I worked in fast food for many years.
It was just disgusting.
He just spit in it.
Is he peeing?
That is definitely a wrap.
What really goes on behind the counter?
That was nasty.
Plus, all rise for health cords.
Dirty Keto is coming between two friends.
I lost almost 75 pounds in like two months.
I don't even believe her entire story.
Coming up next...
First season, 11.
Back check on the seltzer bowl.
Is your go-to soda alternative that comes in all sorts of flavors, right?
And there's been an explosion of these new seltzers with tons of variety.
They're all over the place.
But what's really in all this new boom of bubbly drinks?
How do they contain so much flavor while being so low in calories?
My food fact-check insiders reveal what you need to know about the newest
seltzers on the market.
Don't you love that sound, right?
Are your favorite drinks all fizzy hype?
Or are they actually as healthy as they seem?
You want to know how seltzer obsessed our viewers were.
So we asked you to show us your stash.
Take a look.
I am obsessed with seltzer water.
When I was little, my parents told me that it was like soda.
Actually, there's a lot missing because I drank a lot of them.
I love the bubble.
I like to open it up and put fruit at the bottom.
I probably have like nine or ten pelters a day.
I have a confession to make.
I hide seltzer in my bathroom in the medicine cabinet.
I just need you to see what I keep in my trunk.
You never know when you may need a little sip of seltzer, right?
So I love seltzer.
What's the big deal?
Cheers to seltzer.
Austin's here along with nutritionist JJ Smith.
JJ, we have been drinking and talking about seltzer on this show forever.
What is going on with this big seltzer boom right now?
Oh my goodness.
I call it the bubbly water.
I mean, it's carbonated water, but really no matter what diet or weight
loss plan, whether it's the keto craze or paleo, the green smoothie
plans, it literally fits into every single diet or weight loss plan.
It's a drink you can have that will be totally guilt-free.
All right, Taylor.
Do you track the sparkling water trends?
You looked at them all.
There's the popularity is taken off.
What are the latest ones we need to know about?
Absolutely.
So we've got seltzer waters with natural flavors.
We've got ones with fruit juices and the fastest growing on the
market, ones that contain alcohol.
Alcohol.
I like JJ's going.
Let's dance our way over.
Let's start our investigation with the classic seltzer.
So the classic seltzer is what we all started off with, you know,
our parents, I used to drink this stuff and it sort of went away
for a while.
Now it's big.
What's in the classic seltzer, Taylor?
So it's very simple.
It's water and carbon dioxide and that's what makes it fizz.
What are your thoughts on that, JJ?
Well, as a nutritionist, I love it because it's zero calories.
That's the most important thing.
So if you still trying to get your body, right, this is a great
drink for health.
So it checks all the boxes.
Okay, next is seltzers with natural flavoring.
That's what they call it natural flavoring.
Give us some examples, JJ.
Okay, so these ones I get real excited about because they have
everything from passion fruit to black cherry to lemon lime.
There's all these great flavors.
So they kind of have the essence of fruit, but guess what?
They're still zero calories.
This one tastes like lime, for example, but there's no lime
in there.
So how do they actually make these different flavors?
Right.
Well, what food scientists do, it's very similar to alcohol
production where you distill it.
So you cook it, the flavors evaporate, then you cool it down
and they condense.
You can add it right in there.
Okay, who do you think is seltzer option is best for?
Well, this is for people who still need the zero calorie
drink.
They're still concerned about their weight, staying on their
diet, but they really need a lot more flavor.
This is what I usually drink.
Ah, I like it.
Same here.
So next up, the investigation, we looked at the new wave
of seltzers that are out there.
These are seltzers with real fruit juice, not the natural
flavors.
Taylor is speaking about real fruit juice.
So how do these compare with what we just spoke about?
Right.
So it's basically the same process as producing the regular
seltzer waters, except instead of the natural flavors, you're
going to add either sugar or you're going to add something
like fruit juice or fruit juice puree.
Now, keep in mind, puree means a lot of added sugar.
So you have to be savvy when it comes to these types of
products.
I mean, walk us through the nutrition on that, JJ.
Yeah, see, these are a little tricky, Dr. Oz, because these
generally will have a lot more sugar, anywhere from 4 to 45
calories.
So you have to be careful with these.
I still am in favor of what I used to drink.
Okay, for the buzziest seltzer of them all, are you ready
for this?
