Pessac Léognan vs Saint Julien — Which Bordeaux Should You Buy?

Pessac Léognan vs Saint Julien — Which Bordeaux Should You Buy?

The world of Champagne

If you had US$75 to spend on a bottle of fine Bordeaux, would you choose Pessac-Léognan or Saint-Julien?

In this video, I compare two bottles from my own cellar:
Château Pape Clément (Pessac-Léognan) ‪@ChateauPapeClement‬
Château Léoville Barton (Saint-Julien)

After more than 30 years of collecting Bordeaux, these remain two estates I continue buying because they consistently deliver outstanding quality without the prices of Bordeaux's biggest names.

Although both come from the Left Bank, they couldn't express Cabernet Sauvignon more differently. Pape Clément is generous, smoky and luxurious. Léoville Barton is classical, structured and beautifully balanced.

In this video I'll explain:

Whether you're building your first cellar or adding another great bottle to an established collection, I hope this comparison helps you decide where to spend your next US$75.
