A pregnant woman documents her journey of organizing her wardrobe and curating a maternity-friendly collection. She focuses on decluttering her current clothes, implementing storage solutions, and selecting versatile \"hybrid\" pieces that work both during and after pregnancy, while reviewing a specific haul from the brand Dish.
Hello, good morning and welcome back to my channel. Welcome back to a new video and to my wardrobe
room. I'm actually pre-filming this. Well, at least the start of this video because it's something
I've been wanting to get done for a while. I've been eager to get started. So I thought, you know
what, rather than wait, let me just get started. And the reason why I say wait and everything like
that is if you are new to my channel or haven't already seen, I have recently announced that I am
pregnant and I'm just navigating trying to work out what on earth to wear, honestly. Summer
dressing with somewhat of a bump, early bump, first trimester into early second trimester bump.
Summer dressing, I feel like it's going to be easy because light dresses, floaty, comfortable,
easy peasy, lemon squeezy. However, it's those cooler days, which the day that I'm filming this
today, it's a little bit cooler. So I've just got a lounge tracksuit on. This is my favorite
tracksuit I've ever owned. In fact, my favorite clothing items I've ever owned. Not cheap,
American vintage, worth the investment. This is the Atterbay set, I think, in navy. I've also got
it in gray because I like it so much. And these are definitely something that can grow with me
because yeah, they're comfy. So I'm currently at the time of filming this video around 15 weeks.
I'm also thinking if I film early enough, then I've no excuse because I've got plenty of time.
I'm filming this video about two weeks before it goes live, or at least again, starting this video
about two weeks before it goes live. I might film it over several days,
just as and when I have a wardrobe sort through of section by section, however I do it,
I will pick up the camera and document it because I love watching an organizational type video like
this. But yeah, not only that, it will also allow me to have enough time to get some bits uploaded
to my vintage, which I think my vintage, I've not got my phone on me, it's downstairs, I'll need to
grab it. But I think it's just if you search Freya Farrington, or one word Freya Farrington
intervinted, you'll find me or if not Freya Farrington one, one of the two. If I can link it,
I'll link it down below. But regardless, I will, I will, by the time this video goes live,
have some things ready to go live on my vintage. I will try. I will, I will, I'll have plenty of
time. So, because I definitely have some bits that I want to sell, I'm going to also go grab
some tubs from down in the basement, some storage tubs of things that I know I can pop away that
don't fit me now, but may fit me in the future, which I rarely do that kind of attitude when I
have a clear out because I'm the sort of person that I'm like, look, if I've not worn it, if it
doesn't fit me, get rid, sell or donate. However, in this instance, because I am pregnant and
because my body will be changing, I'm, I hopefully will have a pretty ruthless clear out because
there are clothes in here that I know I want and I want to keep, I know won't fit me with a growing
body. Um, so at least pregnancy postpartum and everything like that, it's not going to fit me
for like a year or so. So it can easily go in storage. And then likewise, there will definitely
be clothes in here that I will think I'm never going to wear that again. Let's be honest. So
hopefully we will have some good vintage, uh, sale finds for you all. There's also a couple of things
that I may have bought that don't fit quite right, or don't feel quite comfortable in even
now. And yeah, that's what vintage is for. So, um, so sit back, relax, grab a cuppa and
join me on my journey that will be filmed over several days of having wardrobe,
organisational clear outs, sort outs, vintage listings, and we can do this together.
First things first, hair up off my face and I'm actually thinking of doing
quite a bit of triangle, not triangle, sorry, try on, um, so that I can see exactly what I feel
like will fit and won't fit. So I don't know how much I'll be able to film given that I can't feel
myself stripping off every two seconds. Let's get cracking. Which wardrobe do we start in? Maybe,
maybe this one, because I feel like trousers, this one just needs a big organized. What I'll
do is I'll just get out the dark. I'll just get out each section at a time. So we'll start with
trousers, which isn't looking too full. And I say trousers, but this bottom row is always trousers,
but also leads into vests. I do have quite a bit of washing that I need to do as well. So
maybe there's some bits in the, uh, washing pile that aren't in here, but yeah, it's looking pretty
low anyway. So anyway, anyway, anyway, anyway, there's definitely some bits in here that I feel
like I'm going to sell this, maybe this wreath dress, this needle and thread dress. Um, so I
think I'll actually have quite a bit to put on vintage. This is kind of started off as a bit of
a vintage section, which also has led into a section that I need to sort through and put away.
