Bonjour! I hope you are all well! I was invited by the lovely Swedish Julia to spend a few days with her in and around her beautiful little French cottage in the countryside. We met to co-create and be inspired for our work as creatives. Julia is a jewellery designer, her pieces are just beautiful and inspired by nature. She designs and makes them by hand in her little atelier in the cottage. I am sure you are going to love every second of this video!

This week, I want to transport you into the world of the Swedish jewelry maker, Julia.
She invited me for a weekend in her dreamy cottage in the countryside of France.
And it's here, in her atelier in the attic of this maison de gardien, which is a caretaker's
cottage of a beautiful castle in the Auvergne region of France, that she designs and creates
her beautiful jewelry, inspired by nature.
We got together for a few days of creating imagery for her collection, and to simply
enjoy the beauty of this place, each other's company, and our shared love for France.

Oh, there's the floral.

It's actually quite nice, I think, even with this dress on.
It could work, because it gets below the florals.
Exactly.
I am definitely not a model, but I have done many photo shoots for my previous business,
for my book, so I'm pretty comfortable in front of a camera.
And really, this just felt like such a wonderful two days to women, to creatives, wanting to
create beauty and sharing our love for all the beautiful things.
Julia's jewelry is really, really pretty, and I just loved how we just followed the
flow, how we were enjoying ourselves, eating wonderful food in this wonderful, wonderful
park of this beautiful chateau, which is owned by a friend of hers.
So, Julia was taking pictures of me, but I also wanted to take a few pictures of her,
because the light in this room was so beautiful, and she looked so beautiful in her dress,
and with her own jewelry.
And really, we just had a lot of fun.
And this, to me, is one of those typical girls things, where two women come together and
create beautiful things just for the joy of it.
At what age?
It's like, be a lady, you know?
I can be such a tomboy.
I thought you meant like...
Oh, no.
No, no, no, no.
Because there's a Swedish saying.
So, in Sweden, what you would tell your teenage girl is keep your thumb between your knees.
Yeah.
Meaning...
Don't get pregnant.
Ah, yeah.
You know they grow here in France?
Where?
Like in the wild?
In my old village?
No, right behind the church, a huge tree.
Follow them.
Julia lives about three hours away from where I live, but halfway is the factory of the
Manufacture de Diguan, which you have heard me talk about so many times, and which I've
written about as well in my book.
And to celebrate that I have launched my new book, and that it's such a success, I have
treated myself to a beautiful set of plates, tumblers, vases, pitchers, and I showed them
to Julia, and we decided to use them for her photography, for her jewelry.
And I love how this kind of creative, spontaneous things happen when you just allow creativity
to flow, because it looks absolutely beautiful.

But there's something that I haven't told you.
Olaf actually came with me on this trip, because the owner of the chateau invited us to film
inside, and this is nothing like I have ever shown you before.
And the other thing is that this person is a professional filmmaker and photographer.
His name is Kevin Michael Schmitz, and he also teaches photography.
I mean, what a blessing to be able to spend this time with him and learn from him.
It ended up being such a wonderful experience of just all creatives just wanting to create
something beautiful.
Olaf actually filmed the home tour using Kevin's professional gear, which Olaf was so excited
about, because he's such a tech guy, and he is so eager always to learn and improve his
filming and editing skills.
Walking in through the front park, this is the best, best way to walk into this palace,
because it just gives you that almost Downton Abbey kind of feel.
And also having Olaf join me for this trip was so wonderful, and we've dreamed of this
for a long time, and we plan to do many, many more filming trips together, which is just
wonderful that we're able to live this lifestyle.
