Today we're building an MLB team with one player from every MLB team, but there's one catch.
We're not allowed to take anyone's best player.
First, we gotta spin the wheel and see which MLB team we're gonna be controlling today.
It's gonna be the Cincinnati Reds.
So first job is to pick our Cincinnati Red.
Technically, we're gonna build around Elie De La Cruz today.
Chase Burns is a 96 overall.
Elie is a 90 overall, so we're gonna lock him in at the 6.
From the Baltimore Orioles, we're gonna take Adley Rutchman, who's an 83 overall.
From the Boston Red Sox, Aroldis Chapman has had an insane couple of seasons here,
and Garrett Crochet got knocked around a little bit early,
so we're gonna take 91 overall Garrett Crochet.
Obviously, we can't take Judge, but Cam Schlittler's gonna be our ace at 97 overall.
The Toronto Blue Jays, 94 overall Dylan Cease is the top guy.
We're gonna go to 87 overall Louis Varlin and grab our first reliever.
The Chicago White Sox have a bunch of young talent.
Colson Montgomery, Munetaka Morikami, Grant Taylor, Davis Martin.
Miguel Vargas was an all-star this year.
How is he only a 78 overall?
Can't take big Colson Montgomery.
We're gonna do Munetaka Morikami, and he's gonna play first base for us.
The Cleveland Guardians have 94 Parker Messick, 93 Cade Smith,
and I believe, wait, who, where is Jose Ramirez?
J-Ram's gotta be their highest overall.
There's something going on here.
He might be on IR and just not showing up or something.
I'm not sure.
We're gonna do Cade Smith.
The Detroit Tigers have 98 overall Tarek Skubal.
We already have Adley Rutschman, and I have another idea for catcher.
So, we're gonna actually take Kevin McGonigal, who is an all-star in his rookie season.
We already have a shortstop, obviously.
We'll figure out another position for him, maybe.
From the Kansas City Royals, we're gonna slide down and grab another reliever.
We're gonna do Lucas Erceg.
Now, from the Minnesota Twins, this one, Byron Buxton's a 96,
which means Joe Ryan gets to join the squad.
The 95 overall Joe will be our second best pitcher by overall.
Now, the Houston Astros, we're once again gonna grab bullpen here.
We're gonna get Josh Hader, Elite Lefty, the Los Angeles Angels.
I'm just gonna take another infielder.
I have a feeling we're gonna have use for Zach Netto.
And now, we get to the athletics, where Shea Langeleers is not only gonna join the team,
but he's gonna slide Adley to our backup catcher position,
and Bangeleers is gonna be behind the plate.
Seattle Mariners have Julio Rodriguez at 93 overall,
which gives us choice of all their starters.
Bryce Miller, Logan Gilbert, Brian Wu, and George Kirby.
I'm gonna take Bryce Miller.
Now, the Texas Rangers, we need someone on the hot corner.
If it's not Kevin McGonigal, we at least need a backup.
So, we're gonna get Josh Young.
Now, the Atlanta Braves, this is another team where I'm gonna slide down,
and I'm actually gonna grab bullpen.
Dylan Lee at 84 overall was an all-star this year.
He should have a higher overall, too.
Marlins, we're gonna do the same thing.
We're gonna slide down here and take Pete Fairbanks for the bullpen,
which brings us to the Mets, where we will once again do the same thing.
We're taking Luke Weaver.
And now, the Philadelphia Phillies, maybe one of the best teams for us to choose from.
Christopher Sanchez and Zach Wheeler are both 99s overall.
I'm actually gonna consider them a wash, both ineligible.
We're going down, and we're grabbing Kyle Schwarber,
who's only an 85 overall because of the speed, the defense, obviously,
but maxed out power.
He's gonna be our DH.
Cago Cubs, we're gonna grab Seiya Suzuki, just best available here.
Now, the Milwaukee Brewers, we're gonna get a ton of value out of Bryce Terang at second base
because Jacob Mizorowski is a 99.
Now, the Pittsburgh Pirates is where we're gonna get our first outfield cornerback.
We'll grab Brian Reynolds.
He's gonna go in the left field.
Now, the St. Louis Cardinals, we're gonna take another infielder.
Again, we're gonna take J.J. Weatherholt this time, another rookie.
