Blessed by Demons, by Kaleb Wade. A proper look at what might be one of the strongest mentalism books out this year.

Kaleb's independent releases have always impressed me, his Frankenstein book test and his version of Out of This World are both brilliant, so when this landed I was hoping it would live up to them. It does, and then some.

This is all of Kaleb's mentalism, 26 routines give or take, split across close-up and stage, with real developments and enhancements rather than filler. PK touches, fourth dimensional telepathy, billet peeks, card mentalism, an add-a-number routine that looks gimmicked when it isn't, phone routines built on classic foundations rather than apps doing the work. I teach one properly in this video, Dark Sun, which Kaleb kindly gave me permission to share with the Online Magic community.

There's also Death by Acid, which gave me a whole new way to handle something I was already doing badly, six bonus routines that are anything but filler, and six or seven essays woven through the book that are genuinely worth reading on their own, including a piece on stage fright that's close to worth the cover price by itself. There's real vulnerability in the writing too, about his mum and about his wife, and it's genuinely, properly funny in places.
