All right, this is James Pelton,
and I'm here with the team from Combe Finance.
Thank you guys for joining us,
and I want to thank my audience.
This was kind of a more late notice one,
so I hope you were able to hop in your,
maybe you just saw it pop up on your YouTube,
and you're wanting to hop it up.
More late notice one, so I hope you were able to
We got some James Pelton-ception going on here.
I'll meet you guys.
I could hear you guys through your mic,
so that's a little, is that how I sound usually?
I'm so sorry, I sound a lot different
in my head when I talk.
But yeah, I'm here with the team from Combe Financial,
so if you're here in the audience,
please hit the like button.
That's the number one thing that you can do.
Also subscribe if you're not already,
but hitting that like button tells YouTube
that this is important stuff,
and then YouTube also likes to see comments,
so I always ask kind of a random question.
But maybe I'll ask here today.
Curious, what projects are you looking at today?
Me and Sam were just talking about
how it's kind of difficult, YouTubers in a bear market,
because before there was 1,000 projects
coming at me every day, and now there's a lot less.
And so it's kind of like, well, what do I look at today?
So what projects are you looking at?
What projects are you excited about?
One project that I am keeping in close contact with
is Combe Financial, so let's turn over to them.
Thank you guys for joining here.
Can you start out, just for people who don't know,
you've been on my channel a few times,
but could you quickly introduce yourself?
Yeah, I'll go.
And first off, I really want to apologize to,
just what happened, that was literally me
going the whole time.
I was like, what is going on?
So people can kind of tell by my facial reaction.
I was getting like five different, I guess,
points, but it was from Twitter,
because the Twitter was open,
and it plays directly from the Twitter,
so I was like, where is this actually coming from?
Gotcha, yeah.
I'm hearing your voice like five times,
but hello to everybody that might be new,
or if you are watching.
My name is Sam.
I run product and growth at Combe Financial,
and I'm accompanied by the founder, Phil,
and also the lead dev.
Yeah, hey, my name's Philip.
I'm the lead dev here at Combe,
and we're really excited to be here as well.
Wow, short and sweet.
Yeah, you can, better too much, James,
than too little, right, Sam?
No, 100%.
That was the most James ever had in like 30 seconds.
I was like, Jesus, since you know, the coffee.
I was thinking there's something in my drink,
I'm not gonna lie, what was going on.
I was like, did someone spike this drink?
No, I'm kidding, but yeah,
this is a really, really excited,
always such a pleasure to be on your show,
your community as well, and yeah,
hopefully we can have a fun discussion.
I think that was a great way to start it, to be honest.
Yeah, that's right, that's right.
Okay, cool, well, so I don't want you
to kind of walk through the project from the beginning.
What I wanna do is we've talked about how,
so the Node projects have kind of,
they're, you know, collapsing, right,
because they're finding out,
oh, hey, we need a revenue source,
and one of the things that drew me to Combe
was that you guys were on that early.
So you were saying before all the other Node projects
were, hey, this isn't gonna last very long.
We need a revenue stream coming in, or this is gonna die.
So can you talk a little bit about,
well, can you talk a little bit about Zcombe?
I think there's some confusion as to what that is
and what that's doing, so can we kind of start with that?
Yeah, of course.
So first and foremost, I do wanna thank Stinky,
or Jacob himself, he is our tokenomics guy.
He actually called Capping Nodes.
He's the one who actually curated the whole Nodes cap,
which kind of made us think more outside the box
with Zcombe, and Phil actually curated the product
about Zcombe as well.
But yeah, I really want to thank him himself,
anybody that's in our Discord would know him.
But yeah, we capped our Nodes back in,
I would say mid-March,
and the main reason for capping the Nodes was,
you know, we saw that it was,
that it wasn't gonna end well, it's inflationary,
and we thought to ourselves at the same time
is that we didn't want to invest in other protocols
or any other, I would say, type of protocols out there
for us to be like the driving factor
of our revenue stream, right?
So we had to start kind of thinking
a little bit more internally,
and then that's when we kind of whole devised up
this entire infrastructure,
which kind of led to the creation of Zcombe, right?
So Zcombe is a revenue share model.
It is locked comb, so there's no difference between,
the only difference between comb and Zcombe
is Zcombe is just locked comb.
And essentially, when you lock your comb,
depending on like the duration from like two weeks
to two years, you get rewarded by the APR.
So the 248% APR that you see on your right,
now that is a dynamic APR itself,
but it is basically,
and there's a lot of variables that play into it,
like the price of comb, our revenue factors,
but essentially our main driving factor for revenue
is our pools and compounders currently.
And also we're actually making profit from our marketplace
that we released a few weeks back.
We are Discord, we actually have a bots log
where you guys can kind of see.
Yeah, the marketplace is a really cool product.
Right now you can only, you can buy basically nodes,
eyes that are essentially from our protocol.
But yeah, I don't know, Phil,
do you have anything you want to touch base
on more like simpler terms maybe?
Yeah, so overall the whole driving factor
of this is also then our pools as well,
because there's multiple ways you can invest into comb
and the majority of it is into Zcomb
where you can lock it for a certain period of time.
In addition, you could also hop into the pools as well,
which will help also drive the revenue of Zcomb.
So a great strategy, if you were interested into Zcomb,
I would start you all off with,
would be investing in a pool
in which you could find your assets
you want to invest into.
So this could even be stable coins,
this could be phantom,
this could be like a lot of different types of pools.
You earn that comb and then you put it right back
into Zcomb compounding
and compounding your earnings over time.
Compounding is one of the best things you could do
at least in finance as well.
So I really recommend if you want,
if you're interested into Zcomb,
you would go with that strategy as well.
Okay, so I think the pools are the most straightforward.
So yeah, these are basically just, you know,
yeah, they're just liquidity pools.
And so you're putting stuff,
you're putting things into the,
these are the APRs.
Again, my favorite is the Stardust and MIM one.
You get the 42.6%
and you get your returns in comb token, correct?
Yes.