Now, the Arizona Diamondbacks, Quetel Marte has been heating up lately,
still holding the line for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
At the top, Corbin Carroll is gonna be our right fielder.
Now, for the Dodgers, once again, Otani and Yamamoto both wipe each other out.
I'm gonna take Justin Wroblewski and get another starter.
And now, that leaves us to our final two teams, the San Diego Padres.
We need a center fielder, and Jackson Merle is sitting here.
Mason Miller's a 98, so that makes it easy for us.
We can pick in the litter.
The Rockies, Rays, Giants, and Nats are the four teams that will not be having a representative here
because the roster hasn't reached its capacity.
The goal here is to see how many World Series and overall awards we can win in a five-year sim.
This lineup is outrageous.
This is just the versus righties lineup.
The versus lefties lineup is Schwarber, Netto, McGonigal, Langeliers, Corbin Carroll, Suzuki,
Morikami, Reynolds, and Terang.
The rotation is Cam Schlitty, Joe Ryan, Bryce Miller, Garrett Crochet, and Justin Wroblewski.
My goodness.
Let's get to the All-Star break and see where we're at here in year one.
As expected here, burning through May, this team is dominant.
35-11 as we speak.
An insane run through this MLB first half of the season.
Our first blockbuster trade of this sim.
Pablo Lopez is going to the Giants for Johnny Level.
And at the All-Star break, the Cincinnati Reds are sitting at 72-24.
We might be seeing a celebration in Ohio this season.
Let's get into the second half of the year.
Started this second half of the year dropping four out of five,
and they just lost three in a row there towards the end of the month.
A slip-and-slide for the Reds, maybe?
They got to get it going again in August.
As we get towards the end of the season here, they did crack the 100-win mark,
but they didn't have as good of a second half as they did a first half,
and they finished the regular season with a 108-54 record.
That obviously wins the NL Central,
but they were on pace for like 125 wins at one point.
They are the one seed in the National League.
They'll place the winner of the Atlanta Braves and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
On the other side of the bracket, we have the Dodgers with the bye,
and the Phillies and the Padres playing in the wildcard round.
Atlanta wins game one against the Diamondbacks,
and then they sweep against the Diamondbacks.
The Padres are up one game on Philly, but we now have our opponent.
After simming one more day, the Padres and the Phillies go to three games.
The Padres win the series, and we're going to have a West Coast,
California, San Diego versus Los Angeles NLDS,
and the Reds will be taking on the Braves.
Winners will face off for a ticket to the World Series.
Simming the first two games at home, and it is split.
We win 4-2 in game one. We lose 4-2 in game two.
Now, we're going to sim the first game in Atlanta, and they dominate.
5-0. Garrett Crochet goes seven strong, four strikeouts,
and Spencer Schwellenbach gets the loss.
Now, for the win, game four.
They don't even have to play at home if they win this one,
and they do a 7-1 dominant win,
and now they're going to play those Shohei Otani Dodgers.
In the NLCS, a best-of-seven series against a Dodgers team
that, again, has Otani, still has Yamamoto,
because I didn't take Yamamoto.
They also have Glass now. Let's see who wins these first two games,
which will be in Cincinnati.
It's a sweep for the Reds. A 6-5 win.
Pete Fairbanks got the win, so it was a dramatic one down to the end,
and in game two, the Reds dominate 9-3.
Cam Schlittler gets the win. Yamamoto gets lit up.
A day off before we play in Los Angeles.
Three games in L.A. will sim the first one,
and the Reds have the Dodgers in a chokehold.
Garrett Crochet, another seven strong innings,
and they beat the Dodgers 6-1.
Now, one more win here, and we'll sweep the NLCS straight to the World Series in year one,
but they do drop again.
They lose 5-4.
Wroblewski doesn't get it done against his former team,
and in game five, they do get it done.
They win the NLDS by a 7-1 score,
and then they finish the NLCS with an 8-1 score.
Joe Ryan on the mound for this one.
Shohei Otani on the mound for the Dodgers.
Got absolutely crushed.
Let's see who we're looking to play against.
It's looking like the Guardians and the Mariners,
and the Guardians are up 3-1.
Let's sim a few days and see if they got the job done, and they did.