I'm going to go to bring in our famed Oz food trend correspondent,
the food god himself, Jonathan Chevin.
Take a look.
From the cheesy, to the ooey gooey, to the super-sized, no
one is more on top of food trends than our brand-new food
trend correspondent, the food god. Instagram star and food
god podcast host, Jonathan Chevin, has tasted the good life
and now he's serving it up to you.
Here to talk about seltzer with alcohol, come on out, food
god.
I'm here.
Hold on, let him know.
I'm here.
I'm with him, with the food god.
We made it.
We're here.
Look at this seltzer.
This is unbelievable.
Hi, guys.
So explain this to me.
Food seltzer sales are up 200%, basically doubled.
It is, you know, it's not the summer anymore, but they're
still fairly high.
What makes them work?
It's become a trend.
It's like rosé.
It started really local in the summer.
People were drinking it.
It was no big deal.
It's like a billion-dollar business.
This is on its way.
It is so huge.
Everybody's talking about it.
It's selling out.
When things sell out, that's when you know, it's like a
trend to stay for a while.
So I trust you on taste issues and trade issues, but I'm going
to go to Taylor here for a fact-check on the big food issue
here. Food fact-check this for us.
What makes sense?
What's in here?
How do you put alcohol with seltzer and make it work?
Okay, so these products are not regulated as a food.
They're regulated actually as beer.
And so... Beer?
Yes.
So they are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration.
They're regulated by the Alcohol, Tobacco, Tax, and Trade
Bureau, which means they don't have to label calories.
So these things have about 90 to 100 calories in there.
So it really, you're not going to blow your diet by going to
Happy Hour. Walk me through specifics.
This part I get.
You get the regular part of the seltzer with some flavor.
Right.
So again, same process and you can add either fruit juice or
fruit puree to really flavor it up.
Again, you got to watch the added sugars when it comes to
the puree, but then you add alcohol, which can be either
from regular sugar like corn sugar or beet sugar.
Or if you want to call it a malt beverage, you can ferment
the alcohol from malt.
That's a lot.
There's a lot.
So when everyone's Googling these things, what do they find?
What do they see if we've got?
Well, the one thing that everybody keeps asking, I see
it over and over.
People want to know, do you get drunk faster because it's
like bubbles and alcohol?
That's all they care about.
Pass one of those over here.
What do you think?
Actually, I'm going to help answer this.
Hand me the other one.
You open this thing up here.
Let me get it this way.
Enjoy it a little bit.
Let's see.
Let's see the impact.
First of all, you have champagne.
You do seem to get tipsy a little faster, don't you?
Smells pretty good.
What smells good, but the bubbles make you get drunk faster.
All right.
So in your personal experience, have you gotten intoxicated
with these more rapidly?
In my head, I think I have.
Just because the bubbles is like going through your head
faster.
I don't know.
There was someone who did a research project on this.
They did a small paper and they showed that the bubbles do
seem to get the alcohol into your bloodstream at a faster
rate. So it's not the total amount of alcohol.
It's how fast it hits your body.
I believe him.
I don't know.
It's actually a research paper, plus you have anecdotal
evidence yourself.
Well, you know, it's probably because they're so flavorful
and good.
You might over consume them every day.
We'll toast to that, Taylor.
Cheers.
Food guys.
Thank you for being here.
Jonathan Shepard.
He'll be back last this season.
We'll be right back.
Have you seen a shocking food story on social media?
Good spices will ignite, bad spices will burn.
Or heard a scary rumor about something you love to eat and
wondered, is it true?
Let me and my investigation squad fact-check it for you.
Go to Facebook and join the Dr. Raj Show Facebook group and
we can feature the story you're hungry for on our next episode.
Coming up, caught on tape fast food confessions.
Are these little guys here, not so little, lurking in your
favorite restaurant?
Stick around.
We'll find out.
Foods become faster than ever.
There are fast food restaurants at every corner, coast to
coast, and delivery apps being your one step away from a hot
and ready meal brought directly to your doorstep.
But with speed, are we sacrificing safety?
Today, fast food confessions caught on tape with real fast
food employees stepping forward to reveal what they've seen
and heard from the fast food front lines.
Take a look.
Fast food employees gone bad.
An employee at a Detroit pizzeria was caught adding his own
spit to the customer's pizza sauce.
In West Virginia, this fast food pizzeria manager was caught
urinating into the kitchen sink, right next to where your food
is prepared.
