This is the late edition of the 10 o'clock news.
I'm Dawn Timoney.
Sixers fans cannot get their hands on everything
and anything LeBron fast enough.
Our Jeff Skowerski at Philly's go-to spot for sports merch
as it unloaded its first truck full of gear.
Before LeBron James even officially signs his name
on a Sixers contract, his name and number
is being stitched onto 76ers hats.
Custom LeBron hats are flying off the shelves
at Mitchell & Ness in Center City.
Their embroidery machine has been running nonstop
since the NBA superstar announced
he's coming to Philadelphia.
It has been off the hook.
We've been getting calls from fans, customers,
fans coming in saying the king's here.
We need shirts.
We need jerseys.
We need hoodies.
Fox 29 is there as their first shipment of LeBron apparel
arrives tonight.
The king is here in Philly.
A sneak peek at the king is here chalk-tossed shirt,
hot off the presses, on sale starting Sunday.
We're rushing to get product in because we
expect these shirts to fly.
And over the next month, as we head into the season,
the demand is going to be crazy.
This is just the beginning.
Mitchell & Ness says they expect more LeBron James gear
to be coming in over the next month.
For now, they expect these to be flying off the racks.
I'm excited that he's coming to the city.
And I've got to find something, rep the LeBron gear
when I'm out.
You don't want that Cavs stuff, do you?
Oh, definitely not the Cavs.
I was looking at the East.
The East jersey might be all right.
But really, I want a Black Sisters jersey would be nice.
LeBron fever is in the air.
Just look at the billboards across the city,
including these on 676, created by Interstate Outdoor
Advertising CEO Drew Katz, a lifelong fan.
It's a huge deal.
It's a big thing for this city, for our fans,
and to celebrate it.
I also wanted LeBron to know that the fans appreciated
his choice, his decision.
Katz believes the King's decision is just the beginning
of an extraordinary economic impact.
