Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis video chronicles the lives of Brady and his partner as they navigate the emotional demands of animal rescue alongside Brady's professional football career. From daring rescue missions and the bittersweet process of fostering puppies to Brady's struggle with a shoulder injury and their philanthropic efforts, the narrative highlights a deep commitment to animal welfare and personal resilience.
Ella, we're going to post your puppies for adoption.
Stella is our foster dog.
Oh, look at little Winnie's face.
Oy vey, guvaltin shmear.
Stella's puppies, they're getting big and strong,
and they can go up for adoption.
Oh, they're so cute.
Look at them.
It's bittersweet, but I'm excited for them to go.
Gorgeous little freaks.
Now we wait to get your babies adopted, Miss Stella Ella.
Stella, on the other hand, that's going to be very,
very difficult for me.
She just became a part of the family very, very quickly.
When she looks up at you, it melts your heart.
It's just such a magical feeling.
Thank you.
Literally every fiber of my body wants to keep this dog,
but we already have four dogs.
Should we take your picture and put you up for adoption too?
What do you think?
It was a very tough decision.
She'll have a piece of my heart forever.
Look at that bald eagle.
Yeah.
Bald eagles everywhere here.
They all go after puppies.
Oh, oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
We are heading to Barron's River.
Going on a rescue run.
It's about a five-hour drive to get there.
We've been told there's a bunch of stray puppies.
All right, let's go see what we got going on here.
They were here yesterday, but I don't know where they are.
How many?
Seven.
Okay.
They could be anywhere.
They were under this red truck over here last week.
All right, let's go.
The pups are around seven weeks old,
and it's hard to find them.
This property's massive.
They're just roaming all around town.
No.
They could literally be anywhere.
Ugh.
Would they go, like, over there?
Yeah, sometimes they walk to her daughter's house.
Okay.
So there's a trail right here that we can go check.
Amanda is our community contact in Barron's.
She knows everybody in the community.
She knows every dog in the community.
They're so friendly.
Those little puppies are so friendly.
Are they?
Yeah.
I got involved because I was born and raised here,
and, like, we have a population that's just getting out of control.
There's not a lot of medical care for dogs around here.
I wonder if they went across the road.
Sometimes the mom goes to the garbage dump.
Should we go check?
The only thing going through my mind is, God forbid,
they were eaten by a wild animal or if they've been injured.
The mom was spotted at the garbage dump.
They think maybe the puppies would have followed her there.
Let's go check it.
The further we go and the more we look, you start to worry.
It's down this road here.
It's pretty far.
Hey, Jackie, can you hear me?
Yes.
Shannon and Jackie from Canine Advocacy are here in Barron's River with us today,
so they are going to meet us at the dump to come look for the stray puppies.
It's a dump down there.
I hope they're here.
Holy s***.
There's some big boys over here.
When we saw the bears at the dump, I was obviously concerned.
Definitely fearful that something could have happened.
Oh, my God.
There they are.
Oh, my God.
Let's go, let's go.
Move it, move it.
The mattress.
It's okay.
Hi.
Okay, wait.
We got to make sure they don't go.
Just grab them.
Just start grabbing.
One's over there.
I got to go grab that one.
No, no, no.
Where'd you go?
Okay, we got three here.
How many more are there?
Oh, here you guys are.
Oh, here, here, here.
It's okay.
You're okay, you're okay.
I'm going to lift up the mattress.
Oh, right there.
Right there, right there.
It's okay, it's okay.
Here.
It's okay, it's okay, it's okay.
This is seven.
We have seven?
Yeah.
That's the mom.
Should I just keep this one here?
Yeah, try to go lure mama.
Look.
It's okay.
You're okay.
Oh, they're so scared.
Will mama come?
She's just going to keep walking away.
You can't get close to her?
I mean, I tried.
You can't even get close enough to slip leash her.
No.
When we go on a rescue run, there's some dogs that we have to leave behind.