And this is not an isolated incident.
This fast food worker was filmed through the drive-thru window
urinating into a mop bucket used to clean the restaurant floors.
No five-second rule for your french fry.
What if the employee at this fast food restaurant was rubbing
your bun on the floor?
Let's hope they didn't clean those floors using the other
guy's mop.
But for every bad fast food employee, there are thousands
more doing the right thing, using their cell phones to be
our eyes and ears, capturing unsanitary conditions in picture
and video.
One whistleblower, a former employee of a Florida fast food
chain, made headlines when she alerted health officials who
found the restaurant to be overrun by cockroaches and rat
theses.
These are the actual shocking photos taken.
And you won't believe this video of a baby rat crawling around
in the bun bag at an Oklahoma burger joint.
Today, we're hearing firsthand from fast food restaurant
employees who've seen it all.
Joining me is our go-to tester Renata, who admits to me she
has visited a fast food restaurant or date or two.
So you saw that footage.
What is going on to you right now?
That was nasty.
Absolutely disgusting.
I want to highlight to you and everybody else that this is not
the norm, right?
I'm sorry.
Most of the time, it's just fine.
So I don't want you to panic, but to help ease our fears,
because it does obviously happen.
We caught it on tape.
We've brought in the most informed person I could think
of, the health inspector extraordinaire, Peter DeLucia is
here to pay attention.
Rats, bugs, vermin.
Oh my, say it ain't so, right?
But our fast food restaurants, right?
Are they overrun with these guys?
When you go out and inspect restaurants, are you seeing
rats and mice?
Ooh, cockroaches.
I tell you, Dr.
Oz, you know what?
I don't think it's any more than what we've seen in the
past.
The new thing, though, the advent is everybody's carrying
around a cell phone.
The cockroaches are one thing.
They lead to us as inspectors.
We know it's a dirty restaurant.
It's unkept.
You know what I mean?
But when we see rodents, rodents are the scariest thing
here, because these little guys, when they run around, they're
urinating, they carry communicable diseases.
These are guys that are going to really make you sick.
So this is something, when we see this in a restaurant, it's
a closure.
We have to close them.
Do they get away if I open this up?
So here's our first fast food employee confession, revealing
what he says was a hidden ingredient in the kitchen of the
burger joint that he worked in.
You're not going to believe this.
I worked in fast food for many years when I was younger.
I mean, I'm sure they were committing OSHA violations and
health violations during that time.
And frankly, it was just disgusting.
They were doing a renovation of the entire store.
They remained open during that time.
So we were still serving food to the general public.
So, you know, you would have guys over here with jackhammers
and tearing out walls and the ceilings were being replaced
and so on and so forth while we had meat on the grill and
fries over here and still serving food as normal.
Nice and dirty.
Those are buns.
That's black mold.
Wow, this is nasty.
You've been inspecting restaurants and other eateries
for your whole life.
So if you saw the kinds of things we're talking about, the
dust, for example, wouldn't the health inspector pick it up?
Those are violations without a doubt.
But remember, we only take a snapshot.
We're not in those stores, you know, 365 days a year.
We're in there a couple of times a year.
So these things happen, but construction while you're
preparing food, that's a big no-no.
You're getting the, you know, particles in your food
contaminating, really big problem.
Can't have that.
Aren't the general safeguards to keep fast food restaurants
safe? There are, you know, first and foremost is the inspection
process. So we're out there.
Hopefully, you know, that's a deterrent that if we do catch
them, they could get a fine.
They could be closed down.
A lot of states require food service and education, which
is very important.
I'm going to sign her up for that inspection course.
All right.
So what are the signs we should be looking for to differentiate
a good joint from a bad joint so we can enjoy our food?
I want her not to panic over this.
A couple of quick tips.
You know, first and foremost, a clean bathroom. Because
you know what? In many places, the bathroom you use is the
same bathroom the people preparing your food as you are
using. Now, second, you want an open-style kitchen.
Why does that matter? Open-style kitchen.
Think about it.
You're at a fast food restaurant or a food court.
You can see what's going on there.
Are they wearing plastic gloves before they're touching
your food there?
And you know what else I like?
I like cook to order. A lot of these burger joints now
you can go to. You see them cooking your burgers right
out there.
You see the operation.
You know what's going on and they know you're watching
them. All right, but the big lesson here isn't that fast
food is going anywhere because it's not right.
These things are possible.
Hopefully, they're not happen.