And then you also have these compounders,
these auto-compounders,
which this is kind of just like your
beefy finance or yield wolf.
Yeah, so we're actually revamping this
and it's going to be very, very cool when we,
slight alpha, but we'll get into it more in depth.
But we actually are going to potentially
have a James Pelton pool in there.
I got to talk to you about that.
That's going to be really cool.
It's going to be really cool actually.
But yeah, we're actually revamping our yield optimizers.
There needs to be a lot more,
I would say, it just,
that's like one of the first in line products
that we have within our protocol
to, I would say, advance upon.
But yeah, our pools are very straightforward.
There's a lot that goes into it behind the scenes as well.
And there's currently two ways,
there's three ways if you want to count Zcom
as a means to earn COM within our infrastructure.
Obviously the best way to earn COM is if you own the node.
That's what makes nodes so attractive in the first place.
It's like you're owning a piece of stock
and you're being paid in that stock daily,
multiple times throughout that day.
But if that stock's price is not anything,
then that stock's meaningless.
And that was in my eyes.
That's where the harshness of it,
but yeah, our pools are another means
of how you can generate COM and Zcom as well.
So there's a lot of ways you can play around
within our platform.
Like Phil was mentioning,
there's a lot of different strategies
that we personally use.
But if you're a node holder,
obviously if you invest your COM into Zcom,
there's different ways you can increase your stream,
like your different streams of revenue
that come into your pocket.
That's the number one way.
People always say like, hey, passive income,
the best streams of passive income
is like how many different streams do you have
going into one pocket, right?
So our goal at COM is to offer as many possible ways
or avenues that you can have money coming into your pocket
so that your pants aren't just two pockets
or you're gonna turn into cargo pants at that point.
So you need different pockets there.
That's good marketing, that's good marketing right there.
Yeah, one more thing is that if you do invest into Zcom
or these pools or anything,
eventually, at least in the pools,
your funds are withdrawable anytime.
And then for Zcom as well,
depending on when you lock it,
you eventually will get your investment back
if you are fierce about that
because a lot of things with nodes
is that when you invest, it's like gone forever.
At least with Zcom and now the pods as well,
and then the pools,
your funds are withdrawable whenever.
It's possible.
So if you're concerned about that,
that's also a way that you could feel more comfortable.
Okay, yeah, and by the way, my vanity,
I am up for anything that's named after me.
I'm in and I'll probably invest, so.
Of course, that's why I did it.
I was like, I know James.
I gotta make a pool called James Peloton Pool
and then we'll kind of see, you know,
but it's gonna be a great product in my opinion.
You're not the first project to do that
where they'll name something James Peloton
and I'll be like, oh, I'm in, I'm in.
I don't even know what it is, but I'm in.
So of course.
Yeah, it works, that's right.
So is Zcom, is it essentially
just investing into the pools for you
or what exactly is going in in Zcom behind?
So you get all these different tokens.
What's going on under the covers there?
Yeah, so basically what happens is
the pools are forming an underlying reward.
I'll let those be the four,
I guess the six now that are mentioned here.
And basically those are distributed back to Zcom holders
and they are incentivized.
The people who invest in pools are incentivized with Com.
So it's kind of like a flywheel effect
where you earn Com to invest back into the protocol
and kind of compound over time.
And then there's additional revenue
including these compounders and the marketplace
and the validator that all come into as revenue streams
into the protocol, into Zcom.
And there will always be a base APR
just because there are treasury investments
into these pools and so that we can always guarantee
that at some point there is a form of revenue coming in,
at least into the Zcom rewards as well.
Okay, and I do wanna bring in some audience questions.
By the way, audience, if you have questions,
the advantage of doing it live is I can bring those up
and sometimes I don't know what you guys
are wondering about.
So this is a really good question Mattias has,
is by using a pool, what are the risks?
So what would be the risk in using these pools?
Permanent loss, is that correct?
Yeah, so the first one is probably impermanent loss
which is the risk of your values
and the value of the assets being shifting
away from each other.
And so that when you put it in together,
they aren't the same when you pull it out.
Although that is a risk, majority of these pools
were picked to kind of curb that.
But if you're scared of like impermanent loss,
there's calculators everywhere for that.
You go into like a stable coin form
that doesn't really suffer that,
which is the Stardust and MIM.
And besides that, it's really a variable like factors
that really play.
For some of these, these protocols behind them
are also responsible if they ever suffer
any exploits or vulnerabilities.
And as well as just the platform itself.
Otherwise, the major one right now
is really just impermanent loss.
And if you don't really know about that,
there's a bunch of different resources on the internet
to really describe how that's calculated
and what that is really.
Okay, and then what are your thoughts?
So you guys are kind of very phantom centric.
What is your guys' thoughts on FTM sustainability?
We think the majority of Phantom
is actually pretty sustainable
and in the sense that it is a huge DeFi chain.
And so I feel like one of the reasons
why Phantom hasn't been performing as well as it can be
in the, I guess, the recent months
is because the fact that it's only
and solely defined as a DeFi chain.
And so as soon as it starts rewriting its narrative
to become more than a DeFi chain,
to accept NFTs, to gamify,
to have all this different utility in a sense,
it leverages this DeFi economy
and then we'll just accelerate the other chain
that's really existed out there.
And so, yeah, Phantom's been having
kind of a rough week so far,
but thoughts on Phantom sustainability.
In the long term, it's looking pretty good.
There are some concerns, which would be like the runway.
But obviously, we have a really good backing
in the terms of, I guess, the DeFi aspect.
And so sustainability is probably gonna be there for a bit.
Okay, well, let's move over to the,
oh, I need to get my screen back here,
you mean, give me a second.
So let's go ahead and move over to hives and pods, okay?
So hives are kind of your traditional nodes
and there's a cap on those,
but if you still want one,
you can get one off the marketplace, is that correct?
Yes.
Okay, and one question,
is there any benefit to buying a withered hive
off of the secondary marketplace or over the price?
So withered hives aren't necessarily anything better
than a regular hive
or buying them off the marketplace is better.