No.
There's no chance.
You might make yourself go crazy understanding that you can't save them all.
The puppies were old enough to be separated from their mom,
so we knew that they would be okay.
And now we know that we need a live trap in order to get the mom.
Okay, so in September we'll be back,
then we'll bring the live trap out and then do it that way.
Yeah, yeah.
The ones that we do save, we need to celebrate that.
That's what makes it worth it, and that's what keeps us going.
Look at the tail.
I'm so happy we found them.
Puppies in a mattress.
Yeah, that was wild.
But when you get them, it's like the best feeling in the world.
So I hurt my shoulder two weeks ago.
I go for regular massage anyways.
Brady, you good?
Yeah.
Okay.
But then also when you're dealing with an injury,
you can really focus on that one area.
How's your shoulder feeling?
It's better.
Is it still starting to move?
Not even that much anymore.
So week one, I rip off the biggest run of my career.
And I go down with a shoulder injury.
Grade 3 AC sprain in my right shoulder.
Coming back from injury, I find like the biggest thing is just the mental.
I know it's not 100% yet, and I don't want to use it, but I know that it's fine.
They wouldn't put me back in the field if it wasn't okay.
I've been given the green light to play this week.
Is that okay?
Yeah.
But the inner voice is playing games.
Are you truly ready?
Can you do this?
What if you take a hit in that shoulder?
Are you going to go down?
Are you going to make it worse?
Are you going to now miss more games?
It's hard to go full tilt when there's even just that little part that is like,
well, what if?
But my teammates need me out here.
So if I can be out here even at 60%,
I know that I can still make an impact and help my team win games.
Stella, come.
Your baby's going to follow you.
Ow.
Ooh, yeah.
Get that toe.
We have had so many people come in and out of our house to come visit the pups.
They are getting big.
They are.
They're cute, and they're adorable, and they're going to get adopted right away.
Yeah, get it.
Stella.
Come here, Stiles.
We've also got quite a bit of interest for people wanting to adopt Miss Stella.
She's going to make someone very, very, very, very happy.
Oh, my God.
Yes.
Come to me, puppies.
This would not be nearly as fun if this was five babies.
Like, imagine.
Man, no way.
Not at all.
Where are we at on the baby train?
I don't know.
I mean, I love kids.
I know.
I've always loved kids.
Yeah.
And I always thought I would have kids.
Poe's the opposite.
Yeah, you never want a kid, she said.
No.
But they would have great genetics.
They would get your—
They?
Like, plural?
How many are we having?
I would like more than one kid.
Two max.
Three max.
But kids are expensive.
Yeah.
I'm 36 and I still cost my dad money.
Like, I know I would love the crap out of a kid.
Yeah.
But I'd probably be a neurotic human.
Yeah, you'd be a helicopter mom, probably.
Come on.
You know that, babe.
As a mother, I'd probably be insane.
Right?
No, you'd be a great mother.
No, I know I'd be a great mother, but I'd make myself crazy.
And you know people would be coming up and being like,
oh my god, Brady Olivera's baby, let me kiss it.
I'd be like, don't kiss my baby.
Look at him.
If there is a moment that it happens, it'll just be like,
we'll be like, hey, you know what, actually we do want a kid.
Or we're gonna wake up and be like,
actually, you know what, we like our life the way it is
and keep on truckin' with our dogs.
And a cat.
And a rat.
Two rats, because they have to have a friend.
Hey!
Look at his face.
It's okay.
Brady is heading to Calgary.
Daddy's leaving.
It's his first game back since his shoulder injury.
Bye, boo boo.
Nellie.
She's stuck under there.
Why do you go under there, you little chonker?
Bye, baby.
I love you.
I'm jacked up.
I'm excited, ready to get back on the field.
Wasabi.
Am I last?
Yep.
I really miss Alex, obviously.
But I really miss the dogs as well.
But who do you miss more?
Bro, you'd say the same thing.
