Something huge is brewing in Detroit...(And the NBA is not ready.)
Aug 29, 2026
Something huge is brewing in Detroit after the Pistons came off a 60-win season and Langdon
went out to add multiple key pieces to this organization while addressing the biggest
question in the room following their last stint in the playoffs. We're gonna break down everything
you need to know on exactly why the NBA is terrified of what's unfolding in the city of
Detroit as the Pistons are on the verge of doing something incredible. But not only that, we're
gonna dive into a recent comment coming from Matt Ishbia, the owner of the Phoenix Suns,
speaking on Devin Booker to the Detroit Pistons. We have so much to break down in this episode and
you're not gonna want to miss any of it. Before we get into it, I just want to give a huge shout
out to everyone watching. We're trying to reach our goal of 2,500 subscribers, just 55 total subs

Facebook, hit that free follow button as well. But let's just dive straight into it. Now, before we
get into, of course, the Detroit Pistons and exactly why Langdon added exactly what the team
needed to get to the next step within this organization. But I do want to dive into the
comments from Matt Ishbia, the owner of the Phoenix Sun and a resident of Michigan, as he
was speaking to the media and someone asked about Devin Booker to the Detroit Pistons where Matt
Ishbia, and I quote, said, when I'm dead, Devin Booker will never be a Detroit Piston. I'm from
here, Michigan. I don't care about the Pistons at all. Now, listen, there's a lot to look into.
Of course, first off, Devin Booker fits next to Cade like a glove. This would be a perfect tandem
and a secondary score that, of course, the Pistons still want to add to this organization,
despite Ibuka Okore looking like that coming through. But with Devin Booker, it's not a dead
dream yet that he won't be joining the Detroit organization. Of course, looking at Devin Booker,
if you're a fan of the game, you've watched Book's highlights. 26 points, four rebounds,
six assists, 45, 33, 87 splits. Devin Booker would fit perfectly on this Pistons team as
someone that's going to be paired next to Cade Cunningham, as we know he can work with another
ball dominant player. We've seen it with Chris Paul a couple of seasons ago when they made it to,
of course, the finals, losing to the Milwaukee Bucks. There is still a pipe dream of Devin
Booker joining this team. Of course, with Matt Ishbia saying this, he is the owner of the Phoenix
Suns. He's not going to come out and straight up say, hey, I'm going to trade him to my hometown
team in Michigan. But it does open up a bigger picture where a lot of people are going to
continuously talk about this with Devin Booker nearing, of course, his player option on his
contract going into 2028-29. He'll have his $63 million player option in 29-30. At the age of 33,
there is a chance that Devin Booker does make his way to Detroit, but it seems like Matt Ishbia is
dead set on not trading him to this team. Leave your thoughts down in the comments on everything
to do around Matt Ishbia's comments because those are actually hilarious. But if you want to dive
into, of course, the heat that the NBA and fans are giving to the Detroit Pistons, he's being
ranked which teams they think will be the most disappointing this season. Headlining the list
is the team that lost LeBron James and somehow the Detroit Pistons that did nothing but go out
and pick up exactly what this team needs is ranked at number two. Now the Detroit Pistons,
of course, still need that secondary ball handler, but they won 60 games last season.
A lot of people are saying this is a failure by Langdon. Simple as that. Reminds me of the Detroit
Lions last year. Everyone knew it's going to be a down year, but this is truly a team that people
are not giving the credit to. Of course, you didn't go out to pick up a Devin Booker, a Kevin Durant,
a LeBron James to add to this team, but what Langdon did was go out to build out exactly what
this organization truly needed in shooting and added this to an already core that won 60 games
last year all in their early 20s. Looking at the Pistons, yes, they could still add another star,
but you have two of those in the making. Assar Thompson, incredible best defender in the NBA.
