Solo Camping & Fishing at 3 Remote Mountain Lakes | Catch & Cook
It was an incredibly windy day as I hiked to three remote mountain lakes to see if they held any fish. Shortly after reaching the first lake, the rain moved in, making the adventure even more challenging.
After a few casts, I continued to the inlet, where I found a more sheltered spot along the creek to set up camp. Surrounded by rugged mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and breathtaking scenery, it was an incredible place to spend the night despite the harsh weather.
Once camp was ready, I returned to fish the first lake and caught a few small trout before exploring the second and third lakes. Every lake had its own unique character, and the landscape made the long hike completely worth it.
Back at camp, I prepared fresh trout wraps on my gas stove—a simple but delicious meal to end an unforgettable day in the mountains.
