There are countless natural pools all around Switzerland, and people keep arguing about which one is the best. But let me take you to what might just be the best secret swimming spot in Switzerland—a place where you can enjoy incredible scenery and serenity almost all to yourself.
We are heading to the canton of Ticino, deep into the wild Val Onsernone. After what feels like an endless drive, basically to the end of the world, you have to get out of your car and start a steep 200-meter descent into the valley.
At the bottom, you’ll find the Isorno River, with its crystal-clear water and beautiful natural pools.
And hidden down there is my secret swimming spot: Pozz dal Tecc dal Böcc, a spectacular natural pool glowing in shades of green.
But you really have to earn it. Getting down there is already an adventure—and even once you’ve reached the river, things get a little tricky.
Will this beautiful spot get spoiled after this video? Probably not. It was once even featured in one of Switzerland’s major newspapers. A few more people came for a while, but the effect didn’t last.