They're unusual occurrences, but they obviously do occur.
So don't be afraid, but keep your eyes open and look.
Capture those images.
If you get them, send them to us.
We'll share them with the audience.
Up next, you ever wonder if your delivery takeout is
tampered with? Wait until you see what we found caught
on tape is next.
And as we go to break, take a look at a shocking confession
from a sandwich shop employee.
Every night we have to switch the veggies and that just
means put the old veggies on top of the new ones so they
get used first. That knife is used all day.
We're supposed to wash it, but if there's a rush, there's
no time and the avocado gets pushed way past where it's
okay, like you think you're spreading on refried beans
because it's so brown.
Who wants to meet their child in the lobby of a hotel?
A fertility clinic screw-up.
I don't think I'll ever get over it.
Her son born to another woman.
Imagine you have a baby out there that
you didn't get to carry.
Plus, you don't know how to say no to Harvey Weinstein.
He's the most powerful man in Hollywood.
All nuance.
That's coming up on Monday.
The audience is hungry.
Put your hands up.
Who's hungry today?
I know you are.
I'm getting hungry too.
All right, these days hot and fast food can be delivered
like that to your doorstep with just the swipe of the phone.
Speaking of that, come on in guys.
Got a hungry audience here.
Phone delivery right to our studio.
Well, thank you very much.
It's so good to have.
I think we have enough food for just about everybody.
But here's the question since we've got all these delivery
folks here.
Does convenience come with a cost, right?
You're sitting here watching a show and the food's already
here.
Let's say these are the last eight deliveries you guys
have all taken at home, right?
Please two of you step forward.
Statistically, two of your orders could have been snacked
on before getting delivered.
Think about that.
Oh my God, that's right.
The exercise shows what real delivery workers admitted to
in a recent survey.
28% of food delivery people tasted your food before delivering
it.
Take a look.
Is someone dipping into your delivery order before it reaches
your doorstep?
Here, a delivery man is caught on tape stealing fries from
a customer's bag while standing at their doorstep.
Talk about risky.
This doorbell footage shows a delivery worker taking a sip
from the customer's drink just seconds before handing it
off.
It gets worse.
This man was arrested and charged with a felony for tainting
the food in the grossest way possible.
Dipping his genitals into the customer's salsa as a reaction
to receiving a low tip.
He even laughed in front of the judge during his trial.
Hope you don't think of this the next time you order takeout.
It gives double dipping a whole new meaning, doesn't it?
Folks, tip your drivers.
You're better off.
We got health inspector Peter DeLucia's back to break down
the other side of the delivery process.
So what do we need to know before we swipe and order our
foods on our delivery apps at mealtime?
It's a whole new realm, right?
What I like to do is take a look for the health inspection
to see that it's a reparable restaurant, but then take a
look at the delivery app stuff to see if there's some poor
ratings, but then if you see consistency in complaints, stay
away.
So it just seems so crazily confusing.
Aren't there rules that protect us in the delivery process?
Not right now.
It's like the Wild West out there.
There's no rules.
You don't know what's going on.
Once that food leaves the restaurant, the restaurant doesn't
necessarily know what's going on.
I'm going to culinary school.
That's what I'm doing.
Okay, I'm a chef it up in my house.
That's what I'm gonna do.
Here's our next confession is from a food delivery worker
who says some drivers are definitely stealing their customers
food.
They asked to remain anonymous for obvious reasons.
He was putting a bunch of burritos into a big insulated
bag and some plates and platters of stuff and you know, two
big insulated bags.
He's putting stuff in and he had a big bag of tortilla chips
and he reaches in and pulls out like three and eats the tortilla
chips and I thought to myself, I thought, okay, maybe the
restaurant knows this guy and maybe they just gave it to him
as like a snack because they know him for free after he ate
the chips with his bare hands.
He closed the bag and he put it into his insulated bag with
the rest of the order.
So that tells me that wasn't his personal bag of chips.
They gave him that was part of the order and he picked it
up and he ate it.
Wow.
I mean, you'd never be able to figure that or so I thought
but guess what?
Do not fear.
Peter has tips to protect you from dirty delivery.
And the first tip is pretty simple.
He wants to look for a staple real simple.
You know what?
And you can call the restaurant to say I want my bag staple
shot.
Take a look at this.
You get a bag like this.
It's crinkled.
You don't know if anybody could go in there grab take those
tasty fries out.