But if you do wanna have a long-term investment into zComb
or just want comb over time,
a withered hive is still the way to go
because any form of comb emission
is really valuable at this point
because if you really look at it,
3% of our total supply is already locked up into zComb.
So over time, the price of comb and what comb is
is gonna be valuable over time
and getting your hands on comb itself
before it's like not minting as much as it can be
is really valuable because there's a point
where our buy pressure is gonna appreciate the value
so much past our emissions.
And so that's kind of the benefit
is just buying a hive itself
is already something more beneficial
than you could do in the entire ecosystem.
And furthermore, there's benefits with having a hive
in the space that we are looking to incorporate them
in a future game as well.
Okay, very cool.
All right, let's talk about pods, okay?
So pods are kind of the recent development
and that's actually what we're here
to talk about mainly today.
Can you talk about what a pod is
and then we'll talk about the new pod
that's launching tomorrow?
Yes, so a pod is basically an NFT
that utilizes zComb and pools
and majority of our DeFi ecosystem
to kind of generate yields.
And so with a one-time investment,
what investment you could actually withdraw now
or at the end of the health period of a pod,
you can earn your token of choice.
So you can earn 148% APR on AVAX,
on Ethereum, on Bitcoin or Phantom,
just with a one-time investment.
And then those rewards are variable and very dynamic,
but they're fluctuating based on the APR of zComb
and these pools.
And over time, these assets will appreciate in value.
A pod is really a value investment
and I think Sam can go over that just a little.
Yeah, so I always kind of like to simplify
as much as possible.
So like a quick one-liner
or just kind of what you want to think about is,
think of it as kind of a digital real estate to an extent.
We want to deliver our infrastructure
in a very simple manner.
Because when zComb came out,
there was a lot of confusion with zComb
with whether it's a different token
or just what's going on.
It also rewarded users with different,
like an array of currencies.
And we thought to ourselves
that that might've been too, I would say, overwhelming
coming from like the node space
where you were delivered on a silver platter,
like simple passive income.
And with a pod, we kind of wanted to deliver
that same type of message and sentiment
in a format of currencies that you guys
and just investors themselves are just attracted to.
So that's why the first three sets
were Phantom, Ethereum, Bitcoin,
is that because we know how attractive
all three of these currencies are, these tokens.
At the same time, we also want to provide
a value for your investment
and by making these products scarce.
And it's funny because at the same time,
we have to be mindful for all the other investors.
So zComb still is one of the best investments
that you can possibly,
is the best investment you can possibly make
with our infrastructure.
You're basically owning equity of comb.
And equity is by revenue.
You share a piece of revenue within our protocol.
By utilizing our whole entire infrastructure,
like farming and all that stuff.
Now that's where everybody wins.
So then we took a step back with pods
and this is why this is only possible
with our own infrastructure.
You can't really fork this.
It's very hard.
Not very hard.
It's not like you really can't sustain it.
Is that if you look at the mechanics behind a pod,
we want to keep it simple.
So it's a 10 token type of structure
or 10 comb tokens get you one pod.
Now out of those 10 tokens,
the ratio we have has changed.
So currently the ratio went up from six to seven,
but seven of those comb tokens go into zComb
and it locks you up.
So that's why the APR of the pod
is dependent on zComb as well.
And it's dynamic.
So it fluctuates constantly.
So you'll see that 148 change
in the next 30 minutes or something else.
And a lot of this also strives
through sustaining the protocol and the product.
With that being in mind,
so six, seven of those tokens go into zComb.
Now 2.5 of those tokens go into our farms
and then 0.5 gets liquidated and goes to the treasury.
So the whole aspect of what's going on
is that we want to provide a product
that basically behind the scenes
delivers our entire infrastructure
what a perfect user would do.
If a perfect user,
and keep the ratio constants,
like just constant,
as far as what ratio,
six, 70% going to zComb,
keep that constant.
But what a perfect user in our case story
would be like, okay,
a user utilizes our pools,
utilizes our yield optimizer,
utilizes zComb,
just basically is utilizing our platform
to the most of the ability, right?
What we want to provide.
So we want to kind of deliver a product
that does that behind the scenes.
However, for you as an investor,
you get delivered your currency
that you want in the most simplified manner
where it's like, you know what?
I pay 10 Comb tokens.
That's my APR.
I get daily rewards.
And I can go play Frisbee with the dog or something, right?
You can do whatever you want.
You don't have to spend your time on a deck
swapping six different coins or what have you.
You get that one token that you want.
And yeah.
And as Phil was mentioning,
we want to make it a value products.
You know, like,
that's why I'm saying kind of digital real estate,
even though I don't want to use that term
because it sounds kind of scammy in a weird way.
But it's more so like, you know,
like digital,
like when we think of real estate,
what's like the biggest attraction for real estate?
You know, the value of your real estate
basically appreciating, right?
Also the cashflow to an extent
is what attracts people to that monthly cashflow.
But it's more of that appreciation
of that property over time.
And with pods and the direction
that we're going as a protocol,
pods increasing in value is inevitable, right?
Our circular supply is low.
As Phil also mentioned previously,
there's going to be a point where buy pressure
is going to exceed sell pressure.
So it's a matter of time.
You know, the market has hit us,
but if you guys do take a look,
take a step back.
We did a lot of changes beforehand
to kind of prep for this.
And we're going to keep prepping as, you know,
circumstances kind of keep presenting itself to us.
And as you guys know,
we're very, very quick and able to pivot
within like, you know,
a snap of a finger,
we can pivot into a new product or just new service,
just so we are securing our investors funds
as much as possible
and making sure that you guys aren't subject
to a huge loss during, you know,
a bear market and what have you.
For Cone, we want to make sure that everybody's profit,
we want to make sure you guys profit during,
you know, whether it's a bear or bull,
we want to be independent of that.
But yeah, but basically all pods are scarce as a product.