It's going to be the Cleveland Guardians,
and remember, we didn't get to even see Jose Ramirez on this team.
Parker Messick was their highest overall,
and we took their closer just to come here and be a setup man for the most part.
Let's sim game one.
They drop. Parker Messick gets the win.
Joe Ryan on the mound doesn't get it done.
Game two.
They drop game two, and they lose 13-1.
Gavin Williams versus Cam Schlittler, and Schlitty gets lit up.
The Reds are down two games to none,
and they got to go to Cleveland for three in a row.
Let's check out game three.
They do win game three, so they bounce back with a road win.
There has not been a home win yet in this World Series.
Reminds me of Nationals-Astros.
Let's keep that going, and we do keep that going.
Joe Ryan gets a win back in game four.
9-6 was the final score.
Now, it's Parker Messick versus Justin Wroblewski,
and the Reds sweep in Cleveland after getting swept at home.
Five games through this World Series, all five road wins.
7-5, now we get a day off on the 29th,
and we go to game six at home in Cincinnati.
Let's do the sim.
Cam Schlittler will be on the mound,
and Garrett Crochet is in the chamber for game seven if needed.
Gavin Williams on the mound.
We can load up these lefties.
We will break them up at the top at least a little bit there.
Here we go. Cam Schlittler in the top of the first gets a zero.
That's massive.
Now, Schwarber's going to lead off the bottom half,
and the Reds do not score.
Now, we go top two, where Cam Schlittler gives up two runs.
The Guardians looking to keep this road win streak alive,
but the Reds score five.
Five on five hits.
We're through two, and seven runs have been scored.
What is happening?
We need Cam Schlittler to lock in here.
He gets a zero.
The Reds get shut down in the third,
and then Schlittler gets another zero in the fourth.
That was massive.
Two straight zeros is big, but the Reds go one, two, three in the fourth.
They get a man on, and it looks like a double play.
Now, top five, Schlittler still out there.
He's giving up seven hits, gets a zero there.
Bottom five, and the Reds score four more.
This is looking like it's going to be the World Series game.
Schlittler gets another one.
We can stretch it out a little bit here with the seven-run lead.
We'll go batter by batter here.
We're pitching to Bo Naylor, gets the ground out.
Stephen Kwan hits a double,
and that right there is where we're going to go into the bullpen.
We got all these arms.
We might as well use them.
Here comes Louis Varlan.
He'll pitch to Jose Ramirez, gets the pop out,
and then a pop out on Brandon Nimmo, who's on the Guardians.
That's insane.
Our turn to hit.
Bottom seven.
The Reds score another one, make it ten to two.
We will continue to go batter by batter.
Louis Varlan goes three up, three down.
We're three outs away from winning the World Series
with this loaded-up squad in year one.
We might as well bring Cade Smith out to close it on his former team.
Solo homer.
Chase Salater hits a homer on the first at-bat,
and then he gives up a single and then a strikeout.
He doesn't deserve to close this game now.
We'll hand it to someone else who might.
Josh Hader will come out to pitch,
and since there's a double play opportunity,
we're just going to jump in now since I want to see the celebration.
Oh, that ball was ripped.
We shrug out Steven Kwan, and then Jose Ramirez gets a base hit.
Now there's two on with two outs.
Ground ball to shortstop.
Ellie's got to make a throw,
and the Cincinnati Reds win the World Series.
This team was stacked.
That was a lot of fun.
Building a team without taking anyone's best player,
the Cincinnati Reds have won the World Series.
In the clinching game, Bryce Terang hit two triples.
Kyle Schwarber, Jackson Merle, and Brian Reynolds all went yards.
Terang obviously was player of the game.
Cam Salater went six strong, eight hits, five Ks, two runs.
Ellie De La Cruz ends up winning World Series meant to be.
Of course, the one guy who stayed in uniform,
clutched up the most on the biggest stage.
MVP of the league was Shohei Ohtani.
Cy Young Awards went to Joe Ryan and Parker Messick.
By the way, big shout-out to Seeky.
Go use code SHELBY at Seeky.
Get 20 bucks off your tickets.
Go to a baseball game in the second half of the season.
And no, Kevin McGonigal won Rookie of the Year.
This man hit 35 home runs.
The midseason updated Kevin McGonigal.
