What $25 Gets You at a Vietnamese Grocery Store 🇻🇳

Oh what did we just find? Super super cheap. What's he gonna pick? Evercrape, scallop and abalone. Welcome back to the channel guys. We are in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam at the Go Mien Dong Supermarket. We are going to be showing you some groceries. We're going to be doing a little grocery haul, telling you all the prices, showing you everything you need to know. Let's go in. It looks absolutely massive so I'm sure we're going to find a lot of good stuff. Okay wow we already have so much delicious looking chicken. That's super cool. There's a little eating area so if you want any of that takeaway food you can just eat there. Okay I feel like we need some sushi and you can get little ones for ten thousand dong. So check this out. There is beef right here right beside raw pork and chicken. So if you wanted a raw steak or a rare steak it might be contaminated with chicken here. And if you guys want you can get fresh fish right there. That's crazy right from the ocean. Or you can pick your fish if you wanted. Put a little rod in. That's wild. They have a huge selection of milk here. This is my absolute favorite milk in Vietnam. I love it but I already have some of that so we're going to go get some almond milk. Obviously if you want a cheap option this is what you get. You get the local milk. So this guy is $38,000. On sale. On sale. And the almond milk that I absolutely love is right here and that's $133,000 imported. So that's a splurge for me but that's a must because I love it. Extra virgin olive oil. Cold pressed. I've been doing this in the morning for health reasons. Olive oil is super healthy. $99,000. Super super cheap. Affordable. Is that affordable? I think it's pretty darn affordable compared to Vietnamese stuff. No. Compared to $74,000 for this huge thing of oil. This is literally a dollar more. Look at the size. Look at the size difference. Oh yeah. If you need a noodle guys this is the aisle for you. I really want to try these so I'm gonna get a pack of these ones. But you can find way cheaper. There's ones that are $12,000. More local ones. Even as cheap as $68,000. Chase is the chip master. I love chips. What's he gonna pick? Uh-huh. Something probably cheap and local since we've already gotten some premium items. So this one has some flames on it. You love that spice. You love that spice spice. I'm gonna try a snack wrap. Okay this looks delicious and it's $6,000. I'm gonna get this. These look amazing. This one or that one? Probably the regular one. Honey butter chips. $18,000. Yeah bargain hunting. You guys they literally have like a little noodle tower. That's so cute. Ever craved scallop and abalone pizza? No I can't say that I have. I kind of want to try but at the same time I don't think it would be good. You'd hate it. I already know you'd hate it. Okay we need to find cereal and oatmeal. Yep. Quaker is $115,000 and the local is $58,000. Which one are we gonna go for? The local one of course. Yeah. Okay so we've looked at all the prices for how much grammage is in them. Make sure to pay attention to that and that's gonna be the best deal. I'm just hoping that this doesn't require like a membership card or something. Let's hope not. We sometimes get screwed with that. If you guys see this coffee in Vietnam little three-in-one pouches they're actually so good. I stock up on these. So there's 500 grams of coffee for $78,000. Yeah wow. That's a good deal. That is a good deal compared to like you see all the high ticket ones here $141,000. That's not even bad. These are like local if you kind of go down here you start seeing the $250,000. This grocery store is really clean and proper. Yeah baby. It's actually crazy. I feel like there's more staff working here than people shopping. This is unbelievable. It's like Vietnamese root beer. Zero. No. What did we just find? There's only one left. I need like 50. No there's more. BRB. But the regular saxy we've had that one before. It's still amazing. Throwing that in for myself. That's $6,500. You guys there's matcha butter. Wow. Oh my god that's so great. Peanut butter seem pretty much the same price as in Canada. Maybe just a little cheaper. We have $65,000 for this. That one's actually pretty affordable but when you start getting into the jiff this seems pretty on par with Canada and stuff. $136,000. Yeah some of that imported stuff is definitely gonna run you. Look at this freaking Nutella. Oh my god $275,000. Oh my goodness. You can get a bottle of wine for $5. I see a lot of people drinking this beer this uh Bia Viet and you can get a huge case of it for $245,000. That's insane. Okay is this garlic? I don't know. There's garlic there. I don't even know what this is. It looks like onion garlic and some other stuff. Don't have to let us know. It wouldn't be Vietnam without all of the processed meats. You can make your own banh mi at home. The delicious processed meats that go in the sticky rice and the banh mi. Oh I love it. Okay we always need those protein gangs so we gotta find some eggs. Honestly Chase and I are not too picky when it comes to eggs. We usually just get what's cheapest. Yeah these look pretty alright. We got $28,000. You guys you can get pizza with a hot dog on it. That's crazy and there's so many delicious looking baked goods. Oh my gosh. So I'm looking at like longans and rambutans. I don't know if this is the cheapest grocery store to be in because even for the local fruit. 36,000 dong for that and you don't get very many. Yay we found some affordable fruit. We usually get that for that price so that's pretty much on par. Jackfruit's one of our favorites. It's a local fruit. Yum that's going. Look at the price of those apples per kilogram down there. Even on sale they're $129,000. That's insane. Apples are definitely not the cheapest in Vietnam. Back in my crazy fitness days I would get apples all the time in Vietnam and Chase hated it because I would spend like a dollar per apple and he's like get the local fruits and I'm like but I like the apples. Okay so we have lint coming in at 186,000 dong but I'm in the mood for some Meji black chocolate. It's delicious. Oh yeah baby. 54,000 dong. All right we need some coconut milk. Yeah. We're filling this cart. I don't know. We'd probably find that in cooking I bet. You think so? Yeah I don't think it'd be in this aisle. This grocery store is a little wing nutty. No it's not going to be here. Well lead the way honey. All right. Oh my gosh this is crazy. 82,000 dong for Heinz. I absolutely love Heinz compared to like 17,600 dong for regular just local ketchup but my beloved Heinz. Let's get the coconut milk. 34,000. Even this one on sale isn't that cheap. Yeah 38,000. This one's 51,000. And honestly I feel like they kind of just taste the same. Like coconut milk's one of those things where I don't know it's all similar to me. Okay this might be the most nuts one of all. 300,000 for Haagen-Dazs versus 63,000 for Milo. Our microphone's died so we're going to finish up with a voiceover. Here we have some Greek yogurt for 236,000 dong. Why is Greek yogurt always so expensive? Versus the local yogurt it's going to run you about 20 to 40,000 dong. We had to snag ourselves some shrimp dumplings. We love those. And if you fancy some fish heads there's no shortage of those. You can even get some drinks, bubble teas, and also some grab-and-go meals with veggies, potatoes, meat, and of course you have fruits and veg. Just make sure to look out for the deals. And there you have it. That is our final grocery haul. We paid 723,000 dong. Okay we have finished our grocery shopping. I would say that grocery store was about midpoint. Not super high-end but also not really budget. You just kind of have to look out for the deals. Some things are good deals, some things are more expensive.