We only have a limited few per each one
and we have to keep,
and we're going to kind of gauge it through there,
but also kind of brings in that scarce factor in there
that the only way that you can achieve and get a pod
is by either getting in the pre-sale or public sale
or, you know, buying off the secondary market, right?
So that's the only way you can get a pod
is kind of like, how do you get a Cone note?
Only way you could have gone in
is if you bought it before the cap
or if you buy it in the marketplace.
You know, but at the same time,
we also want to incentivize and reward investors
that are actually interested in the success of Cone.
So even that we withered our hives
and what a withered hive is,
it means that once that you received your ROT,
so return on token off your hive.
So basically, you know, we have a 330% APR
and essentially from that 330% APR,
if you spend nine Cone tokens to get that hive,
you're essentially going to get that full APR back.
So we want you to get your full,
like essentially your refund back,
essentially to an extent, like your return.
And after that moment, you're going to have a hive
that will continuously provide you, you know,
constant emissions, but emissions lowered to 86%.
However, what we want to do is like, you know what?
We want to lower it once you migrate it too.
So then what we did is we said that
if you basically invest your Cone tokens
to ZCone from your notes,
which, you know, is actually the best case scenario
anyways for you as an investor,
we basically bumped that APR by 2.5X.
So 2.5X times 86, so you're looking at like a 260,
like 200 or whatever percent APR from your notes.
And these are constant emissions of Cone.
You know, so like, that's why I would say
withered hives are still very beneficial to have
because you can turn a withered hive
into a normal hive, right?
All you got to do is invest into the ZCone.
And like the whole aspect behind it is just, you know,
we want to basically try to make Cone as attractive
and also incentivize people as much as possible.
And personally, on our behalf too,
we wanted also to uphold to our word as, you know,
because we have a fiduciary duty, you know,
like we want to uphold to our word
that if we sold you a product the day before
that you at least can have,
we're able to deliver the next day or the next week
or whatever it is on whatever we said that we will, right?
So we're trying to be as fair as possible
at the same time also keep in mind the future of Cone
and, you know, how can we succeed as a protocol?
But we also do have a professional product coming soon
that's after pods called Capsules.
And that's gonna be a cool product.
So that's a big alpha.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, I haven't heard it.
I don't think I've heard of this one.
No, no one has.
I was thinking of the name the whole time.
I was like, man, what do I,
cause you know, I like the pods name.
And I was like, you know what?
I want to keep a different name.
Cause you remember like pods are supposed to be scarce.
I don't want to keep releasing.
We're going to keep releasing different types of pods
but we want them to be very attractive,
like, you know, tokens.
What kind of tokens?
I feel like, whoa, what the heck?
That's actually really cool.
At the same time, we also want to have a perpetual product.
That's a product that users can invest into.
That's continuous.
And there's no cap with it.
It's no public.
Cause right now with pods,
the only way you can get in is by, you know,
you have to, we want to kind of have,
you have to have a tag in our discord now
in order to purchase it.
Right.
And the reason we kind of wanted to do that too.
And I was like going back and forth with,
is that I also want, you know,
the people that we give the roles to,
whether it's from giveaways or whatever,
the main idea is that majority of people that get that tag
are essentially, you know, investors that are,
I want to say dedicated within our server,
but more so investors that kind of understand
the protocol itself.
And, you know, quick, that's,
I made a tweet today saying,
discord is going to be your best friend.
So we went ahead as a team and did,
is that we're essentially giving out the role to everybody
that, you know, basically,
I think it's like the top,
like the top 25 or 50 or whatever it is.
To everybody that completes a quiz in our discord today.
And the quiz is very simple,
but it's basically the basic mechanics.
It just goes over pods.
And what we want to do is kind of deliver something
where it's kind of like,
you really want to strive for education with income.
And that's why I love always coming on,
like, you know, specifically your,
your channel is just educating your audience
and we want to strive and something,
we might have to force it for some of you investors,
but it's to say it's basically to make sure
that you guys feel safe and secure during times of,
you know, uncertainty like now, right?
Like right now,
the best you resource that anybody can use
is on your investment is basically,
you know, knowledge, right?
This knowledge is how you can truly get out of a bear market
and feel comfortable, you know,
whether it's a bear bull market,
you should be happy to bear market.
You know, that's like bear market.
This is everything's on a discount, right?
If you value invest, you know,
fall like Warren Buffett, any strategies like this,
like investors, like long-term investors,
this is what they hope for, you know?
So it's very unfortunate that, you know,
but there are other like, you know,
black swan events that just happened in the past,
like week and a half that just like, you know,
what the heck, but yeah, so it's,
I don't know, I went on a slight little tangent there.
Yeah, no, no, that's good, it's good.
I always like hearing from you.
Yeah, and I like bear markets because,
you know, it's been,
I've been curious to see what projects
are going to make it through a bear market, you know?
And so you, the bear markets,
when you're going to be able to see,
hey, what is actually going to be around long-term
and what was just a short-term,
and then it's gone, you know?
And I don't want to get into Luna too much,
but like we found out, oh, UST, you know,
isn't going to make it.
And so I, in that way, I like the bear market,
but I do miss everything being up.
Those are the good old days.
So as for the launch tomorrow,
so you're launching these AVAX pods.
How many are going to be available tomorrow?
The last pod release sold out very quickly.
Will there be more than 1,500 this time is the question.
So Joshua, it's, we're actually having 700 AVAX pods
that will be available.
There is no, like, you know,
right now you see the max of 15 per wallet on the side.
We're bumping that max to 20.
So everybody that maxed out last time,
you have an extra for the set of five.
But yeah, there's going to be 700
and we're going to have, like I said,
pods are going to be scarce.
There's only a limited amount each time.
At the same time, the reason we have to do this
is you have to think about the mechanics
of how a pod is created.
And when there's this constant sell pressure,
because if you look at the contracted pods,
which is why we kind of changed the ratio,
is in the previous launch,
six of the tokens got basically locked in Zcom,
but four of those tokens basically got sold off.
So people were kind of seeing this four,
constant four coming and being sold.
