Eight Boxes of Vintage Treasures & More to Come
What vintage finds are worth carrying across the country for one of Portland’s biggest antique events? This preview includes colorful art glass, elegant jewelry, unusual decor, classic paper ephemera, and several surprises we cannot leave behind.
We’re packing for the Rose City Vintage Show in Portland, Oregon, and we’re reviewing the fresh finds joining everything already reserved for the trip west. The collection begins with large Blenko and Italian glass pieces in rich 1960s blue and purple tones, a striking MCM pottery piece from an unexpected source, and playful kitsch ranging from an original Blackamoor lamp to a psychedelic Sylvester the Pussycat stapler. A Limoges charger, an Owens Utopia jug, and a 1920s chalk chieftain add even more variety for collectors who enjoy both vintage design and true antiques.
The jewelry and boudoir additions bring another layer of glamour, led by an elegant 1980s Clay Art wall mask. Mesh purses and reticules from the 1890s through the 1950s, brass jewel boxes, and MCM travel cases hold sterling and costume jewelry, including signed pieces and examples set with coral, garnets, and malachite. Antique and vintage paper ephemera also joins the group, with catalogs, photographs, maps, ink blotters, sales brochures, military items, concert memories, favorite brands, and a stack of classic car brochures that capture everyday life from decades past.
We still have more to gather when we arrive in the Northwest, but this preview shows why we’re so excited to return after missing last year because of illness. With three other vintage resellers sharing the space, the booth promises an inviting mix of color, nostalgia, history, and unexpected finds for jewelry lovers, antique collectors, and anyone who enjoys seeing what turns up next.
