Online scammers target Steinbach organizations

Earl Funk, mayor and business owner in Steinbach, and a local animal rescue have both been targeted by financial scams. Funk lost $3,000 to a fake supplier invoice, while the rescue avoided a loss from a fraudulent donation check. Local police warn that these scams are increasing and urge victims to report incidents immediately to assist in recovery efforts.