So that, a lot of this is as well to kind of help,
you know, like keep a buffer for that.
And we also kind of created something on the backend,
kind of help with that as well to make sure you guys,
you know, the price is, you know,
not just skyrocketing and kind of going down and like up,
like, you know, we want to make it look like, you know,
like a, I don't know, a cosine graph, right?
Like we want to basically,
that's as much math you're getting at from me.
No, I'm kidding.
But like, but no, but seriously,
like we want to make sure that it's a constant,
like kind of going up.
We want to really make sure that the Combs price appreciates
which is why we're actually rolling out
with the perpetual product capsules, right?
That name might change, it might change,
but the whole idea behind capsules
is that there's gonna be a constant product
that you can invest into.
That's sort of like a pod,
but it's, think of it as a Z Combs pod, right?
That's the best way, I guess,
to kind of give you guys like an example
is that if you don't want to basically, you know,
deal with Z Combs and want to have something simple,
but it is Z Combs,
that's what kind of capsules are at the same time.
It's an FN, it's an NFT.
So that means that you're able to sell it,
transfer it and buy it or whatever.
So it's essentially saying that, you know,
you're locked Z Combs and you have,
that you can at least, you know,
you can at least transfer it
or do whatever you need to do with it.
So it's not like, you know,
not necessarily locked, right?
It's up to you whether you want it or not.
But the best, I think the coolest new feature that,
there's two few new features that I really like
as far as what we added for Pod Series 2.
The first one is compounding.
So we added a compound feature in there
that every time, now every time a user claims rewards,
has the ability to compound the rewards
to essentially, so like, you know,
if you have a Bitcoin pod and you get rewarded in Bitcoin,
now you have the ability to compound that.
So essentially what will happen
is when you click that compound button,
that Bitcoin would sell and buy comb
and it will invest that, lock that comb
and put it in the Z Comb
and then basically it would get added onto your asset, right?
So I know there's a lot that just kind of happened in there
in a few, in like a, in one or two sentences,
but all you need to know is every user now has the ability
that every time a user, this is with any user,
every time a user can claim,
there's a potential for a direct buy pressure comb
from every user, from every pod owner, right?
So it's like, it's insane.
Like once everybody kind of starts utilizing the system
to its maximum ability,
we're gonna constantly kind of see
these little small things that might seem trivial to some,
but they're gonna really, really, really be impactful
in the grand scheme of things.
Because think about every time you claimed
your rewards from a node.
And if every time you claim that,
you have the ability to actually have direct buy pressure
for that protocol.
And it serves in your best interest
because the main factor of a pod
that we wanna keep striving for
is the net worth of the pod, right?
So that your net worth is increasing
also because you're adding an asset,
but at the same time, the price action of comb
is increasing from the buy pressure.
From you selling your rewards from Bitcoin to buy comb,
and then you're basically investing at the Z Comb.
It becomes like a really, really cool,
I guess like kind of feedback loop.
And then the last feature as well
that we added was the freedom feature.
So that if your pod's health does go to zero,
everything from your LP assets, right?
Because if you do mechanics, 2.5 goes into the farms,
as well as your Z Comb.
If you continuously feed your comb, it's adding onto that.
It gets all returned back to you as a user at the end.
So if you don't want to have a pod anymore
and you don't wanna even sell it,
you just let the health bar go to zero
and you have the ability to actually let it burst
and release, kind of like a star, right?
If you think about it, yeah, it's the end of the cycle.
And then basically you get all of those comb tokens
right back to you.
And yeah, we wanna basically provide as much,
I would say, freedom as possible, like the name states.
Okay.
Will the, I think this,
will the pod's whitelist be guaranteed a pod
or is it still first come, first serve?
It's first come, first serve, unfortunately.
You know, it's, yeah, it's just first come, first serve.
We have 700.
I know we're giving away one for Spirit Swamp, so 699.
And then besides that, you know, if you,
it's only from joining in.
However, like I said,
we're gonna have a Discord event tonight
and possibly tomorrow as well,
where you guys itself will have the ability
to get that, get on the list.
There's right now, I think like 70 people.
So there's not too many people on there
and we're gonna keep it kind of scarce.
Remember, like we don't want to basically,
like we wanna give everybody tags and roles,
but we wanna make sure that people
are at least understanding the product
and they're not just aping into it.
And then they're basically,
then like a week later if a price action come
or whatever happens and they're gonna be like,
what the heck, Sam and Phil, I want my money back.
I don't know.
Like something, and you can, right?
Like you will get it back.
But it's like, the thing is,
is that like we just wanna prevent as much uncertainty
and we wanna just, we wanna really promote education
and like value investing as much as possible.
So yeah, I know it's a little different approach
from like whitelists and all that stuff,
but we kind of wanna be a little bit more,
wanna be different.
You know, we wanna be unique.
You guys are definitely different.
I'll give you that.
I've been getting that my whole life, you know?
Okay.
Will more of the other pods ever be released
or only pods of different tokens?
Yeah, so no.
So essentially Phantom, Ethereum, Bitcoin.
So this is where you can kind of start seeing
the scarcity value of each pod kind of rising up, right?
We wanna make, like basically Phantom, Ethereum, Bitcoin,
the only way you're ever gonna get those pods
is by if someone transfers your wallet,
you're a good guy and then,
or you buy it off the secondary market, right?
So the only pods that we're gonna,
the types of pods we're gonna release
are just gonna be different types, different tokens,
like you said in the second basic sentence.
However, they're gonna be attractive.
And the same time, if you can't get yourself on a pod,
we're gonna release capsules, right?
And there's no limit on those.
But we're just making sure
the mechanics behind capsules
are gonna be basically the most efficient manner.
That's why we kind of delayed the launch of like AVEX pods
is because we really want to focus
and make sure that we had all the features there,
like the compound feature.
We really wanna make sure these small things,
these additions are kind of like, you know,
the final touches for like, you know, for the time period.
Okay, and then do you have to be on the VI pods list
to be able to buy an AVEX pod?