No, I would say you.
Alright, if you have to save me or a lady, who are you saving?
Lady.
See?
I've had her longer.
That's fine, you pick your dog, that's great.
You pick me still.
Alright, beat it.
Bye, Sarah.
Okay, bye, love you.
Love you, babe.
I do actually miss him a lot when he's gone, but don't tell him that.
This is not for you puppies.
Oh, yeah.
I am having a viewing party at our house to watch Brady's first game back since his injury.
We're going to hide the evidence of the brown boxes and I'm going to pretend like I made it all.
And our blue drinks.
I think we're 3-0.
Yeah, we're 3-0.
Always nervous when I watch him play, but a little bit more nervous now that I've already seen him get hurt this season.
Howdy, partners.
And welcome to the first ever Stampede Bowl in Calgary.
Oh, hi.
Brady's mom and sister, Shanie and Callie, are here.
My friend Damaris, Chelsea, and then my brother, Matt.
He usually shows up if there's food.
Look how cute he is.
This is a cutie.
Go, baby, go.
Go, go, go.
Gets a nice chunk on first down against this Calgary defense.
Gets fired up.
Dumps it off.
Hodge to Cole.
Total.
The game is not going well.
This is not good.
It sucks.
Brady's going to take it personally and he'll be pissed off with his performance and with their performance.
Go, Brady, go, Brady, go.
Like, what is going on right now?
Suffers defeat for the first time this season.
That's too bad.
Dang.
Brady's going to be upset.
Losing games stings.
Came back a little earlier than expected.
I had this big tape job on my shoulder.
I'm not moving it as great.
And I could barely even pump my arm.
Playing through it has definitely sucked.
Was it a risk?
Yeah.
You got to take that risk sometime and bet on yourself.
My biggest strength in this game is my toughness.
I can withstand a lot.
I'm going to keep getting up and I'm going to keep fighting because I understand my teammates need me.
I got to be out there.
Excited?
Mm-hmm.
Stella's puppies have been adopted.
Yo, Brady.
What's up, guys?
So there's one puppy left.
There he is over there.
Let's go see him.
I heard it's your birthday, too.
Yeah.
What a good birthday present.
Seeing them getting adopted is the best part about all this.
Benny, come.
Good boy.
Knowing that they're going to go to the most amazing family and thrive for the rest of their life.
How old are you turning today?
Nine.
You're pretty lucky.
You got spoiled.
What are you going to do?
Play with Benny.
What else are you going to do?
Feed him.
What else?
Walk him.
It's awesome.
It's really cool.
Really cool.
Thank you, guys.
Say bye, guys.
Send me pictures.
Good morning, everyone.
Welcome to Kingswood Golf and Country Club.
We are very happy to have the second annual Barking for Change Golf Tournament on the course.
Today is the Canine Advocacy Golf Tournament.
And I'm here as the guest of honor to bring not just animal lovers, but also football fans.
Our primary goal is to raise some money to pay off some of the vet bills today and have some fun.
Canine's vet bills can be anywhere from $30,000 to $50,000 a month.
Girls, let's go.
Just hang on tight.
Fundraisers are essential in order for us to be able to cover bills.
Okay, race you there.
Wait, Ryan.
Today, we're golfing with Brady's friend, Ryan, and his partner, Jasmine, who is the founder of Canine Advocacy.
It's a little touchy.
Oh, God.
We're going to die.
This will be my first time playing golf.
This is my literal nightmare day.
Are you going to show me what to do?
Where to hold it and stuff?
Watch Ryan.
Ryan is a great golfer.
He absolutely bombs it.
I'm going to try to today.
See how my shoulder holds up.
I've got to take it easy on my shoulder, but I don't want to let Canine down, so I'm here to still support them.
Golf a little bit, not too much.
You know, I can't compromise my ability to play football.
That feels so good, though.
So you hold it like this.
Keep your arms straight.
Concentrate on that front arm being straight.