Whatever grab the nacho chips and take a snack.
So at least you got your bag stapled.
You have some sense of security that it was not tampered with
between a restaurant in your home simple easy elegant easy.
This is I think mandatory.
This is the staple tip ask for it.
So before you go you have one more thing you want to warn
us about which are these so-called ghost restaurants,
please explain what they are everybody and then let's talk
about why they're a problem.
It's a whole new phenomenon now people, you know, they're
trying to think of new things.
They come outside the box.
Let me let me do something different and they decide to
do these internet only restaurants where you go on the
internet you order your food and it comes to you.
But where is it being prepared?
Is it being prepared in a warehouse?
Is it in someone's home kitchen?
So I tell you I want to make sure anywhere I eat is regulated
and has a permit at least that's one sense of security that
you can have stage and spices always great.
Great.
See you right back.
Coming up health court is in session.
Could a high-fat diet be tearing best friends apart find
that how I rule in the case of my best friend is eating bacon
and fatty foods on keto plus our expert witness has trained
Oprah Tyra Banks Diane Sawyer Khloe Kardashian and more he's
bringing evidence that will turn this case upside down.
Bickering couples boring neighbors friends and family
divided when it's time for resolution.
It's time to take them to health court where dr.
Oz rules the plaintiff Anaya says her best friend is doing
keto and eats nothing but fatty foods like bacon.
She's worried that it's going to ruin her health.
The defendant TK says Anaya is just mad.
She can't do keto because it made her sick and she's jealous
that TK lost over 30 pounds on it both litigants feel they're
right and both think dr.
Oz will rule in their favor.
Health court is now in session plaintiff.
You call your friends diet dirty keto.
I see it again dirty keto.
What do you mean by that word?
Well, dr.
Oz obviously she's eating nothing but fatty items like
bacon like hamburgers like sausages.
I don't think they're turkey and I don't think they're lean
granted.
I know that there's some great, you know side effects.
So I have you but I don't think it's healthy just saying that
you did keto yourself.
If I understand correctly, correct.
What were the results when you tried it?
Well, she thinks I'm jealous but I'm not because I lost almost
75 pounds in like two months.
Oh, even though I look great and I felt great.
I developed a condition by the name of syncope where I would
pass out and I'm pretty sure you've heard of it.
If you haven't and it was the scariest experience.
Literally.
I was getting rushed to the emergency room in ambulance
because nobody was wrong with me and you're a really good
doctor.
So you would know more he's no no pandering to the judge.
So the feather let me give you a chance.
Now.
Why did you decide to start with this high-fat diet?
You saw your friend experience.
Was that a good or bad thing in your opinion?
I wanted to lose weight.
I don't her experience is her experience.
My body's different than hers, but I don't even believe her
entire story.
So which parts don't you believe that she I mean, I think she
did lose.
I don't think it was 70 pounds.
Maybe like 40 pounds.
It's just I've it worked for me.
It really does work like I do it every day.
Are you taking your friends concerns into consideration?
Even if it's helping you lose weight?
How much weight have you lost?
By the way, I've lost 20 pounds 20 pounds.
Yeah, and you can see you can see it right here.
Are you are you aware of you truly appreciate your friends
concerns?
I guess.
Sometimes but I just feel like we were on this journey together
and now you know, it's good when you have somebody with you
doing it and now I thought it was jealousy really I thought
it was but I didn't even see any like documents saying that
she got this other sickness or whatever.
So that's why I didn't believe it.
Well, I'm running into a bit of a brick wall here is jealousy
part of this definitely not doctor or a judge or however,
you would like me to call you judge doctor.
We work.
Okay, very good, right?
So definitely not jealousy because again, this is a real
serious situation.
So these are legitimate and I can actually get witnesses
eyewitnesses and you know, doctor's reports and everything
because they labeled it think of me I can say from the
defendant's visual reaction.
Oh, did I have a visual reaction?
Yes, you did.
Oh, I apologize.
Yes.
Well, I'm going to call it an expert an expert witness to
help decide this case to get to the bottom of what's really
happening is a celebrity fitness trainer and New York Times
best-selling author Jorge Cruz.
He's here and he's bringing exhibit a hurry.
Please enter the evidence.
What are you entering into evidence here?
All right.
This is what the defendant exactly eating TK and you know,
I see a lot of fat obviously unhealthy.
This is a typical day of the defendant's meal.