Yes, yeah, you do.
But you have the ability to get on that.
So it's not like you don't have the ability
or you have to win it by luck.
It's actually, you know, like I said,
we're gonna roll out with a quiz
and you have to hit the specific metrics.
I have to speak back with the team.
I don't know if we're giving it to everybody that passes,
like, you know, it's a passing score,
but, you know, we're gonna make sure that, you know,
you guys all have the ability to get on the list
as long as you know about the product.
You know, if you know the product,
then you should be able to get on the list.
Okay, now here's a good question.
So for someone who has Ethereum, okay,
so this might be quite a journey
towards getting a pods from Ethereum.
Do you wanna talk about best way to bridge over?
And you guys are the phantom experts, right?
So what's the best way if you have Ethereum to get a pod?
We have it, don't we?
So right now we actually have a, like, cross-chain swap
that utilizes Rubik, and so if you go onto our website
and on the home page, there is a tab
right next to Hives and Pods that says Exchange,
and so once you click on that, you can swap.
James is like, what's going on?
No way.
I just, I know I should not be trying this live.
Oh, okay, there we go.
Yeah, so there's, like, you could go
from your Ethereum chain, your AVAX chain,
your Binance chain, and you could swap that into code.
So it's pretty fancy, isn't it?
Wow, did you plant Swaggy D for that?
I did, I did, we did, you know?
That's, like, perfect.
So yeah, there you go, Swaggy D.
Pretty easy.
Easier than I thought it was.
And then if you want, actually, we went up that as well.
So if you go back on our platform
and go on the farmer's page,
or the coolest, coolest page, my bad,
and you click, let's just say, Boo Phantom,
you see a little, actually, you have to approve.
So go up a little bit more,
just because you have to approve that one.
Let's see if you have the Cone Phantom one.
Click that one really quickly.
I don't, on this wallet, I don't think I have anything.
Or perhaps click Zap here.
I don't know if you have to approve before you zap,
but you see there, then you can click Phantom
and then go there.
So even if you have it,
we try and make it as simple as possible for everybody.
And this is how you can zap into our pools at the same time.
So there's gonna be a lot of cool features
that we have here.
Like I said, it's the small things that count, man.
It's the small things that count.
And yeah, we're trying to make it as,
we're trying to make the platform as accessible
and just streamlined as possible for everybody,
to be honest.
Very cool.
Yeah, that's very cool.
Does anybody else have any other questions
that they'd like to ask about the launch?
I mean, I'd like to know more about the capsules,
but maybe that'll be-
It's own, and then you're gonna,
I know you're gonna want to know
about the James Pelton Compounder pool.
Yeah, what is that gonna be?
We all want to know about that one, you know?
I'm kidding.
Does it have a high APR,
or is it gonna be like a negative APR or something?
I guess there's only one way to find out, right?
But I'll tell you this, it's dependent on what you want.
That's where, it's gonna be fun.
It's gonna be, think about the best type of pro,
like the best thing you like.
Whatever you, I don't know.
Whatever you like specifically,
it's gonna be tailored specifically for you, but yeah.
Okay, very cool.
So if you have, do you need Ethereum for your exchange?
Do you need the, you'll need the Ethereum gas, right,
in order to do that bridge through the exchange on COME?
Is that correct?
Yes, yes, you do.
So if you do have cross-chain,
depending on where you're sending from,
it requires that gas fee.
So if you are going from Ethereum to Phantom,
yeah, it'll work with Ethereum gas,
but it's pretty minor, I'd say.
Not, I guess, from Ethereum,
but it's like as if you were swapping
from any centralized exchange.
Yeah, actually, Ethereum gas
has been pretty cheap here recently,
so I bet you it'll be like 15 bucks, maybe, in gas fees.
Does anybody else have any other questions?
I mean, we have, Mattias would like to know
what kind of symbols are on Sam's blanket.
It looks like to me-
That's why I blurred it.
That's why I always gotta blur this, man.
I gotta blur this, so I'm a child at heart, you know?
This guy knows it's not symbols.
He Zoomed in, he saw like animals and fishes
and like, you know, at the end of the day,
I think we all can admit that dinosaur gummy,
gummy multivitamins are just better
than normal multivitamin pills, right?
But yeah, it's, you know, the ones that I put there,
I think it just adds, it's a conversation starter,
you know, when someone walks into the river,
you're like, hey, what's up with the fishes?
You're like, I don't know, you know?
It's a good conversation starter.
I'm sure it's good with the ladies.
I wish I could tell you, okay?
You know, I got that.
Yeah, you don't, there's no time for ladies
with all the homework going on.
No, seriously.
That's true.
Ian says, is this Crypto 2.0 docks your bed covers?
There you go, so Sam is the most docked person
on my channel that I've ever had,
even though the bed covers.
So if you rug pull, I will tell people what bed covers.
Yeah, listen, I don't think you ever have to worry
about someone who has dinosaur sheets
or fish bed covers to rug pull you.
It's true.
That's the last person, right?
Very true, very, very true.
Let's see, we got one more question here.
How many beats have we accumulated so far
from the recent proposal?
We haven't enacted it yet,
but we are planning to enact it this Wednesday.
Just for the Spirit of Missions, that's all.
But yeah, nice to see that you're updated.
Yes, and if you guys do have more questions
or specific questions, if you're having trouble
getting your Ethereum or your die from Ethereum over,
hop in the Discord and somebody will help you
submit a ticket and they would love,
I mean, they would love to help you
kind of walk through that step-by-step
and work through your specific situation.
Any other questions that we got here?
Is there anything else that you guys
would like to talk about?
Anything you'd like to make known
about the launch tomorrow or anything like that?
To be honest, on my end, I was just more so,
I don't know, Phil, do you have anything specific?
Just attend to our stuff, I guess, today
and as well as tomorrow.
Really, it's not difficult to get yourself on the list
and just be here, just interact just a little bit
and as soon as you get the VI pods,
you'll be able to purchase one.