Keep your feet.
Right.
Don't move the foot.
Oh, yeah.
See the pole?
Yeah.
That's what you're aiming for.
I'm cheering you on.
You got it.
Let's go.
It was in the river.
For someone who never swung a club to connect like that is really good.
I hit the ball.
Now you want to get into the cup.
Oh, into the pole?
Into the hole, the cup.
Yeah, where the pole is, though?
Yeah.
You can put a little bit of heat on it.
Okay.
Harder.
More than that.
Yeah, more than that.
Okay, okay, okay.
No, no, no, too hard.
I'm not patient enough.
Damn it.
It's so frustrating.
Like, why can't the ball just go in the hole?
So now we go to the next one?
Next hole.
So you just keep going all day?
Yeah.
Oh.
There's no, like, there's no breaks or anything?
We're just warming up.
Yeah, we're warming up.
I like, like, driving the cart.
And I like, like, the cute golf outfits.
That thing has pockets?
That's amazing.
No.
I just put them under.
Oh, it does have pockets.
Oh, sick.
This I got when I was in Toronto, I think, but it's, like, a few years old.
Oh, sorry.
They're talking about their clothes.
Are you serious?
This is a big putt.
This is a birdie putt.
This is a big putt.
Sorry.
Geez.
Ready?
Yeah!
Let's go!
Nice.
Yeah.
Good work, team.
Chest muscle.
Good work, team.
Yeah!
Alex doesn't like golf.
Makes me a little sad.
I was hoping that this is another activity that we could do together as, you know, a date.
No.
Oh, my God!
You almost smoked it.
It didn't hit a duck.
Holy ----.
I don't think I like this sport.
Come on.
Come on, Stella.
Come on, baby girl.
Stella is going.
No.
I'm not ready.
Stella's getting adopted today.
This is why we do it, though.
I know.
To make sure every dog gets spoiled, hits the jackpot with the most amazing family.
And Stella, indeed, hit the jackpot.
This couple's incredible.
They're going to spoil her.
Hi.
Hi, guys.
Hi, Stella.
They've been looking for a dog for a few years now.
That's awesome.
There you go.
There we go.
And they just, like, saw her photo, and she was just like, this is my dog.
We got her house all ready.
We got all the stuff.
Okay, good.
We've had her for so long, and she's just been, like, a big part of the last, like, three months.
Like, it's just, her and I have become very bonded.
I'm going to miss you, but you're going to have such a good life.
I can tell.
Throughout the whole foster experience with Stella,
there's definitely times where we felt like she was just our dog,
and us having conversations of, you know, do we add her to the pack?
I'm fine.
It's happy tears.
She's going to be so, so, so loved.
This is what we do, you know.
We foster, find dogs in the most incredible homes,
and now this opens up another space if we do want to foster another dog.
Love you.
Bye, Stella.
Love you.
Can you take her?
There we go.
Bye, Stella.
You all right?
I see your new setup.
Every dog we adopted, they hit the jackpot, I swear.
These are happy tears.
I know, I know, it's good.
I'm just a baby.
I always—
Alex is like this with everything.
No, I'm not.
Not with every single dog.
They're leaving.
Do you want to go walk over there?
No.
I could be naming all the dogs' names that you fell in love with that you wanted to keep,
but we can't keep them all.
I'm just a soft baby.
I love them too.
Yes, but you definitely are.
It's easier for you to give them up.
We need both sides here, because if we were both like this—
It'd be a nightmare.
We'd have 50 dogs in our house.
Another one in the books.
Good work.
Next time on Must Love Dogs.
Oh, she's wiggly.
We're going to bring some dogs, get them spay and neuter and vaccinated.
How many more dogs?
Eight.
Eight more dogs?
Hi, sweetheart.
It's very clear that there's something wrong with this dog's leg.
Birthday touchdown, what do we think?
Takes the snap, hands it off to Brady.
Yes!
