That's Bonnie Stallings back
in 2018 after beating stage two breast cancer.
I built such a strong relationship with all the co-workers at Bennett.
And this is her husband Andrew,
founder of Connecticut-based sports marketing agency
Ethelo Group.
Really kind of do something that was unique and special to give back.
So we thought, why not try pickleball?
The two teaming up to help women in Fairfield County who need it most.
Proceeds from their inaugural charity pickleball tournament
at the Sports House in Norwalk
will benefit the Bennett Cancer Center's Paint the Town Pink campaign.
Events like these are critical,
and at a pickleball tournament, it's all about team sport.
Cancer care is also a team sport, and without our community partners,
we would not be able to deliver
the cancer care that our patients deserve.
Andrew Stallings says 100%
of net proceeds will go directly towards mammograms,
programs, breast ultrasounds, MRIs,
and support services for underserved women in the area.
At the end of the day, it's about people like Bonnie
and many others who go through this day
in and day out. So for us, you know,
I know it's a family, but it's a business as well.
This is hopefully one very,
very small way that we can give back and just, you know,
be a part of something greater with the Bennett
Cancer Center for many years to come.
A community rallying together during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
