily. Yes. The other thing I think that we all need to recognize is that our bodies are not us.
Our bodies is just our earth suit. Yes. It's it's it's the temple of the Holy Spirit. Now think
about this. In the Old Testament, the priest would have to clean the temple and keep it clean,
keep all the altars clean, the basins clean. Right. If our body not if our body is the temple
of the Holy Spirit, God gives us the responsibility to keep it clean.
But most folks, the way they keep it clean is through eating donuts, you know,
ding dongs and soda and all kinds of stuff. Pancakes. Pancakes does not go there. Pancakes.
So we're not keeping the temple clean. Yeah. What happens if you don't clean your house?
Before long, it looks like a rat's nest. It looks like the monster's house. It looks like
the monster's house. Exactly right. Right. So the fact of the matter is we are responsible
to keep our body clean. We need to exercise it. We need to be aware of the what we're,
you know, putting on our body, our skin. The epidermis is the largest organ of the body.
Yet we're shampooing our hair with chemicals. Yeah, we're putting all kinds of stuff on our
bodies that that are toxin to our system. We're not really paying attention to how we're living.
And polluting the temple. And then we come back and say, well, how did I get sick? Well,
you haven't been cleaning the temple. And I think that's a very important part of this whole area
of learning how to manifest God's healing promises. But here's what I also want to put in.
Betty Price is in her 90s. She survived cancer and living in her 90s.
Joe Olson's mom fought cancer and lived into her 90s. Marilyn Hickey went out home without
any sickness or disease, and she was in her 90s. There are a lot of people that are walking out
God's promises. Yeah. Even though they were afflicted by sickness and disease. That's why
Paul said, fight the good fight of faith. What is fighting the good fight of faith?
It's holding fast to God's word, even when the circumstances seem to talk and say something
opposite. Well, you know, you say that. And I thought about this last night. I thought,
you know, all these people who are sick, everybody wants to focus on that sickness, right? Oh,
they're sick. And they talked about healing. But nobody realizes what victories they've had.
Right. That's what we need to focus on. Yes. And I think they overshadow the victory
because everybody wants to focus on the negative. Right. Right. Here's what the enemy always does.
He wants to push us into areas that we don't understand. Rather than we staying focused
on what we do understand. What do we understand? By his stripes, we are healed. And we focus and
stay on that. That doesn't mean that we ignore symptoms. We don't deny when we're attacked
in our physical body with sickness and disease. But what we are saying is that we are attacking
that because it doesn't have the legal right to be there. Yeah. Now here's something that will
a lot of believers have not come to understand and may have a hard time realizing this. But the
reason why many times healing doesn't happen, I believe, is because we don't authorize God
to do that healing. Yeah. Well, wait a minute. I thought God could do anything. Yeah. God asked the
man laying at the pole of Bethesda, will you be healed? He asked the blind man, what do you want
me to do for you? Now, to the natural man, that sounds ridiculous. A blind man comes to you for
healing and you ask him, you ask Jesus. Jesus asked him, what do you want me to do for you? Yeah. You
know, my eyeballs are not working too good right now, Jesus. You know, but you know, I got a corn
on my toe, but I would rather just have my eye. No. Jesus had to get permission. That man had to
authorize Jesus to heal him. So we have to give God permission. We have to authorize God to let
his word work in our life. And then we have to tell the devil, you are not authorized to bring
sickness and disease on my body. You are not authorized to put pain in my body. Well, you know,
I want to ask you this too, because, you know, we've had a lot of speakers come into
our other movies and everything, and they always talk about forgiveness, right? And there's so much
trauma that I know women have gone through, and then it develops later on in our bodies, right?
And I hear it so much, you've got to learn to forgive that in order for it to move out, right?
All those emotions, hatred, unforgiveness, bitterness, all that stuff causes sickness
and disease, cancer, diabetes, lupus, you name it. Those all go back and trace because we hold
on to those negative emotions that will eventually cause disease in the body. We know that scientifically.
Yeah. And you know, I know, I know some women that I've known in the past, you know, they hold
on to that, you know, or they hold on to the fact of being raped or whatever, but sometimes you have
to let that go, right? All the time we need to let that go. We have to let that go. And when I lost
my mom and dad, I went into this whole thing of being lonely, right? When you told me, you know,
you're not lonely, you have your kids, you have your grandkids, you have me, right? Don't forget
But I still felt that loneliness. And it wasn't until probably a year ago, I realized, you know,
no, I'm not alone. And I was angry. And you kept telling me, you're really angry. I'm like, no,
I'm not. I'm not angry. Stop telling me I'm angry, you know, but I was, you know, but you have to
come to the absolute understanding that where you are, and understand that you're putting yourself
through sickness and disease, you know, you're leaving the door open. Yeah, you're leaving it
wide open, right? You know, and I didn't realize that until my knees started hurting. And, you
know, I was like, Oh, my gosh, okay, it was right after my dad passed. About six months later, I
started having this horrific pain in my knee. And I was like, I'm holding on to one loneliness. I'm
holding on to the fact that my parents are gone. I'm holding on to the fact that I was angry that
I had to take care of him for 15 years. I was angry that I found that the fact that I wasn't
affecting my marriage, you know, and all this, all this was just like, bombarding me, right? But I
was leaving the door so wide open to everything. And I think the last maybe year, I found out that
I was like, Why are you doing this to yourself? And I think I'm talking to so many people that
are out there that are just holding on to all this anger and, and resentment, and you're letting
that door open for the enemy to come in and, and attack you both physically, mentally, emotionally,
and probably even financially. Oh, it affects right area of our life. Yes. Yeah. It's not just
one thing in the physical body, but it affects the relationships. Absolutely. You know, like you said,
the finances, the ministry, the business, everything around us begins to deteriorate.
Yeah. When we hold on to these areas. That's why Jesus said that the thief comes to kill,
steal and destroy. But I've come to give you an abundant life. And why he always emphasized
is that we have to forgive people. Yes. Right? Yes. That's so important. And it's not an easy
thing to do. Because we get offended by so many things in life of what people say what people do.
We got to let that go. Yeah, absolutely. Because the fact of the matter is, the price is too high.
If we hold on to those things, we are going to pay the price with sickness and disease. So as we come
to the close again, this was a very powerful topic. Yes, it was. And all of you that are watching and
viewing this podcast, I want you to know that the fact is in God's Word, it tells us that we have
been healed, not that we're going to get healed, but that we have been healed. And our job is to
fight the good fight of faith, to understand that what we're doing now is we're commanding our body
to be in line into God's Word. Do not allow sickness and disease to stay in your body.
It's not authorized to be there. But you with your words have to agree to God's Word
and speak that forth so that healing can manifest in your physical body. We want to thank you for