So, yeah, really looking forward to everybody
to hop into our Discord and interact with us as well.
Cool, can I ask one more question?
Actually, somebody says I'm ignoring them.
EnVyUs, I do not see a question from you.
But I have a question for you guys.
EnVyUs, ask your question again
and I really honestly do not see it.
I don't ignore people.
Do you feel like Phantom is holding you guys back?
I mean, have you considered,
I know you kind of started out as,
hey, we want to conquer Phantom, that's our chain.
Have you guys thought about abandoning ship
and going somewhere else?
I think it's been hard for anything on Phantom.
It's really hard to break above the chain itself
and I just wanted to know
if you guys have any thoughts on that.
Yeah, I think, although it's been rough,
I think it's only the beginning for Phantom as well.
We stick to our word, James.
Phantom still remains to be like
one of the largest TVL chains on the network.
So it's definitely up there,
just relative like its inflation is a lot stronger
than the price at the moment.
But yeah, I still think that Phantom
is a great place to build in,
especially because we have interacted
with a bunch of different protocols.
And so knowing everybody on the network so far,
it's been a pleasure to actually interact with everybody
and kind of just learn from each other
and really cooperate.
And so in the sense,
I feel like other chains aren't really as collaborative,
as tight knit as the Phantom community.
And yeah, I think with the recent events,
yes, it led to a bunch of different things to the price,
but as soon as we start to recover
and start to gain traction,
at least to new retail investors outside this fair market,
I think it's gonna be really explosive.
That's all I gotta say.
And to just add on to what Phil was mentioning
is that the bigger the conflict,
the bigger the triumph,
you know, a classic phrase.
And I know it's looking sort of like
it's going down and it's upsetting,
but these are the times
where opportunities really showcase itself.
We as a protocol have actually advanced
so much within this chain
that we're actually in talks with the foundation,
we're talking with bigger protocols within this,
within the ecosystem.
So the opportunities for itself
are actually greater than ever for Cone, long-term.
Same time, the way I always like to,
I guess, view blockchains and layers
are think about, you know, the chain itself as, you know,
what was I gonna say?
I was gonna say real estate or building, right?
So think about it as like a real estate or building.
And then basically think of that building as, you know,
yeah, think of it as a building.
And then think about all the rooms in that building.
Are they filled?
Are they occupied or what have you?
Phantom has a ton of protocols within itself
that are constantly building
and it's constantly filled and trying to rise up.
And as, you know, time is going on,
we're slowly starting to rise up within this building.
And it's hopefully starting to come to top, right?
Like we said it from, you know,
four months ago, three months ago,
we were like, you know,
when we were like, you know, small fishes, right?
In the pond, we're like, you know,
we're gonna conquer this, you know,
we're gonna conquer this chain.
And right now, I don't wanna say conquer.
I feel like it's a weird, you know,
adjective to use, but a verb.
But like, we're essentially just, we're rising up.
And I think honestly, like Phil was mentioning,
there's so much, there's still so much opportunity
in this space.
And the people and the investors inside of Phantom itself
are, you know, bullish and ever,
even during this market right now, you know,
there's still this, there's still that, like, you know,
that community bond.
And I honestly think that's the strongest aspect,
not just DeFi, but with chains itself,
is that the community, right?
How many of those rooms are filled, right?
And if they're all filled
and people are still investing within the chain,
I think this chain is more powerful than ever.
Price action, you know, there's gonna be a moment in time
where, you know, stuff like that's gonna be trivial.
But yeah.
Is it fair to say, so you know,
I kind of have, like, two types of projects.
Like, I have my, you know, I have my journey
to 10K a day in passive income, right?
Yeah.
And so I'm looking for, like, these really high returns
to, you know, get that number up.
But then what I'm finding is I also have this, like,
second group of projects that are not providing
a ton of passive income.
Like, you know, it's not gonna get that to $10,000 a day.
But if I look ahead in three or four years,
those are the ones that are gonna be getting me,
like, this actual wealth building.
Yeah.
And so that's actually the reason why we,
I would say with Paws that we,
like, where I'm trying to strive and kind of,
I don't wanna say flip the script on that aspect.
Well, that one's more like a personal principle
if you have a goal where it's like, you know,
I wanna hit 10K a day, which is really, you know,
badass to be honest, it's awesome, right?
But it's more so asking, like,
a lot of people, I think, are forgetting about capital gains
as a means of, like, income, right?
Like, when you're investing in a stock, you know,
getting dividends is kind of like the icing on the cake.
The cake is the capital gains from the stock.
Which is exactly, like, what we tried,
like, where I was trying to strive forth with Paws
is, like, you know, the capital gains from Paws
is a scarce factor, right?
You know, that's the whole initiative behind comb is gold
because there's gonna be a moment where comb is gold.
There's not gonna be comb out there
and the price action of comb is, you know,
whatever it is, right?
Like, X percentage above.
So there's gonna be moments where, like,
it's, when I say it's inevitable,
like, it will happen over time.
So it's a matter of, like, you know,
well, you know, I don't wanna put myself in a corner.
Yeah, I'm just a guy with fish covers, right?
But essentially, yeah, like,
I want, like, investors to start focusing on,
like, you know, the capital gains,
the intrinsic association when they invest in a protocol.
And that's where the true value would showcase,
where, you know, the price action,
you know, the passive income,
how much you're receiving a day doesn't really matter.
You're viewing it more so the future, like,
hey, what is this project, this project building?
You know, what are they doing six months from now?
Have they delivered on what they said
they were gonna deliver, right?
There's certainly, like, things you can kind of test.
And that's why I'm saying, like,
that's the, I think the beauty of investing
within these chains right now is that it's so young,
but it's really fruitful, right?
Like, there's a lot of opportunities out here,
not just with Calm,
but with a ton of other protocols out there
that are truly here to stay.
And it's like kind of investing in a stock
or investing in a company that has an IPO, right?
Like, you're basically on the immediate
and you can just sit there
and you don't have to, you can go do whatever you want.
