Todd Cutler tests a \"medieval hack\" to increase arrow distance. Using a tuned crossbow for repeatability, he experiments with removing arrow bindings and fletchings to reduce drag. Contrary to expectations, removing the bindings decreased distance, while completely removing the fletchings significantly increased the range, allowing the arrow to surpass the target.