Running it back for a full 162 is insane.
299 with 35 homers and Parker Messick on the other side.
Aroldis Chapman's going back to the Yankees on a two-year deal this offseason.
That's just the beginning of what's probably going to be at least a couple big moves here.
Jesus Lizardo signs a nine-year contract with the Mets.
Chris Bubich signs a five-year 149 deal with the Cardinals.
And Scooble goes eight years 356 to the White Sox.
They got their Zach Wheeler signing back.
What in the world is going on in MLB The Show, dude?
Chris Sale signs a one-year $37 million deal with the Orioles.
Now, we did lose Bryce Miller,
but that's just allowed Andrew Abbott to slide back up into his organization.
He once was an ace for Joe Ryan, Cam Schlittler, Garrett Crochet,
Justin Wroblewski, and Andrew Abbott is your rotation.
You still got Luke Weaver, Dylan Lee, Lucas Erceg, Josh Hader,
Lou Varlin, and Cade Smith in the pen.
The lineup is still loaded.
Haven't lost anyone crucial.
Schwarber under contract.
Ellie in ARV.
Kevin McGonigal was a rookie.
Munitaka's still got a year left on his deal.
Langelier's in ARV.
Corbin Carroll, long-term deal.
Jackson Merrill, long-term deal.
Ryan Reynolds, I don't really,
I actually don't know what the update is on him.
And Bryce Terang still has ARV left.
This team locked and loaded for another one,
and they need an MVP.
Who's gonna outdo Shohei Ohtani?
First blockbuster of year two,
Sandy Alcantara's going to the Astros.
Mason Miller, oh baby, is on the move to the New York Mets for JoJo Parker.
Sale goes to the Athletics for Jamie Arnold.
And this Reds team just not quite as dominant
as the team that's coming off that World Series win.
They're gonna finish this season with a 101-61 record.
They did finish strong there.
They got over the 100-win mark,
and they make the postseason as a wildcard, though.
But what they did do is pretty much just run through the NL
as I accidentally simmed it.
After losing the first game to the Diamondbacks,
they come back and they win the wildcard in three games.
And then after dropping the first game to the Dodgers,
they win four out of five to win the DS in five games.
And now in the NLCS against the Braves,
they split on the road, they've split at home,
and game five is in Cincinnati.
Garrett Crochet versus Grant Holmes.
This win could be huge, and it's a W.
They're one win away from going to the World Series again.
Game six in Atlanta is a win,
and they will take on either the Mariners or the Guardians.
Let's find out who it's gonna be.
This time, it'll be the Seattle Mariners.
They beat the Guardians last year.
Let's sim the first two at home against the Mariners.
They split.
Now they're gonna go to Seattle.
Let's sim the first two in Seattle.
They split again.
Same thing as the NLCS.
Game five is a win,
and we're gonna jump into game six at home
with a chance to see them celebrate yet again.
Cam Schlittler will be on the mound.
Same setup as last year.
Brian Wu on the mound.
We're loading up left.
Top one, Cam Schlittler, 2.1 ERA in the postseason.
Gives up two in the second, though.
This is feeling awfully familiar.
Top of the order, bottom six, four innings to get it home,
and they score two.
They finally fight back.
Jackson Merle hits a homer,
but that's all we'll do on the inning.
A solo shot from Jackson Merle makes it a one-run game.
Can someone else do it
before I jump into this game in the ninth?
Ow!
Oh, baby!
The Reds have scored in the sixth, the seventh, and the eighth.
They hit two home runs in the eighth inning,
and they're now in the lead.
Cal Raleigh's leading it off when we get in.
Cade walked the first batter, I believe,
last time he had a chance to close the World Series.
Hut!
No!
And there it is.
Ozzie Albies gets an eight-year deal to go play on the A's.
William Contreras also gets a five-year deal to go to the A's.
The A's are all in.
Oh, the Tigers have given up on Riley Green and Spencer Torkelson,
but they're taking in Anthony Volpe.
What is happening in the American League?
The rotation still remains exactly the same in year three.
We did lose Munetaka Murakami from our lineup,
and J.J. Weatherholt has now passed Bryce Terang, and overall,
we're still looking at Kyle Swarbrer, Eli De La Cruz,
Kevin McGonigal, Luis Garcia against righties.