So that needs to be clear out. Same with like, I've added some extra clothes here that need to
be put away properly, but I thought let's clear out, let's get some hangers free and then be able
to, uh, start organizing everything. Linted bags at the ready. Plenty of these, so I don't need to
buy any more of those just yet. Um, I just get these off Amazon. All right, I'm going to unload
everything, put spare hangers to one side. I'm not sure if these will still be online, but these
are some of the nicest shorts, like satin shorts I found and they're only pretty little thing.
They've got the beautiful, like thick lace bottom, gorgeous colour. Um, I did get these, I sized up
to a 14 in these, but where the drawstring is fake, you can't cinch in. So although these
just about fit, I mean they do just fit kind of like under the bump, I actually don't think I'm
going to wear these until afterwards. So I am going to pop these in the tub for a keep, but
Fast realizing this is becoming a very humbling experience doing a try on like this. Oh my
goodness, these were a size 10, these trousers, and they are not budging to the point where honestly
I don't know, um, I don't, I don't know if I'll feel comfortable getting back in these ever again,
maybe one day, but in a very, very long time. They're a size 10 and I'm like, I'm in between
a 10 and a 12 anyway, so pre-pregnancy these probably would have been quite tight,
and they're also quite tight on my thighs as well. So I don't know if I'm going to sell these,
because these are just from Asda, I only find that like vintage things sell if they're like a,
like a Zara or something like that, or a bit more of a branded name, but
yeah, it's a shame because I did like them, but they are just, they just don't look right,
they don't fit, and let's keep going. Right, another pair of trousers that are going in the
keep in future pile, because these are a size 12, so these will hopefully fit me in future,
um, and I could wear them like below bump, but I just, they're already a bit snug against,
against that area and it's a bit uncomfortable, and then again like they just about fit over
the biggest part of me, but then I don't think they look very flattering, and again my thighs
and bum and everything is just pulling, I feel like, in all the wrong areas. So I do love these,
and these are going to go in the keep bucket, the tub that we've got going. I've got a couple of
things in the donation, and a few, I've actually got a few satin skirts, some of which I've never
even worn, so if you like a satin skirt, we've got Mango, Zara, F&F, so yeah, those will probably,
probably be going on my vintage, but I'm tired already. This is why I said this is gonna,
I'm gonna film this over a while, I think, um, but I have to admit this is the first video that
I've actually filmed. I know you'll have seen videos since announcing, but this is the first
I've filmed, um, where I've not, because I'm kind of pre-filming it, where I've not like had to
breathe in or worry about angles, I'm just letting bump bump, um, which has been quite
nice to be honest, um, because yeah, like I said, real time me right now hasn't even announced to
you guys yet, um, but it'll feel like, it already feels like filming this a relief, um, to just be
like, oh, and breathe out. Uh, right, let's crack on. I can't believe this. You remember this section,
how it looked before down here? Look at it now. I mean, I haven't done the vest tops yet,
and this section, I'm going to actually empty this out while still doing this section, because
as you can see, there are some like Hilara jeans and things in here that need going away, so I'm
going to try these on. Some of them, I remember when I was trying them on, they were just a little
too big, but I thought, you know what, I'm going to keep them anyway, because there might be a day.
