According to the Saudi Press Agency, the leaders reviewed ongoing regional issues while emphasizing the importance of ensuring security and freedom of maritime navigation, a key concern amid continuing tensions across West Asia.

The call also focused on expanding Saudi-French bilateral cooperation and addressing regional and international issues of mutual interest. The discussion comes after months of heightened tensions triggered by coordinated Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iran, followed by Iranian missile and drone attacks. Although a memorandum signed between Iran and the U.S. in June ended active hostilities and launched negotiations through Pakistani and Qatari mediation, talks later stalled over disagreements involving maritime security and navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
