I don't think you're ready for this, Janet I don't think you're ready for this, Janet
I don't think you're ready for this My body too cool, delicious for you, babe
I'm a survivor, I'm not gon' give up I'm not gon' cower, I'm gon' work harder
I'm a survivor, I'm gonna make it I'm a survivor, he won't survive it
If his status ain't good I ain't driving for him
Better be street if you're looking at me I need a soldier
When he's getting stand up for me
I see those videos and to think that we had so many hits we couldn't even put them in a show
Yeah, hit after hit after So I'm really grateful for that
Yeah, Destiny's Child Reimagined Tour, it is back
I know that there was a phase one earlier this year but fans were like, they weren't like no, no, no, no, no
They said yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, bring it back
It was 3 degrees, snowing and hundreds of people showed up so we had to come back
D.C. is a special place and so we're back, we're trying something different
We're gonna be at the Howard Theater on a Sunday afternoon at 4.30 and 6.45
So we thought we'd try some different things
Set the scene for us, we're talking thousands of candles lit and then also some of the hits being done by a what?
A five string quartet or quintet?
Quintet, and you're walking in chic and I'm walking in sharp and the lights are down
And like you said, the candles are there and it's setting the scene and you're hearing these amazing songs
But you're also hearing the backstories of how these songs came about
You know, some of them came about when there was triumph
And some of the songs came about when there was chaos and some trying times for each one of the ladies
So I get to share that with the audience
I love that aspect about this, how you are just going to include the storytelling aspect behind some of the biggest hits
You'd be surprised
What would you say is the greatest legacy of Destiny's Child?
I think the greatest legacy will be their give back to women
And making independent women, that song will be like the benchmark of their legacy
Resilience, power, I think that will be their legacy
And let me tell you, listening to those songs myself growing up, that's exactly what I felt
You feel like it's just an anthem of sorts, so many of those hits
As the brand architect behind Destiny's Child, one of the greatest groups of all time
I'm curious to know when it comes to building your brand
Especially we're in a time now where the creator economy is all about that
Now there's TikTok, there's Instagram, there's streaming
If you had to rebuild their brand today, what would you do differently and what would you keep the same?
In terms of their creativity and their talent, it's there
And it always was there
And also their passion for this and their love for their fan base
We would go about the marketing different, as you just said
It's a different day, radio is not what it was years ago
But we would keep some of those elements, but the digital world is different
And you can't do this without social media
So that part of the equation would be new
But having hit songs, they can be 20, 30, 40 years old
And we remember where we were, we remember what we were doing when we hear those songs
Absolutely, Survivor for one, I got a whole crowd on their feet on vacation in Cancun
Growing up doing karaoke, singing Survivor
There's just so many memories and just moments in our life's chapter
And that's what it's about, memories, moments, and singing your heart out
It's just beautiful to hear the ladies and men just sing these songs and reimagine where they were
I'm proud of what we created and I hope everyone will come out on Sunday
Go to destinieschild.com and reserve your seats now
Alright, I love it, I wish we had more time, Mr. Knowles
But this just means you have to come back to talk to us
I will come back, thank you for the time
You're so welcome
Alright, Steve, I'm going to send things over to you
