Dog Found Guarding Abandoned Baby in Forest Leads Search Party to Incredible Rescue

Search coordinator Odalys Ferreira-Nakamura had a missing hiker to find that morning, not an infant. But the stray dog blocking the trail near the ridge had other plans, refusing every attempt to move past it.

Inside the thicket it guarded was a shivering baby, wrapped and hidden, with no campsite or family in sight. Following the dog further, the search team found the answer — a hidden camp, and a family who had been surviving alone in the wilderness far longer than anyone realized.
