Bonjour friends,

How have you been?

I'm sorry for another very late video. With the heatwave in France, I've been hiding in the dark like a grumpy and sweaty little slug not doing much.

When the thunder arrives, I almost weep with joy and welcome it like a long lost friend. The heatwave has been really awful for most of us, but like always, especially for the most vulnerable people in our society. People without proper housing or no housing at all. Working class people who had to work in the heat for a low salary, elderly people or people with health issues, etc..

Nature has also been greatly impacted by the heat; birds, plants, wild animals, all have paid a heavy price too. It's quite heartbreaking to see.

The garden is no exception, most of my potato plants were all dried up so I decided to harvest them and I prepared a potato salad, which was quite good even if not the prettiest salad I made hahaha.

I also went to the ocean for a swim and fresh air; after those stifling days, it felt like breathing again after a long time. I also harvested some beans in the garden. In France, we call those yellow beans "haricots beurre" which means butter beans, but I think butter beans are different in other countries. They were really bad, stringy and tasteless, but it's okay. I will do better next time.

I also picked a little bit of Mirabelle plums and made a new recipe I was intrigued by. A plums sweet gratin. I was really good and I wrote the recipe just below, if you want to try it. The hazelnuts and plums are delicious together. It's even better when cold the day after.

Hope you will have a great day.

Thank you so much for watching this video and for your support.

Take care friends, see you soon
