Peat Meets French Oak 👀🥃 | Laphroaig Cairdeas French Oak | Feis Ile 2026 | The Neckpour

It's taken me a while, but I'm finally a Friend of Laphroaig. 👀🥃
In this Neckpour first impression, we're opening my first ever Cairdeas release — the 2026 Fèis Ìle Cairdeas French Oak.
This year's release takes Laphroaig's unmistakable Islay peat and finishes it in French oak, creating a combination that promises extra spice, richness and complexity while keeping that classic medicinal character.
I've wanted to experience a Cairdeas bottling for a long time, so it feels fitting that my first one comes straight from Fèis Ìle. Expectations are high… but as always, the only thing that matters is what's actually in the glass.
💬 Is Cairdeas a release you look forward to every year? And what has been your favourite Cairdeas bottling so far?