Yep, and there's good and bad fat doctor.
There's avocados.
There's eggs.
The yolks are good cheese, but then we've got things that
are processed, you know with I hate to say hormones like
the bacon possibly and definitely burgers.
I can tell that these burgers are more fast food burgers
possibly okay, maybe and so there's a variety of things
here, but this is what she's doing on the typical day.
All right.
So you're the defendant.
This is typical good fats and bad fats.
You agree.
I agree except I don't eat that much cheese.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay, and not as much bacon plaintiff.
You agree.
This is what she's eating.
I agree.
Would you consider this dirty Keto, which is the primary
reason this case was raised, but we have a chart with
Dr.
Oz and there's a clean Keto and a dirty Keto.
I would say yes because unfortunately, I'm sorry.
It's it's just dirty.
Yes.
It's a dirty.
So explain this chart that well typical Keto regular Keto
has more of your fats coming from avocados and these healthy
fats olive oil healthy nuts.
We don't see enough of that here.
And unfortunately what she's doing is more dirty because
the meat is more processed the more nitrates.
So I would say there's there's a balance here and it is
dirty unfortunate.
So the plaintiff is arguing.
Yes that this diet is bad for the defense.
His health you have any any evidence that could help you
undeniably decide this case to help me.
I have something for you.
Dr.
Oz blood work blood work.
Oh God.
Oh Jesus.
I've got lots of evidence the defense argue.
She has evidence that will sway my verdict enough to vote
on the side of that tray of food.
Is it possible?
Could it be true stick around?
Welcome back to Health Corps today.
I'm presiding over a case of dirty Keto coming between
friends the plaintiff and Naya says her friend TK needs to
quit eating high-fat foods like bacon on her Keto diet because
she's worried.
It's hurting her health the defense TK argue.
She's lost 20 pounds and she will not turn back best-selling
author and celebrity trainer.
Horry Cruz is our expert witness eating high-fat foods.
Yeah, Greg Philly all the time is frowned upon but you argue
there's a biological loophole.
What is it?
There is dr.
Oz.
It's called well Keto is ketosis and ketosis is the
loophole and you know, I work with a lot of clients and I
teach healthy fats in the morning and coffee and things
like that and there's a way to do it and really we have a
graph to show people how Keto activates fat-burning.
So imagine you have bacon I would say let's make that an
avocado, but let's just say it's healthy fat.
Hopefully it activates a fat-burning mechanism and you
can talk about this as well.
Dr.
Oz, but we know that it does that and best of all when you
deprive yourself of sugar and carbs, it's going to tap into
that fat you're eating but also the fact that you have on your
body like on the hips and belly and that's why it works so
well and using up energy in our body.
So as long as you're in ketosis, right your body is burning
fat your hormones have been hacked a little bit and so you'll
get what you desire.
That's the argument defendant.
You have to be in ketosis for it to work.
You have any evidence that you're actually in ketosis BAM
BAM.
Hello.
So that's your urine strip.
Yes, I came ready.
Oh, yes, and it changed the color indicating that you are
plaintiff.
She does appear to be in ketosis.
Well, like she said, I don't have any documentations that
that's real.
So well, I'm assuming it was your urine.
You dipped it in correct?
Yes.
So if you're a ketosis, that means that you're doing exactly
what the already described it the fats being converted and
this build product the byproduct is ketones, which is what we
identify in the urine, but that doesn't settle the case yet.
That just means that you're using the diet for the desired
purpose, which is losing weight, but you lost 20 pounds.
Yes, we know that part of it works, but the plaintiff is a
friend and that the court has to enter that that insight as
a friendly plaintiff.
She's arguing that her friends help you your health is at
risk.
So therefore we've asked you to take the big step of getting
blood work.
Did you agree voluntarily to allow us to look at your blood?
Yes, I did.
Are you ready for the results?
I'm ready.
These results going to affect my ruling in a very big way.
There are several ways where the high fat diet can affect
your health adversely.
Number one, your liver because your liver is like the filter
of the body.
It's got to take all that junk in this case the bacon and
clear it out.
So that the rest of the ketosis can play a role and your liver
enzymes which indicate the health of your liver are normal.
But there's more overall cholesterol which matters to me
because if you're eating a lot of fat this is already pointed
out here.
It can sometimes affect your cholesterol levels adversely
and yours are normal.