Absolutely smashes.
Didn't know that was a thing.
Shea Langeleers, J.J. Weatherholt, Brian Reynolds,
Corbin Carroll, and Jackson Merle.
Can the Reds do it three years in a row?
Let's find out.
They're starting the year under .500.
Finally just crawled back.
Nico Horner gets moved to the Marlins.
Look at the Marlins going for it,
trading two top 100s for a big overall 30-year-old.
Who's seen that coming?
Going into the all-star break here, and again,
Imanaga, why didn't they just do one gigantic deal?
Goes to the Marlins.
That's kind of insane.
The Reds were 65-33 at the break,
and now the Marlins are getting Sandy Alcantara from the Phillies,
who apparently had Sandy Alcantara,
and Orion Kirk brings up to an 87.
He's a part of the deal.
The Cincinnati Reds, once again,
they're actually even better than year two.
They go 106-56 in year three.
They're going to be playing the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS.
Will sim the first two games at home,
and it looks like the Braves won both.
Not only did they win both, 15-1 in game two.
So now the Reds have to win three in a row,
and it's looking like they might get eliminated for the first time ever.
They get swept.
Not only are they eliminated,
they get swept by the Atlanta Braves.
That's devastating.
Wow, the A's end up beating the Braves in the World Series.
So all those athletic deals from the offseason do pay off.
They're your 2028 World Series champs over the Braves,
who swept the back-to-back champs.
The Reds are trending down.
World Series MVP was Nick Kurtz, of course.
After back-to-back Reds, we have an athletic.
Once again, we have someone finish third in the MVP Award.
This time, it's a pitcher, Garrett Crochet,
who I'm going to assume won the Cy Young Award, 18-1, 2.2.6.
But Shohei Ohtani wins the MVP again, and we are just shy.
We just can't get it done.
We've won the Cy Young Award three times now.
Garrett Crochet, Cam Schlittler, Joe Ryan all get that done.
So now we have the Rookie of the Year Award.
We have three Cy Young Awards.
We have two World Series, two World Series MVPs.
We're going into year four with a slowly but surely aging roster.
Jordan goes back to the Dodgers, nine years, 407 million.
And yes, I said back to the Dodgers.
Look it up.
Byron Buxton goes three years, 110 to the Diamondbacks.
2029 is the year Hunter Goodman finally gets traded.
He goes to the Marlins, and he's still rocking a 90 overall.
The Marlins made all those deals last year.
They're really going for it.
We lost Josh Hader to the Yankees.
Oh, no, I'm devastated.
Ronald Acuna Jr., eight years to the Colorado Rockies.
That man's going to be a Hall of Famer with those stats.
The rotation is now Garrett Crochet, Joe Ryan, Cam Schlittler, Andrew Abbott,
Justin Wroblewski, the exact same, but these overalls are all shifting around.
Eli De La Cruz is up to a 99.
Kevin McGonigal's at a 92.
J.J. Weatherholt's up to a 93 overall.
Brian Reynolds is at a 90 overall.
Shay Langelier's up to a 90 overall.
This team is, the lineup is still stout.
Jordan Walker's a 91 overall, and he's going to Pittsburgh in a six-player deal.
Cincinnati Reds are climbing through May here, 32-15 at the time,
and this Reds team has absolutely heated up here in late August into September,
just like the last few teams, and they're going down into the stretch.
They will finish with a 103-59 record, good enough to win the NL Central.
Yet again, so we will wait to see who we play, and this time around,
it will be the Arizona Diamondbacks.
So these first two games at home against the D-backs is a double-dip loss.
They get swept at home, and once again, will have to win three in a row,
and they do win the third game.
So a big bounce-back 10-3-W.
Can they win the second one on the road?
This is big. They do.
It's 8-6.
Now a game five.
It's Joe Ryan versus Logan Gilbert, a Cy Young winner versus a Cy Young contender,
and the winner of game five to go to the NLCS is the Reds, baby!
They come back from 0-2.
The Diamondbacks fans are devastated,
but it's going to be the Milwaukee Brewers and the Reds in the NLCS,
two NL Central teams.
The NL Central was loaded.
We split the first two games.
Now we go to Milwaukee, and we drop two in a row.
So again, the Reds are going to have to win three straight.