That I'll need to pop them over to here, and I think today is the day, so we'll go through that
first, but that is all of my like skirts and trousers. I've got one skirt in there,
a pair of linen trousers, I do have another pair of linen trousers in the wash, and actually I say
linen trousers, these blue ones, they're actually sleepwear, but I like them as trousers with a
little white racer vest or baby tee in summer, even if it's just chilling around the house, but
yeah, I actually wear them not to sleep in, and then a few Hilara jeans, which are all in a medium,
so I do think I might transition and get some largers, because they're really stretchy,
can get away with these ones, wearing them still, and if needs be, the bigger my bump gets, just
using that bobble trick, the hair tie hair bobble trick, where you kind of wrap it around,
like through the loop and around the button, just to allow you that extra space, and then just wear
a longer top to kind of disguise the fact that they're not done up, so I've been getting away
with that, so that's fine, I've got those in there, and like I said, I've got some other
ones in a large over here that might be able to work, so yes, but that already
makes me feel so much better. Also dressing down on now, because I have been doing
lots of try-ons as I've been going, I've got a couple of bits there, I've got some Zara jeans
in my vintage pile, this is my box which is filling up with bits that I do want, but for
after pregnancy and postpartum, so yeah, let's get this emptied. These are all dresses and jumpers,
so I'm actually going to leave those in there for now, and just sort through what I have got out
before moving on to this section fully. I can't believe it, but that bottom row is done,
and there's just so much room, I feel like I definitely need to go shopping, but
feeling so much better that I can see everything, and it's kind of inspired me to just keep it like
this in future, and not just go overboard with shopping for loads of new clothes.
There I go, saying I need more clothes, but I do feel like for pregnancy body, I need more clothes.
Just trying on this dress, and my goodness, the bump is popping in this dress, it does have
straps, but I just quickly shoved it on whilst I was trying on different things, and look at that
bump. I feel like one day I'm going to look back at this and go, oh, bless, I thought I had a big
bump, but it's feeling pretty big. We've also got a growing pile of donations, vintage, and my tub
is filling up, I feel like I might even need a second one to be honest with you, we'll see how
we go with the rest of the things. I actually don't think there'll be anything there that I
end up putting away into storage because of the fit of these kind of things, but same with this
row as well actually. Then again, I thought, I didn't realise I'd get as much as I, sort of like
put away as much as I did with this row, so we'll keep going. This is the only solution because it's
getting warmer, and the amount of stuff I've tried on is, it's like a workout honestly, but I am
pleased to say this first wardrobe is complete. We've got one in the top, oh hold on, someone
shouted me. Yeah? Yeah? Right, where was I? As you can tell our piles are growing as well.
I, yeah, have finished this section, so we've got t-shirts up here, obviously in colour section, loads
of space as well if I needed to create more I can. I kind of, I've kept my long sleeves in because
I've only got a few of them, and although I tend to only wear them in winter, there might be the odd
day where I feel like I want a long sleeve if it is a bit cooler. So anyway, I've left those, and then
all my dresses are hung up here, and then I just have a trench coat which again could go in storage,
but I've just left it out for now. And I think I'll have, once I've done some washing, I'll have some
more dresses, or even these ones actually down here that I haven't hung up at all, they can go
up here as well. Just left this basket, this did have a load of shoes in it, I've cleared some of my
shoes out and otherwise put some in my actual shoe cupboard and just moved these shoe space savers.
I'll leave these linked below, they are such a game changer. Let me show you, just to be able to
save space and have, especially when you've got a shelf like this where the depth is enough to,
it feels silly to have a pair of shoes sat next to each other and then a big gap,
so yeah, much better. And once I have finished the last wardrobe over here, I will pop all of the
spare hangers that I have also probably within this basket, just because the t-shirts are here,
there's always plenty of space, so I just like to be able to grab and grow any spare hangers
in here. I am back in my filming room, I am makeup free, it is actually a new day,
it's been a few days since I last vlogged for this video, so we've made a bit of progress,
I thought I would update you with that. I also had a lovely couple of days with family,
we went to Chatsworth, we went to, we did a beach walk, Lytham, so I did get a few clips and a bit
of footage for that, so I thought I would include that before joining you again with a bit of a
wardrobe update and also I have a dish haul, I put in an order for the sale items, so I thought I
would show you that too.
You're hiding, he's like I'm trying to be brave, that is so cute.
And another, watch Barney though because he will, he will try and chase it.
Oh, is he alright?
Barney, I feel like it's looking a bit dark in here.