And finally I looked at the most important cholesterol number
which is the lousy LDL cholesterol the one that gives us
a risk for heart disease and stroke and Alzheimer's and a
bunch of things and your LDL the bad cholesterol.
But it's just a little bit elevated not far but it's a
little elevated.
What does that mean?
Well what it means and you know what I'm going to address that
my final ruling because here's how I see it putting the whole
story together.
You're in ketosis.
There's a concern over your health been raised by a plaintiff
and so as I look at your lab results and put it all together
I can prepare a final judgment that I think will rule on the
side of health and the test results that I have here.
I'm going to rule in favor of the defendant.
Order please.
There's an important issue here.
Caveat high fat diets can without question be healthy if
it helps you lose weight and you eating the right kinds of
fats you exercising you monitoring effects on your body
as we did with these records.
However, I hereby order you.
To reduce the amount of saturated fat and eat healthier
fats dirty keto is not the way to go.
I want olive oil avocados and nuts to get that LDL level down.
Okay.
We'll keep you in ketosis and make it easier on your heart.
That's by ruling.
Yeah.
Bravo.
He wrote with the defendant.
That would be me.
Thank you.
Dr.
House.
I'm happy for her.
Okay, so let's clear the whole thing and you know, get it out
there.
I'm not jealous of her at all.
Whatever you don't watch for me.
Keto works for her and it worked for me too.

It's very dry.

Dark spots from the sun.
Sensitive and oily.
Just trying to keep a youthful feel and look.
Dr.
Frauke Neuse is working with the latest in complexion analysis
technology.
So Frauke, what is this machine and how does it work?
Yes.
So the Vizia is a very advanced complexion analysis system.
We use it to analyze and measure surface and subsurface skin
conditions.
One of the things we look at is fine lines and wrinkles and
each of those green little lines is a fine line.
So this is obviously very sensitive.
Lots of people to help.
Do you have a second?
Come on in.
Thank you.
Come into our mobile skincare unit.
Olay is at the cutting edge of skin science.
I think the biggest issue for me is that I don't know what
products to use.
Right.
It was time for answers.
Let's start with the Olay Regenerist Microsculpting Cream.
We're sampling Olay Regenerist Microsculpting Cream and
Regenerist Whip.
The Microsculpting Cream.
Kind of chewy, nourishing texture.
This feels like the skin is drinking it.
I actually want you to try the whip first.
It's a very light texture.
What do you think?
It's really light.
Does it feel whipped?
Yeah, it does feel whipped.
In Chicago, Olay scientist Shannon Weitz popped on board.
I'm gonna let you try the Olay Regenerist Microsculpting
Cream.
This feels amazing.
What do you notice?
The dewy finish.
Give me some of that.
This is something for you.
Lots of options.
Thank you so much.
Shannon is using an instrument called a corneometer.
So the corneometer measures your skin's hydration.
So you can use it before and after product application.
Let's try it.
Yes, let's try it.
Let's do your baseline, see where we are to start.
Fifty-seven.
Now, I'm going to give you the Microsculpting Cream.
Now, let's see what happens after you use the Microsculpting
Cream.
Ninety-nine.
Wow.
A hundred and seven.
What?
Ninety-eight.
Very good.
Our mission today with Olay Principal Scientist, Dr.
Froekel Neuser.
Wasn't that fantastic?
It was amazing.
You're a seasoned veteran now.
Y'all like that?
Traveling around.
I thought I knew most of the issues women were raising.
What was the issue that surprised you the most with all
of these folks you spoke to?
No matter their age, there were so many women who weren't sure
what products are right for them.
Some women weren't using any moisturizer at all because they
just didn't know what might be right for their skin.
A lot of the young women were confused, it seemed to me.
Listen, I know you guys are all struggling with the right
skincare products.
We talk about it a fair amount.
I hear it from folks in audiences.
There are lots of options.
How is Olay helping?
Finding the right skincare product is not just about addressing
your specific skin concerns such as dryness, texture, fine lines,
firmness.
It's just as much about finding the right feel and texture of
the product you use.
Do you want a rich, nourishing feel and a product that gives
you a dewy finish?
Or do you prefer a lightweight feel and a matte finish?
Well, no matter the feel that you prefer, we have formulated
the Olay Regenerous Moisturizers with peptide, vitamin B3 and
hydrating ingredients to give you the skincare benefits that
you want.
Since you're a seasoned road warrior, come over here.
You got a little demo to help showcase the micro sculpting
technology.
