During the current military campaign, the US Armed Forces used the B-1 Lancer heavy strategic bomber for the first time to strike targets in Iran. Channel 12 reported this information, citing sources in the American leadership. The bomber took off from an American airbase located in the UK. The strikes targeted targets controlled by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The aircraft is capable of carrying up to two dozen heavy bombs or a large number of cruise missiles, remaining a key tool for long-range precision strikes. The B-1's use came 12 days after active hostilities resumed between Washington and Tehran.

US Central Command did not directly mention the B-1 bomber's deployment in its official reports. However, the military department confirmed a new wave of large-scale strikes that struck: Command posts of the Iranian armed forces. Naval infrastructure facilities. Military aviation hangars. Drone warehouses and logistics hubs.

The operation's stated primary objective is to reduce Iran's ability to threaten international shipping in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. The exact results of the B-1's deployment have not yet been disclosed. According to American and Israeli observers, the Trump administration is exploring scenarios for further expanding the military campaign against Iran, continuing to deploy reinforcements to the region.

For its part, Tehran has no intention of changing its stance regarding the Strait of Hormuz and continues to attack US military installations. At the same time, some US security officials note a noticeable weakening of Iranian forces' combat potential in the area, although the overall threat to merchant vessels remains. Trump has described the current standoff with the Islamic Republic of Iran as a "skirmish," while noting the exceptional force of Washington's strikes.

According to the head of state, the strength being demonstrated is forcing Tehran to consider concluding a deal. However, the American leader believes that the Iranian side is not yet fully ready to sign the agreement, but expressed confidence that this state of readiness will come very soon. Trump has addressed Iran's leadership amid a serious crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, during which Iran's IRGC has been striking ships.

"From now on, every time the Islamic Republic of Iran fires at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz — whether with a missile, a projectile, a drone, or any other device or weapon — the United States will bomb and destroy one bridge and one power plant, including those near Tehran or in the capital city of Tehran itself," Trump said.

As previously reported, US President Donald Trump commented on the possibility of a US military strike on Iran's underground nuclear facility located in the Kirk Mountains. He stated that ending the military operation at this stage would allow Tehran to rebuild its destroyed infrastructure and lost capabilities within a few decades.