Like, that's what we want from day one is like,
hey, like, we don't want you to be checking
the price action or checking, like,
how much I made today or how much whatever it is,
because that can be very stressful.
And we don't want to put someone in that situation
where they're constantly checking in five minutes.
What is, hey, what's this price of this?
Like, you know, because that's so much volatility, right?
We want to make sure that, you know,
not just sustaining,
but we also want to actually have like,
you know, a price increase, right?
Like, we want it to be kind of a price appreciation graph,
I would say, but yeah.
Yeah, no, I think that's fair.
I think we have kind of,
we got used to just like these rewards,
and we got out of just, I mean.
It's the way it was delivered.
If you think about nodes, how they're delivered to you,
it was delivered as a liability.
It was some cost.
The moment you bought a node,
you can't get your money back, right?
The way that was delivered to you,
you're forced to kind of think like that,
like subconsciously, right?
You're like, I need to get as much money
or get my ROI back in compound
or whatever it is that you do.
And it's like you're,
it's because that's the way it was delivered to you.
So that's why we transitioned it all to NFTs,
is that it shouldn't be like that.
It should be an asset.
That's why I'm saying digital real estate.
It's an asset because real estate is an asset, right?
So you're viewing it as an asset itself.
It's like, hey, no, you can transfer,
you can sell this, you can buy it.
This asset has value, right?
But with nodes,
people didn't really associate with the value
when there was a market value, right?
There was X tokens per node.
But the moment you bought it,
you're like, you know what?
My money's gone.
I need to get my, you know, that's,
and I think that was just a poor delivery, to be honest.
And like we all did it, right?
Like we all have to take fault for that, right?
Because that's what kind of, I would say,
forced people into like trying to,
it's what forced protocols and just people in this general
to start being like, let me provide the highest daily ROI
or like, you know, like return or APR.
Just insane APRs that's obviously not sustainable.
You know, and you know, that's where like, you know,
I think it was more of a fault on our end.
And yeah, so now we kind of want to take action
and kind of change that script,
that narrative at the same time.
Yeah, totally.
And I think that how we started in,
these nodes kind of all started in during the bull market.
Yeah.
Where it was literally anybody could make money.
I mean, any project that came out,
there was new buyers all the time.
Yeah, yeah.
And so we've, well, like Ring,
we saw them come out with like crazy APR and it was working.
It was like, oh, I guess this works for a while.
Yeah, because you saw it,
you got the glimpse of heaven for like a week or so.
You're like a few days, you're like,
dang, I made that much money from this.
And then you see another protocol
that's coming on a different chain.
And you're like, oh my God, you know,
this is going to be the ring of like, you know,
FAM or the ring of whatever, right?
And yeah, it was during that era.
Like it was the whole era with like, you know,
the samurai, the katana, you know, that one was,
you know, that was, it was, I remember that was,
it was insane.
It was insane.
Yeah, totally.
So yeah, that's how I'm looking at comb
as a long-term thing where it's not,
it's not going to be in the top 10 on my,
you know, daily passive income probably,
but it might be the only one that's on my list in three
years, the only one that's still there.
So that's kind of how I'm looking at it.
And I'm thinking about how I could reframe that journey
to 10 K a day and passive income in a,
in a better way because I hold a bunch of like Bitcoin's
a perfect example.
I hold a bunch of Bitcoin and it doesn't make me any passive
income, but like,
I still consider it more valuable than most of the node
projects I have that are providing some passive income.
So it's just, yeah.
You got to give me time.
It's just time too, right?
Like we're still so young, right?
And I think like a lot of advancements and people kind of,
kind of forget is that we're all so, so young.
There's so much more advancements,
not just within our protocol, but you know,
it's going to get much more,
it's going to get better from here,
from as far as like the protocol side goes and what we're
accomplishing and like the products that we're delivering,
it will come with time.
So that, that value association,
I don't want to even be you thinking out as it,
we're going to, we're going to show it to you, right?
We'll, we'll show you the value of comb and not just you,
you know, the investors and everybody out there,
like people will start noticing, but yeah,
like, but the 10K pass today, like, honestly,
that's, we all want that.
Everybody wants that.
That's like, that's like, you know, that's like, yeah,
that's insane.
Well, it's going in the wrong direction right now.
Each, each episode it's back a little bit further as more of
the node projects kind of fail, I'm going backwards.
So I'm, I'm trying to go forward in that.
So we'll, we'll see how it goes.
Yeah.
The video title is going to change and it's going to be from
like from, from like from 10K daily to like 5 million or
something like, I don't know, 10, whatever it is.
Right.
From there.
But yeah.
Awesome.
Well, Hey guys, I think I'll let you go.
I guess my last question as we go here,
Phil, what kind of bedsheets do you have?
Oh, I, they're just normal.
So these are normal Phil, like what's up with that?
Red checkered pattern.
That's, that's an engineer, right?
Engineers were pragmatic.
We don't go for patterns.
It's not pragmatic, Sam.
You don't go for fishes, you know?
That's right.
Awesome.
Well, Hey guys, I appreciate you going on here.
It's always a lot of fun and I look forward to keep seeing
what you built.
One thing I'll say about comb is you guys are always,
always building.
And that's what I like to see is you're always coming out
with new things.
You don't just give up and you don't just go onto a new
project and say, ah, that, yeah,
that one was a learning experience,
but you're always coming out with new things.
And I think from my perspective,
you're always a couple steps ahead of the other, you know,
peer projects, maybe we'll call them.
You're a couple steps ahead.
And so keep up the good work.
Thank you.
Thank you so much, man.
And audience appreciate you guys as well.
Thank you for watching.
Please hit the like button on your way out.
This will be available to watch the replay.
So if you miss something from the beginning,
we're not going to rehash everything,
but Avax pods launching tomorrow, hop in their discord.
I like how I said,
we're not going to rehash everything that I did.
That's typical, typical me, but you can watch the replay.
But yeah, thank you everybody.
Appreciate everybody and have a good rest of your day.
Thank you.
All right.
Take care guys.