Okay wardrobe update then, let's get into it, so this section here is actually still quite full
because a lot of the things are things that fit me, but they're the sort of item that would fit
me because they're shirts, like over shirts, jumpers, so I may at some point as I get bigger
start to like filter through some of these things, who noticed these in our little reveal? I still,
by the time I'm actually filming this, I haven't revealed or announced yet, which is just so
exciting, I can't wait for you guys to find out, but that is like very soon for me, literally in
a couple of days, so you'll be finding out very very shortly, but I've had those there for a very
long while for some kind of announcement, so it's nice to have finally been able to film that and
get some photos and stuff and yeah, well you guys already know by now, but anyway yeah, same with
up here with jackets and things, they will obviously still fit, so there's a bit of space as
you can tell, it's not crammed in there, but that's already looking better, that's my shoe wardrobe,
this section here where I had a load of clothes at the bottom, they are now,
they've been filtered through now, that's just a couple of bags, accessories, a couple of jumpers
and cardigans, which again all fit, but yeah loads of space for some more knitwear, but obviously
for me it's still not quite knitwear season I don't feel, so that's kind of still to come,
so I'm okay that there's a bit of space here, there's a couple of other things up here that I
feel like I need to have a bit of an organiser to sort through, but it's nothing really like
body related, in fact I could actually sort through my leggings, I've got quite the collection as you
can tell, I've got some some like maternity bits in here, but I'm going to pop in an order with
Hlara and get some of their maternity leggings and maybe pop the others in storage, because I
will be wearing leggings probably quite a lot throughout autumn and winter, and then last but
not least, this wardrobe section having completely finished, like you say, as you can tell there's
just loads of space, so again maybe even might order a couple of Hlara jeans, like low rise ones,
might try those out, and vest tops, everything like that, there's just, it's looking very bare,
and then up here this is pretty full, because it's again t-shirts that all still fit,
dresses, floaty dresses, so again all fit, a long coat, so yeah that is pretty full, but
there is still again a bit of space, a bit of movement there, and all of my spare hangers,
look how many I managed to gain from doing a wardrobe clear out, it feels so good to finally
have a bit of space, and I have already bagged up about four charity shop bags and dropped those off,
I have a tub here with a container full of clothes that can go into storage, so I might,
well, hello, oh big stretch, you keeping me company, why is it so dark, well that's probably
why it's so dark, I've got all the shutters, the blinds shut because it's a warm day today,
isn't it, anyway, yeah I'm gonna go get another tub for this to be able to get a secondary one,
because obviously that's overflowing, and also I might add some leggings to that section as well,
like I just said, but this right here is a big box full of dish items, oh and then they're the
items that are for vintage, this guys is brilliant, I don't know if I've shown you in a vlog, it was
sent to me in PR, and it's just so nice, it's got like a real nice shimmer to it, anyway, let me sit
down and show you some of these dish items, I'm definitely not keeping all of these because they,
dishes like, hold on, let me set you down, this dress by the way, this is, I mean it needs an iron
because what's new with linen, I feel like it always needs an iron, but it's from a brand called
Palome, and it was sent to me a couple of months ago now, well no, maybe like a month ago, and I
thought actually it's got a bit of room for growing body, and also it's nice and floaty and light for
the warm weather, so they also sent me the shirt version in white, this one's more of like a
beigey, stony kind of colour, but anyway yeah, Dish is kind of like a premium brand I would say,
like more expensive than the likes of Zara, not quite designer prices, so it's a nice hybrid,
and they had a cracking sale on, Lydia pointed it out to me and said get on Dish, and I did,
and I got loads, because again I'm still learning to,
how to dress my body, so I've got quite a few things, I have tried these on already,
and then I did like more of a chatty try on reel on Instagram, which may already be live,
so if you did want to check that out, I'm trying to be more active actually on my other socials,
so if you want more content like this, then TikTok and Instagram, that's where you can find
me, so some of these prices, they're sort of, Dish dresses can be like 200 plus, and some of
them were sort of like down to about 40 pounds, so we got some good bargains, I'm not sure what
will still be available by the time this video goes live, but anything that is, I will link