They win one.
So now they're coming back home.
Retro night in game six, and the Reds drop game six to the Brewers.
The Milwaukee Brewers are going to the World Series,
and the Milwaukee Brewers are going to win the World Series.
They defeat the Boston Red Sox in 2029 and win it all.
We have now won two World Series, two World Series MVPs.
There's one season left.
And Lau was your World Series MVP for the Brew crew,
so they just replaced Bryce Terang and kept it pushing.
I see how it is.
The MVP of the National League was Jordan Alvarez.
He batted .333 with 56 home runs.
Trent Grisham.
Trent Grisham and Ronald Acuna are your top three,
and your Cy Young winner was Max Mayer with the Miami Marlins.
Batting title winner was Jordan.
Your reliever of the year was Alex Vecchia,
and your rookie of the year was Andrew Fisher.
Dud of a season for the aging Cincinnati Reds.
They almost got back to the World Series.
We have one more season to get it done.
Spencer Schwellenbach gets traded to the Cleveland Guardians
in the first move of our fourth and final offseason.
Brian Wu gets 418 million from the Rockies.
I mean, pitching Rocky deals for 400 million, huh?
Christopher Sanchez, 183 from the Brewers.
Mason Miller gets 78 million at 31 years old, and Josh Hader.
So the Red Sox double dip on Mason Miller and Josh Hader like it's 2026.
26-year-old Jackson Holliday is up to an 88 overall.
He's gonna go to the Yankees.
And that is the most devastating notification I've ever seen.
Eli De La Cruz takes 11 years, 457 to go play for those Arizona Diamondbacks.
And Paul Skeen's right next to him.
Six years, 247 to the Mariners.
Eli De La Cruz has left the building.
The rotation will be Garrett Crochet, Joe Ryan, Cam Schlittler,
Justin Wroblewski, and Reynaldo Lopez.
This lineup versus righties is gonna be Schwarber,
Brian Reynolds, Michael Bush joined the team.
J.J. Weather holds up to a 94 overall.
Hunter Goodman has joined the team.
Kevin McGonigal, Corbin Carroll, Mark Vientos is our third baseman,
and Jackson Murrell's in center.
Shea Langeleers is still on the team.
He's an 87 overall, but he just doesn't hit righties well.
This team's still good.
Let's see what they can do.
At the All-Star break, the Reds are 63 and 34
as they go into the second half of our final season here.
We've made the playoffs every year.
We've done everything except win the MVP award.
Jazz Chisholm's gonna get traded to the Houston Astros on the day of the deadline.
And it does look like that is the last and final deal that happens.
Can this team push it to 100 wins?
Oh, they absolutely can.
And they're actually gonna have the best season
that this team has ever had with a week left.
They're gonna finish 1-12-50?
1-12-50?
I didn't even have control over the last few pieces of this roster.
They just won the NLDS.
Now they're gonna play the Pirates or the Mets.
They're gonna play the Pirates.
They're playing the Mets in the NLCS.
First two games of the series, they drop both.
The Sims have been brutal to us.
Oh, man!
The Reds in a four-game sweep against the Mets in the NLCS.
They don't win a single game in the best-of-seven series.
That's a devastating way for this to end.
And the Mets have defeated the Yankees in the Subway Series 2030 World Series.
A five-year Sim ends with the Mets beating the Yankees in the World Series.
I almost want to just scrap the video.
Oh, the Mets swept, too.
That's disgusting.
Are you kidding me?
Carson Binge is your World Series MVP,
and Jordan Alvarez wins back-to-back league MVPs,
this time batting .324 with 54 home runs.
We do get our fourth Cy Young Award in these five seasons with Joe Ryan, though,
who wins his second award.
Jordan won the batting title.
We got a reliever-of-the-year award as well,
and Cade Smith, throw it in the closet.
You'll love to see that.
Chase Petty wins Rookie of the Year.
Two Rookie of the Years, one Reliever of the Year,
four Cy Young Awards, two World Series in a five-year stretch
without taking anyone's best player.
That was a lot of fun.
I have no idea how I'm going to edit this together or title or thumb the video,
which is usually not how I jump into things.
I just had an idea.
I sat down. I recorded it.
That was fun.
I hope you enjoyed.