Jalen Durant still needs to sign his contract, but outside of this, Kate Cunningham's biggest
struggle is when he had no space to work with. Of course, he still scored. We've seen the step
back on Jeremy Sohan. He was still drawing everyone into the paint and still scoring at will,
hence why he was a runner-up for the MVP or at least finished fifth or sixth. I believe he should
have won it. This is now a team that went out to add exactly what the organization needed in last
year's postseason. Last year in the regular season, it's crazy to say that this team added to the
three-point shooting after winning 60 wins. This is a team that went out to pick up John Collins that,
of course, shot nearly 40% from three just last season. You brought back key veterans in Kevin
Hurter and Javante Green, two very good shooters. Torian Prince, an underrated pickup. You still
picked up Gary Harris as well. This is a team that filled out a bunch and I haven't even spoke on
Isaiah Joe, one of the best shooters in the NBA. This is a team that, of course, when looking at
last season, the biggest question mark around it was how was Cade getting to the rim if everyone
was clogging the paint? Looking at this, we can see the ranked above teams like the Indiana Pacers,
Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, the Toronto Raptors. This was a team that was a middle of the
pack shooting just under 36% from three at 35.6. This was a team that rang off 60 wins despite a
season where you're sitting in the middle of the pack of not having shooting. A team that a lot of
people spoke on and said, hey, they don't have anything other than defense. Let the numbers back
it up that this is a team that dominated without those secondary ball handlers or secondary
scorers. Now that the Pistons addressed it, those exact things, it just goes to show exactly why the
team is going to ring off some incredible games and cause a stir within the NBA that is surely
not ready for this. I mean, looking at the points per game, you're sitting top 10. You were sitting
that in rebounds, almost an assist, number one in steals per game, blocks per game, number one.
This is a defensive minded team that is headlined by none other than Cade Cunningham, a top five
player in the NBA and someone that's going to end up winning a MVP. I said in my last video,
Chris Gallagher over on Knicks Digest, disgusting. We hate the Knicks, love Chris as a guy. He spoke
on Cade Cunningham and yes, I'm going to out him where he said he genuinely thinks Cade can come
out and ring off a MVP caliber season. Looking at the numbers at 24, five and a half, 9.9,
basically 10 assists per game, 46, 34, 81 splits. Cade was legitimately playing on one lung and of
course, dealing with an injury in the playoffs and still put up insane numbers progressing year
after year. Now that Cade Cunningham is going into his season, having the most spacing that he's ever
had in his life, and this is a team that can still go out to make multiple other moves. Maybe
they pick out a guy on the buyout market towards the deadline. Maybe they go out and package an
even bigger deal to bring in not only a shooter, but a secondary scorer within this team fans.
I want to know your thoughts on this Detroit Pistons team. Of course, you need to sign Jay
Linder. The biggest question mark around this team right now is making sure that you have your
All-NBA and All-Star Big locked up. If this guy does not sign, of course, you completely wash
everything I said in this video. But when you pair the success that this team had, a team that's now
going out to get a year older, adding the extra space, and picking up Ibuka Okoroi, who once again
is one of the best, if not best, self-creators coming out of this year's draft class. Not even
kidding when it comes to statistics. He was outplaying guys like Darren Peterson and DeBentz
when it came to creating and scoring his own shots. Yes, it's a rookie. There's a lot relying
on these guys staying consistent. But fans, avoid the outside noise around this Detroit Pistons team
because we know 60-win season. You addressed the biggest question. You brought back the core. Yes,
losing Tobey's suck. And I wish him the best in San Antonio once we match up in the finals. Of
course, screw him. I hope he loses. But fans, let me know your thoughts down in the comments on
everything to do around this Pistons team. Am I over-optimistic? Are you right there with me?
What is your guys' thoughts on absolutely everything to do? And let me know what you
want me to talk about down in the comments because I love talking Detroit basketball.
There's a reason why we cheer for this team. Go Detroit basketball, and I hope you guys had a
good day. Take care, and I'll see you in the next one.