below, but I got this beautiful like kind of cowl neck white linen dress, the tie across my bump
kind of sits like on my biggest part, rather than above the bump, so I'm not sure if I'll keep this,
but it's a beautiful dress, and they have a top version which I did also get, yeah I have a lot
to think about with this order, because like I said I just ordered loads, to be able to try
everything on, and then make a decision on what I'm actually going to keep, and this set is
beautiful, I think I will keep this set, it came in a few colours, and I actually went for a colour
right, rather than like a neutral, I went for the baby blue, so these linen shorts, very comfortable
and floaty, and then kind of like this, a linen boxy shirt, this was quite oversized, I wasn't
sure on sizing again, so I got a bit of a mixture between, pretty much between 12s and 16s,
um this was in a 12, and it's already quite oversized and boxy, so I definitely wouldn't
size up in that necessarily, these I got a 16, and they fit fine, the shorts, this is a very
easy throw-on dress, that I know that, sorry I have a dress version, but this is actually the
co-ord, so this is a top bandeau ties, so can tighten as much as you need, so very
adjustable, um but very good for tanning as well, it's like a shirt poplin material,
like you imagine a shirt would feel, it's that same fabric, and then the shorts to go with it,
matching white shorts, and like I said I did get the dress version of that, is this the dress
version, yes, whereby the top looks exactly the same, but it's a full maxi dress, um with pockets
as well, but again very, very similar, and also they had that in different colours,
uh so we've got that, and then I also got this dress, this was a like a wrap style dress,
which can be quite flattering for a bump, but the seam is quite low, so it doesn't sort of wrap
above the bump, it wraps below, and again all of these things, because they're kind of adjustable,
I feel like they'd work post baby as well, so really nice for um, rather than getting just
maternity options, to be able to have the option to wear these in the future as well,
I feel like now I'm looking at this, I'm just liking everything, but I need to remind myself,
I might even have to do another try on of everything, to decide which ones I want to keep,
it's gonna be a hard decision, this set, okay this, I got this set in this chocolate brown,
as well as a cream, and I love this set, so whether or not I'll keep both, I don't know,
but I got the top in a large, and it's kind of like a vest cropped, uh really nice soft fabric,
with a matching skirt, and the skirt's lovely, because hold on one second, need to sneeze,
right we're back, we're back, yeah the skirt's lovely as an option, I did go for a large in the
brown, and an extra large in the white, I think that's just purely because that's what they had
available, but both fit me, and both have adjustable kind of like side uh things,
so because both fit, that's why I'm leaning more towards maybe keeping the white one,
so that it will fit as I continue to grow, but this can go above bump, or below, so whether or
not you like a bump exposed or not, and like I said because of the fit of it, and the adjustable
thing on the side, it allows you to wear it after pregnancy as well, so yes I did get that set in
both the chocolate brown, and the white, I'd love the white, I really don't know which one to keep,
I feel like it's silly keeping both, because it's kind of more of an occasion wear,
although the white skirt could definitely be a bit more casual, it's quite a thick fabric,
so it's like if it's really really hot, I'm probably not going to reach for this set,
it's got to be a kind of like mild 20 degree day, 22 max, um or else I don't think I would wear it,
and I'm thinking white is beautiful, but if there's an occasion to go to, with it being a
good occasion wear piece, then the chocolate brown is probably the better option, because
often at occasions, say it's like wedding, or christening or whatever, I don't tend to wear the
white to those sort of occasions, so I don't know, I don't know, I'm torn, I've got this knit set as
well, and I love this, I really really love the look of this, the vest is in an extra large,
but I like the fit of it, it's nice and relaxed fit, and again absolutely fine to wear post
pregnancy, as are the shorts, which I got in an extra large as well, and they do fit,
the only thing with the shorts, is I feel like the crotch, if I, especially when I'm wearing
this below bump, the crotch hangs like really loose and low, and they are quite short shorts,
so then to wear them over the bump, I feel like they're really short, so I don't know,
as much as I love these, I just wish there was a little bit of extra length on them,
this is the top version of that dress that I showed you at the start, where I said it's like
a cowl neck, and then the tie and the waist kind of sits, and low back, kind of sits on the bump,
