Lack of rain leads to longer-lasting dust

Arizona is experiencing a surge in monsoon storms and severe dust storms, some reaching category five. These events have significantly degraded air quality, posing health risks to older adults and those with asthma. While rain is expected later in the week to help clear the air, the lack of wind to push out previous debris has kept particulate matter over the metro area.