And I want to really bring this alive because we have the
opportunity now to teach folks something that is truly memorable.
So what have you guys done?
So I've brought with me these little, we call them hydration
beads, and I like to compare them to your skin cells, especially
as they get older.
So if you look at these beads here, they're kind of dry, they're
dull, they have no elasticity.
So think about, yes, your skin cells.
And now what we did with the beads, we soaked them in the Olay
Regenerous Micro Sculpting Cream overnight.
Now look at the difference, how much plumper and firmer and
glowier they are.
You can actually bounce them.
Oh my goodness.
Oh, I lost one.
And think about that.
What the micro sculpting technology can, you know, help with
your skin cells.
Because multiply that with, you know, thousands, hundreds and
thousands, millions of sharper skin cells, and then you kind
of see this effect here.
So those are the beads before, they are dry, they're dull, they're
really small.
And then about the same amount of beads in here, but fully
hydrated, plumbed, firm and bouncy.
And think of how many layers of skin you have, and you pile
them all up, it adds pretty quickly.
I mean, this is the same number of beads you said, right?
Roughly speaking, yeah.
It's a significant difference.
But what I really love is this.
Everyone wants that bounciness.
Even if they run away from you.
That's kind of what you lose over time, you know what I mean?
So the Olay Micro Sculpting Cream, who's it right for?
So it's really for everyone, anyone who likes their skin care
to feel kind of very rich and nourishing and give their skin
that, we call it dewy finish.
But we know there are women who just don't like that rich,
creamy feel of Micro Sculpting Cream, which is totally fine.
Now, of course, we want to give them those same skin care
benefits, but we know we have to do it with a product that
feels very differently.
And that's why we developed Olay Regenerous Whip.
So this is a product and moisturizer that absorbs really
quickly into your skin to deliver the hydration and the
peptide and the vitamin B3, but you can see that it doesn't
leave that shine, that oiliness, you know, residue.
Let's put it to the test.
Right, these blotting papers, they pick up oil and shine
and residue from the skin.
It doesn't stick.
That's pretty cool.
Look at that.
It doesn't stick.
And there's nothing on it.
And that's really that lightweight finish that you can
barely tell there's something there that a lot of women
want. So you have a choice, right?
You have one or two options whether you want that dewy
feeling or the lighter feeling, but your choice.
So in order to make it easy for all of you, I want everyone
in my audience to have a chance to test both products so
you don't have to decide.
So thanks to my partner at Olay, you're all going home with
Olay Regenerous Micro Sculpting Cream and enjoy it and share
it with your friends.

Can you please help a sister out, Dr. Oz?
We've been asking viewers to share their stories with us
and I love learning more about you and your lives.
I want to share one of my favorites with you today.
Take a look.
Hi, Dr. Oz.
My name is Damien Santana.
I'm a mental health advocate, spoken word artist, and I live
with Bipolar I Disorder.
I decided to come out of my bipolar closet about a year ago
after I had a manic episode in 2011.
I reached psychosis, was hospitalized, and came home.
I fell into the deepest depression and really hit rock
bottom.
I decided I would never talk about my illness, definitely
never write poetry again, and that bred a lot of problems.
It made me so much more anxious and depressed and I felt so
much more alone in my struggles with my mental illness.
Now, my story is that I really want to inspire others with
my poetry and just speaking out and helping and educating
others, but I can't help others unless I help myself.
I'm really grateful that I got the opportunity to share my
story with you and I look forward to hearing from you.
Damien is joining us via Zoom.
Damien, I'm so happy for your story and there's power in
it. What do you hope happens when someone who needs to
hear your message of hope sees it on the Dr. Oz Facebook
group page?
Thank you, Dr. Oz.
My biggest hope for those living with mental illness like
myself is that they know that they are deserving and can
live a fulfilling, meaningful, and happy life just like everyone
else.
Now, you talked about poetry a little bit earlier.
I heard you're writing poetry again.
If that's the case, no pressure.
I think everyone would love to hear a few lines.
Is that okay?
Yes, absolutely.
So, it's not just how we got through, it's what we've gone
through.
And how maybe, just maybe your past ugly can be your future
breakthrough.
Oh, I like that.
Little performance artist.
That's good.
Congratulations, Dailene.
Thank you for being here.
Remember, the power of change lies in the power of you.
Just one person, with one voice, speaking the truth, seeking
the truth.
Goodbye, everybody.