so I've got that also in the white in the top version, more white, this one is, is this the
mini dress, yeah this was actually really pretty, I quite liked this, I like the shape of it,
and again don't often have my legs out and go for a mini option, but it is a really nice fit,
where I would wear this, I don't know, maybe even just like a summer's day to the shops or
something, like out, like not just a day at home, because I feel like it's too nice for that,
but just going out for a meal, a nice lunch with some sandals, make it a bit more casual,
this top I love, this is in a large, it's a bandeau, but it's a knit, so I'm thinking
realistically when am I going to wear this, in fact no, I would definitely wear that,
I would wear it, it's already on the snug side though, that's the only thing putting off,
there is one other bandeau top, is it here, that just absolutely does not fit, I mean I got it on,
but at a push, and it was tight, and it's already in a large, and it's, so either way,
pregnancy or not, if you go for this top, size up, because it is so snug, then I got these
fisherman pant trousers, they're called Cyrus Natural Marl, like a natural kind of beige colour,
I got them in a 14, oh I need to sneeze again, I want to see this hay fever, I don't know if it's
part hay fever, part like pregnancy congestion, but it's constant, it is constant, anyway the,
these trousers have like a little fold over flap detail, which makes them quite feminine
and pretty actually, and then the tie waist too, be able to cinch in below bump, above bump,
they're a nice straight leg, they're actually quite like a smart trouser, I feel like them
with the bandeau knit, it's like a really nice combo, these are a pair of trousers, I think these
were actually a bit too big for me, in a 14, am I thinking of these rightly, I can't remember,
you'll see all the try on clips how they fit me anyway, I think it was the length maybe,
was a bit long, I suppose you could get them tailored, but they're quite a nice
white trouser, good summer trouser option, this is another little bandeau option, I quite like
the ruching, it is already, I mean it's a double XL and it's a little bit, it's not definitely
not loose up top, it fits me fine, but already it's like, it just stretches over the bumps,
it's like, it's one that I could only really wear now at this stage, so I'm not sure if this is
like going to be a practical keep option, because then post pregnancy, realistically, is a double
XL going to fit me, it might do, but it might then be too big and I just think it's silly to keep it,
if I'm not going to get the wear out of it, oh this might have been the one that I thought was
too big for me, it's a skirt, but it's like double layered, so it's definitely not sheer, but it's
it's quite like a thin fabric, but because it's double layered, it feels like there's a lot of
fabric, it's quite light though for the weather, for the warmer weather, size 12 this one, again
has the adjustable tie, anything with the adjustable tie I've found overall, like general consensus
with Dish, is that it can get away with probably a few different sizes, you know, if there's only a
few sizes left in stock, to have that adjustable waist, it really does cinch in, so anyway, quite
a floaty princessy skirt that one, and I got this top, I thought I was going to love this top, and I
don't hate it, but I actually just don't think it fits me very well, it's kind of like a crossover
front halter neck, and I saw them advertising it with a bump, like the one of the girls wearing
in the photo had a bump, and it looked so nice, and I just, I think maybe I need a bigger bump
for that, but I don't know, there was just something about it that I was like, oh I don't know if I
love it as much as I thought I would, I do, I like it on other people, but I just don't know if it fit me
quite how I imagined it would, but anyway yeah, that is my Mammoth Dish haul, so anything that is
still available I'll leave linked in the description box for you, but otherwise I feel like we're done
here on my wardrobe switch out, it feels so much better to have the space, I now need to decide
what I'm going to keep here, and I might even do, I've got a few spaces within my wardrobe of items
that I need to replenish, and things that I've maybe put in storage that I want to get a version
of that will fit me in pregnancy, so I might do a come shop with me very soon, maybe even my next
video actually, and I want to go to the Trafford Centre, because they've got, I haven't been since
the opening, but they've got that white company store haven't they, they've got the really good
Zara, they've got just a few options like H&M, and I know they do a mama range,
bump friendly range, so there's a few shops there that I haven't really been into in a while,
and now that I'm, my bumps growing at that little bit more, I kind of want to like
go with a whole new mindset, and who knows even just start looking at baby items,
which is so exciting, but also I just feel like oh am I tempting fate by buying stuff this early,
