The Incredible Find We Never Expected to See Here
HUNTSVILLE
What looks ordinary from the street turns into one of the most surprising antique stops we explore in Huntsville, Alabama.
Railroad Station Antiques & Interiors doesn’t look much like an old railroad station, but this 1910s building quickly draws us inside with antiques and furnishings visible from the street. At first, the spaces feel like the traditional interiors we expect in the Deep South, but the deeper we explore, the more interesting the mix becomes. True antiques and vintage pieces appear everywhere, including a substantial Victorian etagere with Florentine boxes and colorful Coalport china, glowing 1930s Aurora uranium glass, Blenko and Swarovski glass, WWII-era jewelry, and Lictonware MCM redware.
The surprises continue across all three levels. Bjorn Winblad shares space with banjos, while carved Black Forest walnut furniture, pickled bamboo from around 1900, regional paintings, and art glass reveal just how varied this antique emporium is. Familiar pieces also bring back memories, from childhood collections and vintage fashions to Roseville Pottery and an entire shelf of Snoopy collectibles. Then the mood shifts again with an exotic Minton bird, Moser glass, and an immaculate green velvet Vladimir Kagan MCM sofa that looks unmistakably 1970s modern.
Railroad Station Antiques & Interiors gives us the kind of antique-shopping experience we enjoy most: enough familiar pieces to spark memories, enough unusual finds to keep us curious, and enough variety that we never know what waits around the next corner. If this shop is any indication, Huntsville, Alabama, gives antique lovers plenty of reasons to return, especially with Antique Row and more shops still left to explore.
