STORM WATCH: Tracking showers and chance of thunderstorms on Long Island

How cute? How can you not? Yeah, adorable. You need the doggie raincoat tomorrow morning. Yeah, it's going to be a wet start. Yeah, heading off to school now. As most kids now back into the classroom, it's going to just be an overnight where we have some rounds of rain, some of which could be heavy. The good news is the bulk of this is done with before around 7 o'clock in the morning. But if you are heading to the bus stop before, then yeah, you're certainly going to want that rain gear. So until around 7 o'clock in the morning on Thursday, it's not pouring the whole time, but there will be some scattered rain and even the chance for a quick thunderstorm. That could be briefly heavy, so if you have any overnight traveling to do that can briefly drop some low visibility to make for slower travel and also could wake you up in the middle of the night too. So if you wake up just hearing some briefly heavy rain, just don't be shocked to to get that because that is a possibility from right now and through around 7 o'clock in the morning on Thursday. A spotty shower downpour is going to be possible in the evening hours again on Thursday, but keep the outdoor plans for the rest of the day. So here is the Stormwatch feature cast here through around 5 o'clock. In the morning, looking at that chance for some briefly moderate to heavy rain by 6 or 7 in the morning, there's not much of that heavier rain left at that point, but there still will be a few hit or miss. Showers can't rule out an isolated downpour through around mid morning, and then it gets drier late morning and through the most of the afternoon, with even some breaks of some sunshine. But then into the evening, just have to watch that chance for another pop up shower or isolated downpour so periods of scattered rain overnight, a thunderstorm possible through early Thursday morning. Midday on Thursday is fine, very warm and humid upper 70s to mid 80s, and then we'll have a renewed chance for very just isolated pop up downpour in the evening. Friday, Saturday, far from washouts, mostly dry, but a pop up shower can't be ruled out the rest of Labor Day weekend looks great. I have some more rain showers late Tuesday into Wednesday.
